I received this novel from net galley and the publisher. Thank you!
This novel was a great read for the next one in the series. I could not put it down! The novel continues where the first novel in the series left off. Kaelan Younger is now Prince Lasaro’s dragon tamer a the Akademy, but many are wary of her because she is Mordon’s daughter, the rogue dragon who wanted to remove the royal family from power. Kaelan and Lasaro continue to develop there bond, but keep secrets from each other which threatens their relationship. Both are in love with each other but cannot be together. When a sickness infects the dragons, Kaelan and Lasaro try to find a cure and the source of the sickness before dragons begin dying and Unger attacks. The story flows very well, with third person point of views between Kaelan and Lasaro, whom have to chose between each other and Alveria.

Kaelan grows into her power in this book. Now acknowledged by the Akademy as a Dragon Tamer, she starts taking lessons when suddenly the dragons start falling ill-but only she knows that it's not just a common illness but reeks of dark magic, and she would do everything to save the dragons, especially Lasaro, her dragon.
I love Kaelan's resilience. Her decision not to back down from any fight is what makes this series intriguing. After reading the first book and now this one, I have the feeling that no matter what's thrown her way, she would find a way to overcome it.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.

This book was great!
I was first attracted to the author but the plot and the character depth really aided the novels progression. I just think sometimes the story lacked some depth in areas, and I would have liked further explanation. Thank you!
