This book is a gem. The heroine is strong yet has a unique set of troubles that is seldom explored in historical romance. The hero is not the best of the bunch, but he's fine, also with some problems of his own. The story is set in Christmas and is funny, sad, and believable. This series is excellent. The heroines have all been realistic and the heroes are good too. You can read these books as stand alones, but i recommend the whole series. They have all been worth reading. They have couples that actually communicate which is refreshing.
