I was drawn straight into this book. It lived up to its great opening. Really well written characters and a completely different tale than I was expecting. Absolutely loved it. A firm 4/5.

An unreliable narrator is definitely frustrating at times, but the high adrenaline of a missing person curbs that feeling. I loved the audiobook and the narrator definitely evoked Louisa perfectly and I couldn't stop listening until I found out what was really going on. I found Sam Carrington when I read One Little Lie and I'm so glad The Missing Wife is just as thrilling a puzzle.

I was excited to read this book as I love psychological thrillers. I found it difficult to care about, or become invested in, any of the characters. The plot was another over done whodunit. A woman, Louisa, turning 40 with a teenager and surprise new baby begins having trouble remembering. After her party, her ex's wife goes missing. Louisa doesn't remember much. The typical, standard novel about yet another over-stressed middle-aged mom who might have snapped. I struggled to keep my eyes open for this one.

A good book with a storyline with lots of twists and turns until the very end. It is easy to read. I would recommend this book.

Good book with a storyline I've not come across before, fair few twists and turns and pretty gripping to be honest. Loved Louisa the main character and really enjoyed the book! Didn’t see the ending coming, read it in two sittings and will be looking out for more from this author for sure.

The missing wife is unlike any story I’ve ever read. So interesting. I didn’t sleep until I had answers. One of my favorite books! So so so good.

While I enjoyed this story, I was hoping for more...I’m just not sure what that more was. I found myself flipping through the pages, feeling like I was being directed to believe something was happening only to discover it was something else all along.
I’m feeling raw with this book...unsure of how to feel. It makes for an interesting bookclub discussion, that’s for sure.

I really enjoyed this and thought it was a gripping fast paced book which I found hard to put down. I struggled towards the ending when it didn't quite play out exactly I thought it would and i thought it would go differently but otherwise I really enjoyed it.

Lou Lou (Louisa) is a new mom to Oliver. She’s sleep-deprived, and not coping at all, so why Tiff – her best friend (really?) – would organize a surprise party by hacking her Facebook account is beyond me. It sounds like my worst nightmare. But that’s just the beginning. Oliver (gorgeous and part of Lou Lou’s chequered past) shows up with his wife. Only she goes missing at the party.

The good is that this is a thrilling page turner. You can’t really stop and think, that would kill the vibe. And I suppose that’s the bad. The ugly is that this is one of those books where everyone is the suspect and then the ending comes completely out of left field. It’s an enjoyable weekend read, if you’re prepared to just go with it, not think too much and suspend your disbelief for an extended period of time. There are also some pacing issues – parts of this speed past, whilst others feel unbearably dragged out.

Not bad, but not wonderful either.

I struggled. This wasn't for me and I can't exactly out my finger on it as to why exactly but it didn't really flow well and my interest wasn't captured. I think the sypnosis sounded rather good but it just didn't live up to my expectation. It wasn't bad or anything but just not what I was after. 2.5 stars from me means it was a bit better than 'just ok.'

For me this wasn't as good as other Sam Carrington books, was a little disappointed

I liked and disliked this book at the same time. The premise of it was great and the writing was pretty good, but I felt like it was choppy. It didn't have a flow that I could get into. The last 20% of the book was great although it felt like a shift that didn't relate to some other parts of the plot. I would have liked to see more development of the relationships between the characters and when the end is revealed more closure to the characters. It wasn't great and it wasn't bad, it was an entertaining read even through the flaws.

The Missing Wife was a quick read. It wasn’t the best mystery novel I’ve ever read but it also wasn’t the worst. I was intrigued by the premise of the story; exhausted mother with memory issues and a secret past that comes to haunt her. The issue with this story is that the author is trying to add too many cliche mystery novel plot lines. There is so much going on in this story and at times something that you think will be big (strained relationship with parents) ends up having nothing to do with the story. I think the author would have been better off focusing the story instead of trying to add so many stereotypical plot points. I also found the ending to be flat. I would not recommend this book to avid mystery fans.

Fast, easy read with a few twists. Some aspects of the plot might feel recycled if you're not new to suspense novels. The ending also felt rushed, making it lose points for me. At first, I thought I had read this before, sleep deprived new mother of Noah struggles to cope. Sounded familiar but I didn’t remember the concept of her surprise birthday and her ex Oliver’s wife going missing.

This is an odd plot. Louisa’s best friend throws a surprise 40th birthday for her, inviting all her old friends from college including her ex. There is unfinished business between Louisa and Oliver, and when his wife Melissa goes missing Oliver turns to Melissa for help.

This forms the plot for the first half of the novel but then the plot shifts, no one can remember if Melissa was at the party, but Louisa remembers talking to her. Does Melissa even exist, and did Oliver do something to her.

Just when it seems that this plot is trundling along, and I was wondering how the second half of the novel was going to go the plot takes of in another direction. I literally read the last few chapters with the jaw hanging open. Thoroughly enjoyable and I defiantly recommend.

This is my first time reading anything from this author and it came out to be entertaining although I will say at times hard to get into and devourable at others but it came together and still turned out to really enjoyable. Some people might think the same but stick it out to the end because it really all does flow together nicely.

Carrington did a great job incorporating good twists and turn that the reader doesn't anticipate or predict. It includes unreliable characters that you just can't trust as well as lots of mystery and little clues along the way.

I have always been a sucker for thrillers that have anything to do with marriage, lies, crimes, secrets and missing spouses and you definitely get all that in the missing wife. Carrington's writing is nicely done and she did a good job in character development as well as the plot and made everything fall into place smoothly.

A great read with lots of twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout. It would have been 5 stars for me but I didnt care much for the ending which was very far fetched and unlikely. However the tension and plot development thoughout were really well thought out.
I would recommend this to any fans of the thriller, second guessing, psychological genre.

I could not put it down only to do what was only essential, sleep, chores, work, marriage, etc. Eat is essential but I ate while reading, so maybe that does not count. I look forward to reading al of this author's books. I love her writing style. I have to give this book 5 big fabulous stars!

This was a good page turner and I wasn’t able to second guess what was going to happen!
The ending was a little far fetched, but all in all very enjoyable.
