I’ve read a few Karin Slaughter but this is my favourite so far. Dealing with the difficult subject of hatred of race, sexual orientation and gender. Cleverly laid out I didn’t guess what was going to happen. Loved it. Only one thing maybe too many technical details of guns but that’s just personal preference.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read this book. I always enjoy Karin slaughters books. This one however was a bit hard to get into to be quite honest. So many people sharing their point of view. It got confusing trying to remember everyone. But as usual it didn’t disappoint. An absolutely brilliant book. Great storyline and good characters. Definitely worth 5stars.

Not the best Karin Slaughter book I have read, it took me a while to get into it and I must admit I did some skim reading just to get to the end.

It took me a long time to get through this one, it wasn't one of the best karin slaughter books that i've read. Whilst i saw it through as i wanted to know if Will and Sara escaped i felt i was skipping parts of dialogue that was just unnecessary.

This is part of a series of books, so you may need to have read the others to get a better understanding of the characters and their histories, although it is possible to read it as a standalone. Very exciting and keeps you on the edge at all times. Very well written and action packed from start to finish.

The Last Widow is another book in the fabulous Sara Linton and Will Trent series, this is Karin Slaughter back at her best and I hope this series just goes on and on.
Sara is abducted by a group of white neo nazi types that intend to cause havoc and hundreds if not thousands of deaths. Will is determined to find Sara and pulls out all the stops, not caring who he upsets, or at what cost to himself.
I don’t wish to give the plot away, suffice to say this is a heart pounding, page turning book.
Will continues to be the wonderful character you love and just want happiness for and Sara remains his rock.
So well written and descriptive, you can picture everything, some events almost too much that they leave you shocked and wide eyed.
Full of action, an absolutely cracking read.

Wow I loved the messed up nature of this book and how much it kept you guessing at what was was going on! Karin Slaughter once again hooks us in successfully!

I love Karin Slaughter books and read all Grant County and then Will Trent. I love the partnership between Will and Sara. I was so excited to read this one which I found gripping from start to finish.
Three main different character viewpoints are shown. Will is a strong silent presence Sara is a paediatrician and an agent with Will and Faith is Will's partner.
The book starts with Michelle a specialist in Infectious diseases being kidnapped No word is heard for a month then there is a massive explosion at the hospital with loss of life that brings everything to a head.
Sara is kidnapped with Michelle seen in one of the cars involved in a traffic accident near the explosion.
The story moves forward with input from each of the main players The terrorists are just that with paedophilia mentioned but thankfully not detailed.
I will say that I am not a fan of the same story being told by different characters viewpoints and found that quite confusing.
However I was so gripped by this and read it at every opportunity Would highly recommend

I am very much a fan of karin answers was looking forward to an update on two well known characters. I was disappointed and bored with the first few chapters as they just told the same story from different points of view. It was definitely topical in reference to terrorism and white supremacy, but I found it went into far to much detail. I did find the constant will,loves Sarah, Sarah loves will theme throughout the whole a bit off putting and for me,it split what old have been an excellent thriller. Not sure if I would be in a hurry to read a follow up.

This book is action packed from start to finish, Will Trent and Sarah become embroiled in kidnapping, murder and terrorism! When Sarah is taken Will with the help of the GBI try to track down DASH the man behind all the atrocities. Can they track him down and save Sarah and stop him in his plans to destroy thousands of lives
Some topics uncomfortable but fitting for the cult type life they were all living in

Thoroughly enjoyed this adventure with Will and Sara playing their parts. My only concern is that this may be the last we see of this couple - which would be a great shame as I have become very emotionally invested in them over the years and Karin slaughter is one of my favourite writers. Many thanks for the ARC and if you're looking for a rollicking good tale - goodies versus baddies - this is the book for you.

A story that can make you smile,laugh cry,get angry and smile again is one in a million. This is one of the best,great characters and an intricate story,loved it.

I've read all the Karin Slaughter books and am starting to enjoy this new relationship of the two key characters - however, I was a little disappointed in this book. I'm more of a fan of the serial killer genre rather than thriller, and this fell into the latter category. It was well written and a reasonably easy read, although I did find it a little basic and patronising at times during the debates she was having with the white supremacist but overall, a reasonable book. Thanks for the opportunity to read and review.

Well t this is a gripping thriller is the first thing that hits me when I think of what to say, and yes from the start I truly was gripped..
The story is told from the Veiw of three different characters all believable and all with something special to offer. There is Will the strong silent type but still a great character he works for the GBI as a agent, then there is his GBI partner Faith and Wills partner in life Sara who is a medic that is also a agent / Government officer.
Michelle à specialist in infectious disease has been kidnapped and a month later all hell breaks out as a couple of bombs go of at a hospital as Will is just finishing cutting the grass at Sara's aunts home which is just down the road and we'll within a less than half a hour Sara has been kidnapped and the count of the dead is rising. Plus it appears that Michelle is in one of the cars that are invoked in a traffic accident near the site of the explosions. This collision is of importance as it is the first thing that Will and Sara encounter on route, and at the place that Sara is kidnapped. So what pursues is a bid to rescue Sara who is doing her part to help those she can and look for a way of getting free.
To start with the story tells the same story from the point of all the one chapter at a time from each of the hero's view-point or experience.. The hero's are great and the villains true unadulterated evil but you will be able to hate with a passion as you would a James bond villain.
This is a thriller that will help you escape from life for a few hours keep on the beach and on holiday or at home for a few evenings or a weekend guilty pleasure. I give it 5 stars because I genuine believe this book is 5 stars and we're not allowed to give 6. As I said before you have the same story bring told from three different angles and it works really well, Karin is a incredible story teller and makes a fantastic job that not many authors could carry out but she not only does but had excelled at it as you will see when you read it, well I hope you read it because it's a great thriller.

Wow i am so happy to be back in the world of Will Trent and Sara Lindon. They are two of my favorite characters ever written and this book proved why yet again. The powerful emotions Karin Slaughter evokes from them both is incredible and i felt it on every page as they struggled to get back together. The plot was rather different in this book and i loved how Slaughter explored this new world.

When I requested this book I didn’t realise it was part of a series. However, from reading it, I think it can be read as a standalone but it may be worth reading the other books in the series to get the back story on the main characters Will and Sara.
I struggled at the start due to Sara and Will’s POV which repeated pretty much the same as the other character. It got boring reading the same thing twice. But once we were away from the opening scene it was full of action and I did enjoy it.
This is the first Karin Slaughter book I have read and the plot was refreshing, although very frightening too as this could happen. It is not something I had read before.
I would recommend it

An addictive page burner of a book with the overdue return of Mr Will Trent with a plot so plausible it has you reaching for the tv remote to check the news.

This book has just confirmed it, I am a little bit in love with Will Trent! Both he and Sara have been sorely missed and their return is in an epic explosion back into our lives, literally! If you have been following their stories from the start you will not be disappointed with this book but if this is your first time meeting Will and Sara there is enough back story for you to be able to jump straight in and still get the full blast of the book. However for a maximum subversive read it is worth reading the other books in the series in order. Not only will it enhance this book for you but the whole series is fantastic and is one of my all time favourite series in crime fiction.

The plot of this book is around domestic terrorists calling themselves the IPA – Invisible Patriot Army who have already bombed one busy location killing and injuring hundreds of people and are now planning an even bigger terrorist attack in the name of race.They believe the white race are supreme and all others should be wiped out and that is the message they believe they are sending to the world with their bombs.

The plot is so plausible it makes it that much more terrifying and it sweeps you along at a blistering non stop pace start to finish and is one that is relevant to our times sadly.

A wonderful return of GBI agent Will Trent and Dr Sara Linton, I hope that now that they are back we won’t have to wait so long for their next story!

If you are a karin Slaughter fan or new to her work this is one book that no one will want to miss.

Now, in the main, I like Karin Slaughter's books - but, you really never know what you're going to get!! (A bit like a box of chocolates).
In this instance, for this particular novel, I have to say it really was frustrating and exercised my skim-reading skills (which I just hate to employ, being a measure of the amount of irrelevancies encountered which block the progression of a story) to their maximum.
A scientist from the Centre of Disease Control, Michelle Spivey, is abducted, in front of her daughter.
The Emory university campus experiences explosions. Dr Sara Linton and Georgia Bureau Investigator Will Trent are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sara is also abducted. Will needs to find her.
We are taken into the world of US home-grown terrorists/ white supremacists/ survivalists and their need to strike at the governmental system.
As a basic story, this novel is fine, but - I felt like I was reading someone's thesis on the rise of the supremacist movement - given huge researched detail on the people and organisations which have effected atrocities on US soil, underpinning the reasoning behind the story.
It was also very repetitive in writing style - the story goes along, then it's repeated from another character's point of view, adding just a few more details. Very annoying.
I really would like to know more of Sara's and Will's relationship, probably in further books, but quite honestly would not put myself through the agony of this style of writing again.

Love Karin Slaughter but forgot just how much til I started on this. Great characters, interesting story and great musical references! Would recommend! As I understand the characters are parts of other series but can equally be read as a standalone!

I found this one a little bit of a slow burn - the novel starts with the abduction of scientist Michelle Spivey, and Sara and Will are soon part of a plot involving a cult and weapons of mass destruction.
Although the story moves apace, it does feel like there’s a lot of tell rather than show. We spend a lot of time in Will and Sara’s heads.
Having said that, Slaughter is a consummate thriller writer and there were parts of the novel where I skim-read just to find out what was happening.
So, a good thriller and a treat as always for Sara and Will fans. I’d recommend it, but maybe not the most evenly-paced or compelling read of this series.
