Another gripping psychological thriller from K L Slater.
A scary topic and a real page turner.
Great book

I was expecting great things from this novel and that is exactly what I got! Although I have not read any of K L Slater’s books I have several on my reading list, including ‘The Visitor’ and ‘Safe With Me.’

In “Finding Grace”, Lucie is facing every mother’s worst nightmare - her little girl, Grace, has vanished.

Although the premise of this thriller isn’t new by any means, right from the start, I was absorbed by this story. It was chock-full of so many lies and secrets. I really liked K L Slater’s style of writing and the unpredictability of the story-line. The author’s great characterisation is worth mentioning and I also particularly enjoyed the different timelines.

Reading this suspenseful thriller was quite the twisty roller-coaster ride and K L Slater’s clever writing had me mistrusting of so many of the suspects.

I loved the parts of the book that were concerned with Lucie’s past history and was pleased with the way in which the story-lines connected through to the stunning and fulfilling conclusion.

All in all, I found this book to be a worthwhile read and I look forward to reading more from K L Slater, including those books I already own! I would recommend “Finding Grace” to anyone who likes a good psychological thriller.

Thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and the author, K L Slater for my free ARC of Finding Grace. My honest review is entirely voluntary.

A wonderful novel. There is seldom a novel by this author that I haven't liked. This one was an easy and fun read.

OMG what a book!
This book struck a chord with me straight away. My eldest is nearly 9 and desperate for more independence including walking to and from his best friend’s house nearby, and we have also discussed him walking to my parents’ which is 2 roads away. I immediately identified with the main character Lucie whose daughter wants to walk home alone.
In this book, nine year old Grace is allowed to walk home for the first time ever. Her parents have agreed with the best friend’s parents that they will watch secretly to the corner at which point Blake, the dad, will watch her. But Blake gets distracted by his phone then slips over…
In that split second, Grace disappears.
Her mother Lucie is quite obviously frantic and the police are called immediately but their investigation leads to shocking revelations about more than one family member. Can Lucie trust her frinds or even her own husband…?
Events from Lucie’s past are gradually revealed through the book and we discover secrets which she thought had been hidden forever. Again I felt a real connection with Lucie as I recalled my own university days: the worry of meeting new people, homesickness, the self discipline of organising your own studies.
This is a fast paced intriguing read which is well written and emotive. We follow Lucie as she struggles to cope with the disappearance of Grace. We see and feel the pain and worry she suffers in the present day, whilst the events of the past are revealed in flashbacks. There are also other viewpoints shared with the reader and these serve to give a more broad understanding of events and show other secrets.
To be totally honest, I thought the ending was slightly OTT and therefore not very believable. However, this did not spoil my enjoyment of the book at all. The rest of the book was absolutely superb and I would have no hesitation in recommending it!

A thriller/ mystery that builds the tension from page one and will keep you guessing which parent to believe. How can they find their daughter if the rescue is based on their lies. WOW!

This is a psychological thriller that keeps you guessing to the very end. The story pulls at your heartstring since it’s a story of a lost child which the parents, police and the whole neighbourhood is searching for.
Lots of twists and turns, you are kept guessing till the very end and what an unexpected ending it was,
Excellent read. Great characters, very well written, could not put this book down. 5 stars.

I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest opinion of it. Luci and Blake are living the perfect life with their two children when 9 year old Grace convinces her parents that she is capable of walking by herself from her friend's house which is right down the street. When she doesn't come home and is missing, the story goes between the past and the present with Luci and all of the things that she is hiding from her husband. I could not put the book down and I really thought so many times that I had it figured out and that it was so obvious but I was wrong. I also loved the twist at the end with a touch of forgiveness. Highly recommend.

I have always enjoyed reading books by K L Slater and Finding Grace was yet another excellent psychological thriller by the author.
You are never quite sure if Grace will be found alive or if she will be in a diabetic coma, because of lack of insulin. Again Jeffrey, the neighbour plays an integral part in the storyline, but is he the kidnapper or is he the hero? There are plots within plots, twists and turns that you don’t predict and throughout it is about Finding Grace.
With thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for the ARC, which I enjoyed reading and reviewing.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this book started out a little slow, but redeemed itself later. 9 year old Grace disappears while walking from her friend's house to her house, which shouldn't have happened, because the friend's dad should have been able to see her until the point where her own father could see her. But her father slipped while reading a text Grace didn't appear. We know Lucie, the mother, is hiding something from the past. I thought the first half was just a lot of crying and lamenting that Grace was gone with a little bit of potentially suspicious behavior from multiple characters so there are a lot of possible suspects. I thought the book improved in the second half as we found out more about Lucie's past. The reasons for Grace's abduction were a surprise so that redeemed the book for me.

Excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I kept reading and reading to find out why it was a psychological thriller as it seemed like a run of the mill abduction story. But boy oh boy. When I got to that part, I was like, what, wait, how did that just happen. The ending I did not pick at all apart from hoping they would find Grace. The relationships with Blake and Lucie, and Bev and Mike kept me wanting more. The creepy neighbour Jeffery was a good angle which I wished the ending was different for that character as I would have liked to see him pop up in other books (sorry, spoiler alert!). Mrs Charterhouse, well that was a great twist too and so surprising. Stefan, and Rhonda, you just know something is not quite right but I could not fully pick that twist. Overall a great read and I have signed up to be notified of future releases for K.L. Slater as I enjoyed this book a lot. Thanks to NetGalley, K.L. Slater and Bookouture for providing this wonderful book to read so I could write my review.

Finding Grace was yet another great book by K L Stater, a nine year old walks home from her friends house, a five minute walk but she does not arrive home. A fab read that had me hooked from the first few lines.

This book is by one of my favourite authors who never ever disappoints. Fast paced throughout, more twists and turns than a rollercoaster ride. Very highly recommended book for any fan of this genre.
