Overall, I definitely enjoyed reading this book. It actually was my first experience with paranormal romance and I haven't been disappointed. As for the story itself, I think it was a bit long-winded here and there. Sometimes when the story finally made progress, things happened that kind of made it feel like we were back at the beginning. Also, Nora was a bit annoying sometimes, with blaming Davey for things she has caused herself.

Picking up the pieces of her sister’s death Nora and Dave find a way to blend their life together. When beliefs clash, compromise is key and taking those next tentative steps forward are essential. Great romance!

I almost didn't finish reading this book, there where parts where I was shaking my head thinking this can't be real. I hate not finishing books, so I forced myself to read this. If you're not into believing that animals can communicate and give you advice about all aspects of your life, don't bother picking this book up.

Nora Williams gets dumped by her boyfriend at her sister's funeral. When her child-hating boyfriend, Matt, realizes that she's serious about keeping her nephew, Ben, he dumps her and fires her as well. From then on she's on a manban. After Nora almost gets hit by another car in traffic, she realizes that Ben needs to know his father so he has someone else but her to rely on. Only her drug addicted sister, Lynn, never put the name of the father on Ben's birth certificate. She just told Nora a first name and that he moved out of state. That was almost 10 years ago.

When Nora starts to feel discouraged because she can't find another job, her deceased grandfather, Pap, comes back from the dead with a push in the right direction. At the bar/restaurant where she's applying for a job, the owner, Steph, bonds with Nora immediately. As she's leaving the bar, she sees a picture of her sister when she was just a teenager with a guy that looks just like Ben. That is Steph's estranged son, Davey Johnson, the NASCAR racer. It seems like her Pap led her to her family in one fell swoop.

Davey Johnson hasn't spoken to his mother in 11 years. She abandoned him when she divorced his abusive alcoholic father. At least that's the story he was fed. His dad died 10 months ago and seeing her at his funeral was a shock. What Davey doesn't know is that Steph suffered too many beatings before she finally walked away. But not without a fight for her son, her ex told her she'd never be able to support him or his love for racing. At the same time, she was diagnosed with cancer and was given a year to live. Nine years later she has her second chance.

Nora and Davey clash at every turn, but they have such an intense chemistry between them. Remaining platonic for Ben's sake, and her own, knowing that Davey doesn't like being tied down. His life's focus is the race. But Nora is slowly changing him for the better. He also understands her compassion for animals and how she can communicate with them.

When his world clashes with her beliefs, who will be choose?

NORA’S PROMISE is the type of romance that will not only entertain you but have you doing some deeper thinking about how you view life and the ways that decisions often lead to promises for the future that we never saw heading our way.

Nora’s life takes an unexpected turn when her sister dies and she becomes the guardian for her 9-year-old nephew, Ben. While she is grieving her own loss she also needs to guide a young boy through the many changes that are happening in his life as well. Unfortunately, the blows just keep coming as Nora’s not so child-friendly boyfriend (who is also her boss) not only dumps her but leaves her jobless on top of that insult. The most important person in Nora’s life now is Ben, and she will do everything in her power to protect and care for him. And that includes taking advice from a truly unusual source and perhaps trusting in fate as well.

Davy lives in the fast lane and never looked for or wanted anything to tie him down. Not relationships, not children. This NASCAR driver has one focus and that doesn’t include a son he never knew existed or his beautiful aunt. To his credit, Davy steps up and tries to become the father he wished he’d had… but it’s not going to be easy and there is a rough road ahead for everyone involved. It’s going to take patience, a change in attitude and love to bring these strangers into the future they deserve.

I enjoyed NORA’S PROMISE, it presents a story that is so much more than a romance between two people with sizzling chemistry but a relationship between three people working to blend together, understand each other and build a future. Davy and Nora have issues that make them very human and believable. There are a few twists that make this one interesting, and overall you’ll find a story full of life lessons and making choices that were never explored. If you enjoy a Romance with a touch more, one that goes a bit deeper into the heart and soul of people, then you’d enjoy this one.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This book was cute and sweet but the book seemed to drag on for me. Norah has lost her Sister and is now the care provider for her nephew. Circumstances lead her to break up with her boyfriend lose her job and find her nephews father.

Long story short it gets put together in a happily ever after situation with a lot of weird unnecessary stuff in the middle. It was okay but

With the sudden death of her sister, Nora becomes the new guardian of her nephew Ben. After years of not knowing, she finally reaches out to his father to allow them to reconnect. The blurb drew me in and I had high expectations which unfortunately weren't meant. I just wasn't able to connect with the storyline, content nor characters despite pushing myself through thinking it'll get better with time. By chapter 7 at 23% I had already knew this was a goner. I will also like to mention that there was something about the writing style that turned me off. Sadly, despite the interesting blurb, this just wasn't my cup of tea.
