Oh. My. Goodness! I was a HUGE fan of the Cincinnati books and was a little sad when they ended. I decided on a whim to pick this book up and LOVED the fact that this is like an extension of the series by linking characters from the previous series to this one. This first book introduces us to Special Agent Gideon Reynolds. Gideon was a member of a cult named Eden but is trying to move on with his life with the help of his close friend who are like family the Sokolov's.

When Daisy Dawson is attacked but manages to run free she enlists the help of her friend which in turn brings in the Solokov family and the meeting of both Daisy and Gideon. I absolutely fell in love with every character in this book and am very much hoping we get to see all of them feature somehow in the upcoming books to this series. There are. alot of threads running through this book and a lot of leads and avenues for everybody to follow up on. This is packed with action, drama, tears, romance and a splash of violence....there isn't really much that isn't covered to be fair.

Overall a thoroughly engaging book and I enjoyed it that much I moved straight onto book 2 (I can see me binge reading all three books in this series). Very much reccomended!

The first book in Karen Rose's Sacramento series. A brilliant beginning introducing Special Agent Gideon Reynolds has tried hard to put his past behind him. He escaped the violence of his cult upbringing when he was just thirteen, and since then routine and discipline have been his way of making sense of the world. But when a petite blonde woman crashes into his life, he begins to realize that a little bit of chaos might not be so bad.
Daisy Dawson has had more than her fair share of pain too - but she's done being a victim. Daisy's determined to explore every new experience she can - including getting to know the dark and serious FBI investigator she meets when she fights off a masked attacker one night.
It soon becomes clear that Daisy's attack was just the beginning. Now the bloodied bodies of young women are showing up all over California, and, as Gideon tries to find the killer, it's clear that Daisy is in more danger than they ever realised...
An absolutely fantastic enthralling start. Her characters are, as always intriguing. The detail she brings to her stories is second to none. She always connects some of her characters to previous series and that is a skill that makes her books stand out in the crowd.
Highly recommended read right her, thanks to NetGalley for the copy.

I’m a huge fan of all Karen Roses books and was so excited to read this one. Daisy Dawson is assaulted by a masked man she manages to fight and escape. She is the one woman to escape from this serial killer. As she flees, she manages to pull a locket from around his neck…a locket that belongs to the sister of FBI Agent Gideon Reynolds.
Karen Rose is a fantastic author she writes a gripping mystery with just enough romance thrown in not to interfere with the thriller aspect of the book. This was so well written and kept me on the edge of my seat until the last page. This was a high intensity, fast action head spinning book that I would absolutely recommend.

A new set of characters for a new series for Karen Rose. Love Karen roses book and this was no different.. A killer is on the lose and the two main characters both have something to do with it, one gets attacked and the other tries to find the killer. A good story with plenty of action but why do the main characters always fall in love so fast. A good story from Karen Rose.

Wow - what a fabulous story this was! Unbelievably, this was the first novel I have ever read by Karen Rose and was expecting more of a gory and grisly serial killer story.

I found it completely captivating and there was even a strong and steamy romance element which I loved.

“Say You’re Sorry” was gripping and very fast-paced and jam-packed with action and violence. The suspense takes centre stage over and above the romance.

Karen Rose’s impressive writing ability and a wonderfully solid plot made this novel a quality reading experience.

I will certainly be reading more by this author now I've had my first helping.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel at my own request from Headline via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Fantastic beginning of a new series by Karen Rose. A gripping thriller, yet always with the undercurrent of an attraction between the main protagonists running through it. I cannot wait for the second in this series! Write quicker Karen please!!!!

Karen Rose never lets us down. With this book she has started a new series and it’s just as fantastic as all the previous ones. She gets the mixture of romance and crime/thriller spot on-fluidly moving between intense romantic emotion to extreme violence and torture so easily that we are always on the edge of our seat and wanting to read more.

Amazing edition to Karen Rose’s complex and intelligent series. As usual., characters are intricately created from the two main protagonists to the criminal. Perfect plotting and a perfect example of romantic suspense.

Karen Rose's latest book features Special Agent Gideon Reynolds, a man who has overcome a tragic and violent past and Daisy Dawson, who regular readers will have seen a brief mention of in previous books as the second daughter of Frederick Dawson. Daisy is attacked by a stranger one evening and in the course of fighting back pretty effectively Daisy rips a locket from the neck of her attacker. The resulting investigation brings Daisy and FBI Agent Reynolds together as he has personal knowledge of the origins of this locket. It's not long before women are going missing and dead bodies are piling up and threats to Daisy's life see Agent Reynolds assigned to protect her.
As is the case with Ms Rose's writing there is a romantic element to the story and the details of this and the violence are gritty and raw.
I'm a huge fan already and this latest book is no different - a fast paced and taut thriller which I thoroughly recommend to all! 5 stars and huge thanks to Netgalley and publishers for the ARC.

I have previously liked most of Karen Rose’s books and mini series. This one however took me an unusually long time to get through. Up until about 30% I was considering putting it on my DNF pile. There’s an awful lot going on in this book, maybe too much? I’m still not sure.

3.5 stars

I don't usually read thrillers/suspense with a romance element to it and this was a great one to start with. This was full of drama but it never felt overdone and absurd. I'm definitely going to read more from Karen Rose.

Oh dear. Where to start with this one? It tells the story of Daisy Dawson who fights off an attacker one night and finds herself embroiled in a dangerous cat and mouse game with a serial killer. Firstly, the basic plot here was pretty interesting but it was completely obscured by really pretty bad writing and by being excessively long. I found the dynamic between Gideon and Daisy really problematic for a number of reasons, namely that he is an active FBI agent and she is a material witness and yet no-one seems to have an issue with them having a relationship. Completely unrealistic. I also did not like the power dynamic between the couple and thought that the three graphically detailed sex scenes were just unnecessary. All in all, this was just bad - it gets an extra star because I enjoy anything with a cult, but honestly, it isn't really worth the effort of 500 pages!
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Karen Rose is an auto-buy author for me as she writes such well-plotted romantic suspense novels with endearing characters that I always root for. I also love how she connects each book to others in the series and we often get the pleasure of meeting old faces. Say You're Sorry tells the story of Gideon and Daisy and, as usual, the romance was believable and had me turning the pages to see them get together. I can't wait for the next book in the series although I need Dani and Diesel's story first!

I enjoyed this story. It's the first book I've read from this author and was expecting more of a 'normal' gory serial killer story, but it was good that there was a romance going on and less gore. It was quite a long book and I did flick past the sex scenes (not too many). I will certainly read more by this author now I've had my first taste.

Another fantastic thriller from the queen, Karen Rose! I might be a little biased, as she’s an auto-buy author for me, but this lady can do no wrong!

Her recipe of action, suspense, violence, danger and romance gets me every time!

I love that her books are fast paced and no time is wasted on unnecessary descriptions. You’re plunged, head first, straight into the story on page one and don’t get to re-surface to take a breath until the last!

The powerful and intense relationship between Daisy and Gideon is heartwarming and beautiful whilst still being hot enough to make you blush! They’ve both been through traumatic events and are drawn to each other immediately. I really enjoyed their connection and the way they were able to comfort each other.

I also fell in love with the supporting cast, in particular the Sokolovs 😍 What an amazing family - I can’t wait to see more of them and I’m hoping that both Rafe and Sasha get their own stories.

I cannot recommend this book or this author highly enough. If you love a suspense thriller with a little romance then please give Karen’s books a go - you won’t be disappointed!
