Absolutely loved this book! It gripped me from when I started it and I couldn't put it down.

I knew something strange was happening but couldn't foresee the direction the book was heading in so it was a fantastic twist which came as a surprise!

I really enjoyed this book. A great psychological thriller/domestic noir in which Suzy has the ideal marriage to retired policeman Mike. They have two wonderful children and things seem to be going smoothly at last for Suzy who has had a troubled childhood. However, someone seems to be stalking her, someone who reminds her of her dead father.
I raced through this book, it was very enjoyable, but I did feel the motivations behind some of the actions of various characters were slightly dubious. There were plenty of twists in the story and I really liked the way the book ended. I would definitely recommend this book, thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an early copy.

This book is incredible. It kept me guessing from start to finish, and if you want a thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat, this is most definitely the one!

The story opens with Suzy, a deli owner who has, from all appearances, the perfect life: a devoted husband who is a stay at home dad, two adorable young children, a newly expanded deli business, and a beautiful home. Incidents start happening which make Suzy think of the father she had not seen since she was 6, and believed was dead. As the incidents increase, she thinks that she is being stalked, but her friends and family think it is merely a series of coincidences until one night when she wakes to the stalker standing at the foot of her bed.

Although that event makes her friends and husband realise she was not hallucinating, it prompts Suzy to find out more about her father. The stalking then culminates with a twist that I did not see coming until the end.

I loved the way the story built, and I felt every incident acutely alongside Suzy. I won't spoil the story for anyone, but it was a roller-coaster ride where every twist, turn and dip brought with it a fresh surprise. I have not read Cath Weeks' debut novel but I will certainly be checking it out after enjoying this one so much.

Thank you to Little, Brown for the copy of this via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I did enjoy this book. Suzy has just lost her mother and they fled from her violent father when she was a small child, so they had a very close r elationship. She is grieving but then strange things begin to happen and she believes she is being stalked. Her ex-policeman husband steps in and seems supportive and protective for her and the children. As events unfold you find that things don't add up and the story does become quite dramatic and full of suspense. I enjoyed it and did not expect the ending to be what it was - I wouldn't have guessed!!

I would reommend.
Thanks to NetGalley for my free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Suzy's Mum has recently passed away and whilst grieving, Suzy is also sure someone is following her. It reminds her of her Dad, a man who she hasn't seen since her and her Mum escaped him when she was a child.
Suzy is protected by her husband Mike an ex police chief, so she knows she is in good hands. But when events start to unfold, she's not really sure why she finds herself not living in the family home anymore and heading for a divorce and battle over custody of their children.
I found the book easy to follow, but somehow it felt a little disjointed in places and things didn't flow as well as perhaps they could have.

Thanks for letting me read this book. I really enjoyed it.
Suzy had lived with a violent father who had hit her mother physically and mentally.
She swore it would never happen to,her family..
Suzy thought she had a good marriage to her ex policeman husband and her two children until a stalker changed her life.
The book then got very interesting and exciting who was the stalker and why.
Would spoil the book if I said any more, read it for yourself.

Wow I read this book in a day as couldn't put it down. Suzy's character was someone I could really connect with, I even thought was she falling apart and imaging things but then as things escalated I started to have my suspicions about what was really happening. Suzy was very strong and I really enjoyed seeing her go from strength to strength fighting her demons in the past and the present

Sorry but this wasn’t a favourite of mine.

I found it really slow. I couldn’t take to the characters & I’m still uncertain over the ending.

Stalker fiction seems to be a significant sub-genre of psychological thrillers and this one is done very well. It’s a tense story which explores the effects of a stalker on a happily married woman. Things fall apart. Suzie’s fear both for herself and for her children is well portrayed. Can fear and grief cause the sort of irrational behaviour that can separate us from our nearest and dearest? I enjoyed this thriller. Tighter editing would have prevented an inadvertent swapping of Nicole’s name for Suzie’s at a moment of high tension. Otherwise, a gripping book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and was pleased to find my instincts were right. The story is based around what appears to be a closely knit, loving family, until after the death of the wifes' mother. Great story and a very challenging rea.

I have to say that I didn't really rate this book. Suzy is married to Mike and they have 2 young children. It becomes clear that something bad happened in Suzy's childhood, that she hasn't even told her husband about. Then someone starts stalking her. Could this be linked to the past? I found that the narrative was overloaded with irrelevant details of everyday life, which quickly became boring. I didn't particularly warm to the characters, and I found the denouement to be contrived and rather far fetched. Thanks to NetGalley for a preview copy.

A great mind twisting suspenseful book, that had me gripped from the start. At places it was heart breaking but Suzy is such a strong character that seems to get stronger through the book, the end was a brilliant closure.
Can't wait to read more from Cath Weeks.

The Wife’s shadow by Cath Weeks is a new author for me.
Suzy has the perfect life, two beautiful kids and a doting husband, who’s is a retired copper, who spends most of his time looking after the kids as Suzy is also is opening her own Deli. When incidents start happening. Someone starts following her and items suddenly appear out of now where that remind her of her past life when she was 6 years old. Her mother and her run away from her abusive father. She thinks he has turned up after her mother passed away recently. With all that’s happening with her life, Suzy and her husband Michael agrees that she maybe over thinking things, after what she has been through.
When I was given a copy of this by Little Brown I didn’t know what to expect. But I was actually surprised how good this was. This was a gripping page turner, that will keep you guessing through the book and some surprises at the end.
Thank you Little Brown Book Group for a copy of this book.
