This is the last book in the Jane Hawk series and what a finale it turned out to be. It’s a very fast moving storyline just like all the series has been and I found it hard to put down. The nanotechnology which the book is all about is a scary thought that could become all too real in the future. It certainly keeps you gripped. I would recommend you read the series in order as it will make more sense. I would recommend this book and series.

A great finale to this very modern thriller. I really enjoyed the whole series. The storyline was simple but unique and the characters were a fantastic blend of good, bad and totally unknown.

Definitely worth reading!

Thanks for letting me review this book

Dean Koontz concludes the insanely thrilling Jane Hawk series in fine style with a shocking leftfield conclusion. This has the feel of the Will Smith film, Enemy of the State, with Jane as the feisty stellar protagonist being ferociously hunted down, she is joined in her battle by the genius hacker that is Vikram Rangenaker and the few allies who believe in her. At the heart of the conspiracy is the Voldemort like billionaire, Wainwright Hollister, and his death eater government and private industry cabal of Techno-Arcadians. The pure evil that is Hollister is convinced of his godlike invincibility and the inevitable subjugation of humanity, with its 'adjusted' individuals, and technological slavery. There are engineered suicides and the wiping out of any person perceived to challenge his malignant vision, all of whom find themselves on the Hamlet List to be assassinated. On the Hamlet List is a film maker, Thomas Buckle, lured by Hollister to provide him with a deadly entertainment.

Jane has left her beloved 5 year old son, Travis, in safe hands but with all the powerful and ruthless forces arraigned against her, not to mention the criminal elements out there in society, how long will he remain safe? With Vikram avidly chasing the kind of information on Jane's enemies that will help to bring them down, her priority is to save Travis at any cost. Leading the hunt for Jane is the cruel Charles Weatherwax, a man who enjoys torturing people, and his partner, Mustafa al-Yamani with his aspirational dreams of the highest social circles, a Tom Buchanan wannabe from The Great Gatsby, in search of his very own Daisy. An enraged and drug fuelled Charlie and Mustafa become desperate to avoid being 'adjusted' as they find themselves being Vikramised. In the meantime, Jane feels there is only one way to try and overcome the conspiracists, but could it succeed and what price will it exact?

Koontz writes a tense and exciting conclusion to this excellent thriller series, fast paced with its short and snappy chapters, and which piles on the suspense and tension admirably right through to the unbelievable and surprising end. This is a series that is for all those who love nail biting and compulsive thrillers and for all Dean Koontz fans. Fabulously entertaining and highly recommended. Many thanks to HarperCollins for an ARC.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this gripping book

and what a book it is...the final in the series and i feel that i have gone 4 rounds with mike tyson, i feel battered and bruised

this book is high octane, fast moving and leaves you feeling emotionally drained...a few times i had to walk away from this book then go back to continue where i had left off...

nanotechnology and all what that can bring is the story behind this book in a very frightening way...people are injected and this nano technology forms a web around their brain and then takes control...some people dont know they are under and some are brainless thugs who are at someone whim...

it paints a very frightening portrait of what the future could be like

jane hawk and vikram are on the run to try and put an end to it all but along the way they are being chased by some very powerful people...with vikrams knowledge of computers and backdoors will they be one step ahead of those that are chasing them

its and edge of the seat type book but well worth a read...its one that will give you nightmares
