I LOVE that this is a murder mystery that involves a true crime podcast. As a podcast addict I thoroughly enjoyed this aspect of the story. A great thriller which offered me a fabulous afternoon of escapism. I definitely recommend this read. Thankyou to the publisher and netgalley for the ARC.

4-5 stars, another great read by A.M. Taylor! I found it to be very suspenseful and it definitely had me guessing many times, often incorrect in my guesses. The author made sure to develop characters, story, and weave it together amazingly. I thought it had some great thrills, chills, and twists. Highly recommend!

This is my favorite kind of psychological thriller/mystery. The main character was very relatable as were many of the other characters. i guessed who did it midway but it didn't spoil the book for me . and the ending was left unclear, wish there was a epilogue and a second book to follow. Downloaded the author's other book as i was reading this and would re read this one again.

This was such a fast read for me, which is only a bonus because normally it takes me 3-4 days to get through a book. This only took me 1.. Psychological thriller is my go to genre. I absolutely love these types of books and Innocent or Guilty? fit right in. The suspense factor was spot on. Totally had me guessing throughout this whole book, stunned with twists and begging more more. A.M Taylor knows what they are doing when it comes to writing.

This book was split between now and then, to start with I got a bit confused with the 'then' chapters as they weren't in the correct order, but as the book progressed I got used to this and understood it had to be done like this otherwise you would find out the ending too soon!

I loved the podcasts, I wasn't sure if I would like them, but they turned out to be one of my favourite parts of the book.

I did not warm to many of the characters, apart from Ethan and I would have liked to have heard a lot more from him.

I did guess where the story was going pretty early on, but it didn't spoil my enjoyment of it as I wanted to find out if I was right (I was) and what exactly happened. Overall an interesting thriller.

This is a difficult book to review! With the focus split three ways between a podcast, current events, and past events, the structure could have become a mess, but this author handled it really well. Mostly chapters flip between the current day, as the main character tackles the case she is currently working on as well as diving back in to the case that put her brother away ten years prior, and the past. In between that, the author has written transcripts of podcast episodes covering her brother's case, giving a second, less-biased view. The decision to walk the reader through the past backwards (very Memento-esque) was different and enjoyable to read.

I normally really like books about crimes and justice in small towns, but something about this one just didn't do it for me. I still can't put my finger on what it was, but it's disappointing when it's an aspect of a crime book that I do normally like. My other big issue that I'm surprised not to have seen in other reviews here is some of the decisions made by some of the characters (one in particular). Character wise, they just didn't make sense. It felt like pandering to the plot, including deception and omission for no good reason (or at least uncharacteristic ones).

Despite my many problems with the book I don't hate it; I'm just kind of confused.

When I started this book I was excited about the pace and that some of the text was in the form of a podcast and interview. The main characters are the podcast team and Olivia. They are searching for answers to this ten-year-old mystery. The mystery of how Olivia’s twin Ethan could end up incarcerated for a crime he probably didn’t commit.

The alternating chapters of Then and Now are interesting, but a few times do nothing to propel the story forward. And this includes being repetitive. However, I noticed this more toward the end of the book. So either it was happening throughout the story and I only noticed it toward the last, or possibly it was an attempt to stretch the book. Either way, what started out to be quite exciting, tended to drag toward the last third.

This is my first book by Taylor and though I had a few concerns with this particular plot, the story seemed well written. I did vacillate in my thinking of whodunnit throughout the book. Though when I came to the conclusion it was a surprise but was it believable? Hmmm?

The writing depicting the podcast was done well and was interesting. I also liked that the story caught my attention quickly.

Innocent or Guilty has a unique premise, based around the investigations of a podcast who are digging into the case of a man in prison for a crime he and his family say he didn't commit.

This was a real page turner of a book, I loved the character of Olivia. She is strong and determined. She wants nothing more than to prove her brother is innocent and have him released from prison. If that means going back to her hometown (where people are open with their dislike for her and her family) then she will do just that.

One part of Innocent or Guilty I particularly enjoyed were the transcripts from the podcast. It was so interesting to read what the podcasts thoughts where on the case, and seeing what people involved said to them 10 years after the crime.

The story goes back and forth between the present and around the time of the crime and Ethan's trial. I thought this was a great way of telling the story. It gave an insight into how Ethan found himself in the situation he has. He was far from a popular boy in high school so people were quick to believe in his guilt.

Innocent or Guilty is a really good book, A.M. Taylor has written a book that had me gripped and wondering if Ethan was guilty or not, and if not him than who? There are many other suspects and motives for people to have hurt Taylor, and I was eager to find out the truth.

This book was gripping from the very beginning. The way the story flipped between then and now to re-tell the story and unravel all the threads was done really well. I DID NOT SEE THAT TWIST. Honestly, I couldn’t have predicted it. I would recommend this book if you like a fast paced gripping story line which keeps you guessing right until the end. Revealing little snippets of information the whole way through meant it didn’t get boring or feel like it unravelled too quickly, which sometimes I feel when reading this genre! I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is that at times, bits of the story felt a little unrealistic/unbelievable but I don’t want to write about them here for fear of ruining the story.

A page turner of a psychological thriller. Fast-paced and well written. I enjoyed the 'then and now' method of story telling.

I am not quite sure how I am going to write this review because the wrong word or sentence could bring a huge spoiler alert and I really do not want to ruin this ride for anyone!

The premise is an exciting one and one that is more popular, of that a podcast team are used to look back at the murder of a teenage boy ten years ago. Olivia, agreeing to be part of this as she is on a mission to get her twin brother Ethan released from prison, as she knows he is innocent. Looking back at the clues you are constantly questioning if he is innocent or guilty and if he is innocent well who killed Tyler Washington?

I loved as we watched not only Kat and Ray, the podcast team but Olivia too working back the clues, going back to her hometown that she was ousted from. Not always a welcome reception when seeing old “friends.” At the same time, her job is demanding more of her attention as she is a lawyer, and her current case is defending a woman who is being convicted of murder, the girl she is defending….someone from her old town. Are these two cases connected or is it just a coincidence?

The alternating chapters of Then and Now made this book so much more intense. Because whilst we were seeing how the verdict ten years ago affects everyone in the present day, we got to see how it affected everyone back in the day making the story much more rounded and complete, plus more dramatic!!!!!

A small-town mystery, people in power blocking you at every step and a town that just closes ranks on outsiders – what is not to love! This is my first book by Taylor and she has created a little piece of magic here. She has you questioning the evidence, the people and the situation, can you really trust anything in front of you?

I know all I seem to be doing is asking you questions and I am meant to be reviewing the book, but this is what the book does. It really makes you question everything and that is something I blinking love! I don’t want a book to just tell me the answers, I want my journey to be immersive and inclusive and this is what I felt happened here. I felt like I had an opinion in both cases but, of course, I can not change anything! I did love the snippets we are given as the reader of the podcast, seeing/hearing things from interviews we were not privy to at the beginning which made for interesting viewing. Not all is as it seems it appears and the ride to the end is an adventurous and perilous one, one where you have to decide who is innocent and who is guilty.

I really want you to read it so we can discuss things that I can not discuss here. For my sanity alone, please do it!!

There are a lot of twists in this story that's told between the past and the present day. Trying to prove Ethans innocence was not going to be an easy task. I liked the drama and the build up to this story. The characters are well developed. 8 have never read a ook with a podcast in it so this made this book more interesting for me. You will need to read this book to find out the verdict. A quick read.

Well written. Captivating storyline where you don't know if someone is guilty or innocent.
I liked the storyline and Podcast parts I felt like it really added to the story, same with the parts at court, the trial.
Well developed with good characters.

Ten years ago, Olivia's twin brother Ethan was sent to prison for the murder of Tyler, one of the popular kids at the high school, an up and coming basketball star and also the son of the mayor of their small town.

Olivia, now a lawyer working within a top criminal defense firm, is set on getting her brother's name cleared. She gets the opportunity to do so by collaborating with a true crime podcast that wants to look into Ethan's case.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book, particularly the transitioning back and forth between the present day and events as they took place nine years ago. The transcripts of the podcast was a fun element to include as a way of revealing what may have happened to Tyler. However, I wasn't entirely "surprised" by any of the reveals in this book and the ending was predictable.

Innocent or Guilty? aka The Killer You Know is a book in which the genres of mystery-thriller combine to tell a compelling flashback tale of shocking secrets, divided loyalties, small-town gossipmongers and political manoeuvring. Olivia Hall is adamant her twin brother, Ethan, did not brutally murder the mayor of Twin Rivers' son, Tyler Washington, a decade ago despite him having been convicted and imprisoned for the crime. When a true-crime podcast takes an interest in the case having been approached by Olivia she can't believe her luck but it soon becomes clear quite how deep the conspiratorial cover-up goes. This is a well written and cleverly plotted novel with plenty of twists to keep most readers guessing. However, it could do with tighter editing as there is a little too much "filler" for my liking and it sometimes impacted the narrative.

I feel with a few sections or chapters cut out this would be a much snappier thriller. I also feel those who read crime fiction often will guess the outcome and culprit very early on just as I did, although it didn't mean I lost interest and continued in order to read about the surrounding circumstances. It's immersive and engaging and you feel as though you are living this right alongside the people of Twin Rivers. With a dark, tense atmosphere, characters that are both believable and relatable and plenty of emotion infused throughout, I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading this elaborate, addictive thriller. The ending will likely polarise readers - with some liking the way it is concluded and others being left with the feeling of incompleteness and apathy. Many thanks to One More Chapter for an ARC.

Ethan and Olivia Hall are twins but are nothing like each other. Olivia is the girl that everyone wants to know and be with and Ethan is well he’s the total opposite being a total loner. Life is good for the Hall family until one day Ethan is accused of murdering Tyler Washington, the Mayor's son.
The book is based around a true crime podcast which at first was interesting as I’d not read a book before with this in. The book bounces from then to now chapters and I followed this easily not getting mixed up at all. The problem I had with this book was the characters were unlikeable, even Olivia I didn’t like which was one of the reasons I struggled with this book, the other was it could have been shorter and snappier as it was I felt it was too long and several chapters where nothing happened. The ending was a letdown for me as it left me with as many questions as it did answers. There were parts I enjoyed it just left me frustrated at the end.
