Innocent or Guilty has been renamed to - "The Killer you Know" which in all honesty both titles are fitting for this book; but The Killer you Know draws readers in a bit more in my opinion.
**
This is a gripping tale of a sister wanting to do everything in her power to prove her twin brother innocent of murder. Because how can one now know who their twin really is? They shared a womb, they know each other inside and out.
Ethan and Olivia Hall are twins; and according to their friends, family, and neighbors couldn't have been more different. Olivia was the "IT" girl in high school; where Ethan was a loner with basically only one friend. It was mentioned even Olivia and him weren't close in high school. That is until Ethan is accused of murdering Tyler Washington, the Mayor's son. Olivia believed in her heart of hearts that Ethan wasn't the killer; and she went to law school to be able to prove it. Because the only evidence that put Ethan away, was Olivia's then boyfriend saying he saw Ethan enter the woods where Tyler was murdered about 30 minutes after Tyler himself when in.
As a decade passes and Ethan is still in prison Olivia enlists Kat & Ray who are hosts of a true crime podcast. They all hope will podcast will shed light on the injustice Ethan faced.
As you can imagine there are more than just one skeleton in this closet; and some people will do anything in their power to keep them hidden.
By the end will we really know who killed Tyler, or will turn out it was Ethan all along?.
ws readers in a bit more in my opinion.

Olivia Hall knows her twin brother didn’t kill Tyler Washington 10 years ago, even though he’s been serving in jail for it. So when she’s approached by a true crime podcast (think: Serial) about investigating the murder, she’s cautiously optimistic. But the investigation starts to reveal a lot of secrets people would rather stay hidden, and it soon becomes clear that the real killer is still out there. The podcast scenes were my favorite part, hands down. Kind of dark; not as dark as Gone Girl or Girl on the Train, but definitely hit some of those notes. A quick, entertaining read!

Oh how I enjoyed this book. I don't want to give away the ending but throughout the book I seriously wondered if that was what happened- ah! I have always been interested in the bond between twins and this book dug a little into that for me. I also loved the fun aspect of the podcast, something I have gotten into the past year so it was fun to see how one may work and get an idea for. Great read!

Innocent or guilty by am Taylor. Unfortunately I did not connect with this book, I liked the idea of it but was not fond of the writing style

Had it not been for the last chapter I would have given this book a solid 5 stars. There was plenty of intrigue and tension and I loved the way the chapters alternated between then and now. As Olivia began to realise that maybe not everyone at high school saw her the way she saw herself I even found myself thinking about my own high school days and wondering if my memories were accurate. Then came the ending and I have to say I was so disappointed, I actually felt cheated. Sorry.

Stars: 4/5

Ten years ago, Olivia Hall’s twin brother, Ethan, was arrested for the murder of her friend, Tyler Washington. In The Killer You Know, now called Innocent or Guilty?, written by A.M. Taylor, Olivia works to free her brother from what she knows and believes to be a wrongful conviction. She gets the help of a true crime podcast that has already had two cases reopened in past seasons. As the podcast digs deeper into the story, many lies and secrets are uncovered, but can they really find who the true killer might be and clear Ethan’s name?

As a fan of thrillers, this one fit right into the mold for me. I thought the story was fast-paced and never seemed to drag on. Once I started this book, I read it pretty quickly, caught in the grip of a well-written “whodunit” story. What sets this thriller apart from others, and what I particularly enjoyed, was the use of a podcast. It really became a modern world thriller and, as a fan of true crime podcasts, I just ate it up. The podcast became a unique element that sets this story apart from all the others. I also love the back and forth that A.M. Taylor uses to jump between the current time and that night, ten years ago, when Tyler was murdered. It always makes me keep reading so I can get to the next part!

If you like thrillers and you love true crime podcasts, then you might just like this thriller with a true crime podcast thrown in! Check it out!

Ethan has been jailed for the murder of his school peer but did he do it? A decade on his twin Olivia is doing her best to get him freed. Signing up for a podcast series to uncover the truth, the story is set both in the present and a decade ago as the truth is uncovered. In a town where everyone has secrets where does the truth lie? A twist at the end that I saw coming but I didn't see the path that the author would take to get us there. A good solid read. Recommended.

I just could not get into this book and had to give up about a quarter of the way through. Good premise, but not what I was interested in reading.

10 years ago Olivia Hall’s family was shattered when her twin brother Ethan was convicted of murdering schoolmate Tyler Washington, but did he actually do it? Ethan claims he’s innocent and Olivia believes him. In present day she enlists the help of popular podcast Shadow Of A Doubt to dig deep into Ethan Hall’s case and soon realizes not everything is as it seems...
This book kept me on my toes and wanting to know what was coming next! It has great twists and turns and the chapters alternate between “Then” and “Now” which I love because it keeps my interested and intrigued! I would definitely recommend this book!
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins for the e-ARC of this book!

Liv has always believed in her twins innocence, Ethan has been convicted of murder, she becomes a lawyer to overturn the conviction.

Kat and Ray, true crime reporters, run a padcast, interviews from those who knew the victims, takes you back to murder.

This book was a fantastic read. It took a few chapters to get into, but definitely worth the wait!

The Killer You Know by A.M. Taylor, now called Innocent or Guilty, did not dissappoint. The writing style was fluid in a now and then plot. The storyline sucked me right in and I demolished this thriller in no time. The characters were very realistic and well thought our. With a bomb shell ending that had my mouth gaping open, I really didn't see that coming. This is one you should add to your list if you are looking for a fast paced thriller.

Olivia Hall, Ethans twin sister has always believed Ethan was innocent for the murder of friend Tyler. Tyler was found dead in the woods after a final summer party that would be the last before everyone went off to college. Now nearly 10 years later Olivia brings a teue crime podcast to town to cover the murder of Tyler. Olivia wants to try and bring the truth to light and get to the bottom of what really happened to Tyler. New information keeps coming to light, deceit and lies from the police department, hidden key evidence. Will Olivia regret putting the v town bank through all the turmoil and memories of the murder? Will they find the killer? Will Ethan finally be exonerated? Remember things aren't always as they seem.

I lost interest a few times throughout this, but I think part of that was me not being in the right headspace rather than the book being bad. The ending was odd though, and while I did want to find out what happened enough to finish it, I felt it dragged a bit. Not the worst I've read, but not the best.

This book was excellent! Totally kept my attention and I wanted to find out what would become of the main characters. Highly reccomended.

It took me a few chapters to get into this book, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I felt emotionally drained by the time I had finished it. Innocent or Guilty takes you on a rollercoaster ride as you try to work out what happened and "who's guilty". There are a fair few twists and turns, so strap yourself in, and prepare for an immersive ride! I was taken right back to my own teenage days and found myself feeling uncomfortable at times, as I heard what this bunch of kids were getting up to. This book is definitely one I will recommend.

I really didn't enjoy this book. It started out as a good story. The podcast was interesting, and I thought Olivia was going to investigate the old murder her brother was framed for. But after a boring middle and a boring end where it just kind of stopped, I was left disappointed. I skimmed a lot because I was bored, and I feel like the ending was terrible.

Compulsive reading, this is an addictive suspenseful psychological thriller like no other.

The plot is unpredictable with lots of twists and turns along with solid engaging characters.
There is also a sense of dread as the story deals with the deep and dark corners of the human psych.

I very much enjoyed this and would recommend it to anyone!

I loved this book! It was so addictive and so easy to read that I raced through it! I loved the idea of the storyline and the characters, especially Ethan and Kat were brilliant. I loved the drama....the build up....the twists....and the end! I had been wondering all the way through whether I would be right at the end, and I was but the book leads you everywhere but there! It took no enjoyment out of the book for me, it was still brilliant and I would recommend to all crime and thriller fans. Will be reading more by this author :)

This book has come just at the right time as more and more people are enjoying true crime podcasts. There is a definite feel that the author themselves have listened to and become well acquainted with podcasts such as Serial, Criminal, My Favorite Murder, etc. Interesting concept, less interesting plot. All in all, pretty enjoyable.

Liv Hall was your typical popular cheerleader type girl growing up in Twin Rivers. She had it all. She had a great boyfriend, a wonderful family, all the friends you could ask for or did she? What lies under the surface?

We have a novel that starts out in the present when Liv is all grown up and has become a lawyer. She is working on a case that hits too close to home. As she tries to move forward, Kat and Ray, true crime podcasters, approach Liv because they want to feature the murder of teenager Tyler Washington on their show. A crime that took place in Twin Rivers just after Liv’s high school graduation. The convicted murderer is her twin brother, Ethan, who is sitting in prison for the crime. But is he guilty?

I enjoyed Innocent or Guilty. The murder, the mystery, and the podcast dimension were all well-done.

I admire this author for going in that direction. Jumping back and forth from present-day to ten years ago in the narrative was a wonderful touch. Taylor’s characters have wonderful personalities, the good and the evil alike. There are some characters that I hated, but this is a powerful emotion to elicit from a reader. Great love, and/or exceptional hate are marks of great characters written by a powerful author.

Unfortunately, I must say that the story did drag in some parts. There is only so much we need to know about a few aspects of the book. The whole mystery was somewhat lackluster until the very end when there was some real excitement, and let me tell you, there was some real excitement! My pulse was racing and I was sweating profusely during the last several chapters of the novel!

Consequently, even though the book did move a bit slow, I still urge you to read it. Anyone who loves a good murder mystery/thriller should give this book a try. I award Innocent or Guilty 4 stars out of 5, mostly due to the dragging and the overlap of some points. Otherwise, great book and a fascinating way to spend a weekend.
