This was a fun, quirky read! I love these modern books (the Star Wars too) as they bring fun to stories that we all know. I feel that this a great way to introduce Shakespearean language to an audience.

Interesting take on Back to the Future. Setting it to read as if Shakespeare had wrote it is fun to read. I did not find it as charming as others he had wrote. But it is still a fun bit of reading.

Back to the Future is a film I've seen more times than I care to count, and i have read plenty of Shakespeare for both study and enjoyment so I had high hopes for this. I was looking forward to seeing how the storyline of the film and Shakespearean English combined.
Unfortunately, it just didn't work for me. I like the idea of Pop Shakespeare, and really wanted to enjoy this but it didn't hold my interest enough to really engage me.

A fantastically clever take on a much loved movie, this is sure to be a hit with well read fans! Some of the speeches feel overly complicated, but the style works consistently throughout and the illustrations are utterly wonderful.

I absolutely love the movie Back to the Future and I love Shakespeare. So when I came across Ian Doescher's Get Thee Back to the Future, I had to get my hands on a copy. That said, I didn't love it as much as I thought I would.

What I will say is that it is very well written. I think it requires great talent to convert Back to the Future into a Shakespearean format, in iambic pentameter to boot. That is a feat in itself. The play is very accurate accurate adaptation of the movie. But perhaps it's too accurate? The speeches are very long. I just didn't find it as engaging or entertaining as the actual movie, which left me thinking, why make it Shakespearean at all?

As a teacher I found this great. I teach Shakespeare but obviously most of the kids I teach would prefer to read something they know. The idea to put a well known film in the style of Shakespeare was fantastic and this is one I will definitely use in the classroom to engage my Middle Schoolers.

I really like the idea of reimagining Shakespeare in the current age, and part of me really geeks on Shakespeare AND Back to the Future. However, there are places in the play that just don't translate, and the retelling becomes a bit forced.

This is a funny and engaging title! I love the versatility of this book and its potential for the classroom. As a high school English teacher, I can easily see how this can be used to supplement the curriculum when my students study Romeo and Juliet, and the students will love being able to immerse themselves in a familiar story.
