I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more about the Highwater family! Life has not always been easy for Shane Highwater or for Liliana Jones, but they both strive to do the right thing even when they are on opposite sides. I liked how they had to work hard for their happy ending, and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the supporting characters.

This was a love story that almost wasn’t because Lilliana blamed Shane for her fiancée’s death and nothing could convince her Shane was one of the good guys.
This one has some real good writing, like about a kiss that she could almost feel it emblazoned in her mind forever, I mean that is some good writing.
I was rooting for Shane all the way, but I almost gave up.

THE LONE STAR LAWMAN by Justine Davis is a sweet small town romance! Shane is the Chief of Police and Lily is a newspaper reporter. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to the next book!

A fabulous way of starting a new series, with a romantic couple that goes from enemies to lovers and a group of vibrant, charismatic side characters claiming their own stories.
Justine Davis’ superb, crisp storytelling and her wonderful talent creating a setting which we love is an important element in “The Lone Star Lawman”, where two strong individuals butt heads in opposite sides.
Shane is a gorgeous hero, a person with courage, self-sacrifice, integrity and honesty; and the fact he’s an “unassuming hunk” makes him so much more alluring.
Lily’s obsession and agenda are a bit at odds with a reporter’s need for objectivity and impartiality and her blind persistence on it isn’t the thing we’d expect from a smart person.
I loved the way they slowly woke up to each other’s selves, although I wanted a more substantial romance development.

Lawman Shane and reporter Lily have been butting heads for a long time. She blames him for her fiance's death, and he struggles to avoid her if possible. Naturally, sparks are there and attraction grows. Liked this one, and the characters and issues were interesting to read. Hard to put this one down, and highly recommend it.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book in a new series. I really enjoyed the book but I kept feeling like I missed something that happened before this book. We meet Shane Highwater and Lily Jones in the first book. Lily is a reporter for the town of last stand’s newspaper and Shane is the chief of police. When the story begins, Lily is convinced Shane caused her fiance’s death in a car crash that ended badly. There are secret parts to the record that Lily isn’t privy to. She has a grudge against Shane and is trying to find some dirt on him. There is a bad accident and the crash results in a fiery crash. Shane tries to save the victim, putting himself in danger. Lily learns he did this too for her fiancé and she apologizes and becomes more pleasant toward him. There is more to her fiancés history then she is aware of. Shane gets permission to share it with her. It is devastating and she reacts in an appropriate manner. There is more angst and some romance in the story. All in all, it’s a wonderful read. Five stars for this.

The Lone Star Lawman by Justine Davis. A great first book and start to the Texas Justice series. This book had great character development perfect for the storyline and a great setting.
I look forward to seeing what the next book in the series brings to us.

This is Shane and Liliana’s story. They went from being amicable towards each other to “Shane being Liliana’s target of revenge. Follow this by Lilliana finding out the truth about “Chad” her so called boyfriend.
Lily apologizes to Shane and then sparks fly!

This was a really good book, and a great start to a new series....Shane was just dreamy and it was fun to read the banter between him and lily. Well written, with good characters. Really felt for Lily as she begins to question everything she believes to be true...just makes you realise not everything is as it seems

Texas. Lawman. Cowboy.
Honest, honourable man. Caring brother.
It was enemies to lovers romance. Weren't celibate from first time they seen each other.
I liked this book a lot: the writing, plot, characters.
Faithful
No OP scenes

The story of Lily and Shane.
For the last few months, Lily and been hostile towards Shane, blaming him for the death of her Fiance. He is the police Chief so remains calm and doesn't let her get to him.
All changes one day when she realises she was mistaken, and now she owes him an apology. Will they give in to the attraction between them?

Looking forward to more from this author - hoping there will be books for the rest of Shane's siblings next!
