You know the feeling when you are tired of the winter and long for the sun? Although we had a lovely week here as well you know it won't last and you are counting the days. If a holiday is not really on the horizon yet, you can certainly escape by reading this story.

The author takes us to sunny and hot Tuscany where she regales us with a bit of Italian culture and history. But don't worry if that is not quite your cup of tea. There is plenty more to enjoy here. If you are more into a love story, then this will be your kind of book. 

This book should come with a warning though. Make sure you have a snack handy, because the description of the dishes is simply mouthwatering. Foodies will love this.

The way this author outlines the details is divine. You are not reading about Tuscany. You ARE in Tuscany. You can almost feel the sun, see the views, smell the food. 

After reading this story, it felt as if I had been on a mini break and I could not agree more with the author : sunshine does solve a lot of problems.

Fun, sun and beautiful landscaping are the perks of this book as we are whisked away to Italy with Maisie and her friends. An absolute delightful read that had me flipping through the pages.

Maisie felt a sense failure as her marriage dissolved and the recent loss of her mother. Maisie found herself beginning to struggle with depression and anxiety. Her doctor suggested a vacation where she could relax and spend some time in the sun. As luck would have it she won a trip to Tuscany for two! She grabbed her friends and us and we were all emerged into the charming culture and sights of Tuscany.

This book was so atmospheric I could feel the warmth of the sun and the smell of the fresh pastries baking. The local residents in the quaint village were so welcoming that it helped to mend Maisie's broken heart. In a village where everyone knows each other, the presence of the newcomers defiantly did not go unnoticed. I found myself wondering how different this trip would have been if she has still been with her ex husband when she won this dreamy trip for two.

Heartwarming, fun and an easy read this book will bring a smile to your face as you flip through the pages. I was instantly transformed into the warm Tuscany lifestyle. Thanks for the vacation Sue Roberts! It was much needed.

Maisie's had a bad run of luck and THEN she wins a trip to Tuscany. Along with her friends Emma and Cheryl, she finds herself in a delightful villa on a farm. And THEN she meets Gianni. You might find this a familiar plot but Roberts freshens it up with nice characters and a twist that will keep you turning the pages. Thanks to net galley for the Arc. I was looking for fun and relaxing read, and My Summer of Love and Limoncello ending up being perfect. I loved following Maisie as she rebuilt her life and rediscovered her life. And Italy was the perfect setting to do this in! All the descriptions of food and the cities of Italy came alive for me. I think I need to book a trip. Check this book out if you’re needing a fun escape!

Enjoyable read, I did feel could have done with a bit more romance, I’m not saying it has to be gushing with it, but felt the moments were a bit rare and wasn’t quite feeling it. Details were a bit lacking too but a sweet nice read

I wanted to love this novel, I really did but it was just okay. Since travelling around Italy this past summer and reading other travel literature novels set in Italy, I was really hoping to get lost in a cute story and a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, this novel just didn't live up to what hooked me into wanting to read it. The characters were so one dimensional, and the dialogue was painful at times as it was so out of touch with how 20/30 somethings talk. It felt like all of the conversations were contrived and cliche. I think the best part of the novel was the descriptions of the food and wine. Having been to many small towns in Italy myself and reading another novel actually set in the same Tuscan town as this novel, it was shocking how every character they interacted with spoke English. This is truly not the case and made me a little more cynical when reading.

Overall, if you're looking for a light and fluffy read that is set somewhere you'd love to travel to or imagine traveling to, this book is fine, but I just don't think it did enough to represent the beautiful countryside of Tuscany and towns such as Sorrento, Siena and the magical city of Florence.

This is a well written book in the genre 'chick lit'. Maisie has been going through a rough time, with the death of her mother followed by the infidelity of her husband and the collapse of his business. Then she finds herself in Tuscany with her two best friends, and together they embark on some self-discovery, as well as many mouth-watering meals, in this idyllic paradise, stuffed with eligible and handsome men.

It all sounds trite, and the plot is fairly thin, but the characters are well rounded and the author draws you into life in Tuscany so you can almost feel the sun on your shoulders. It is an easy read and enjoyable.. Maisie, Emma and Cheryl are thoroughly likeable characters, with insecurities we all can identify. Perhaps most unbelievable is the fact that everyone they meet speaks fluent, idiomatic English!

A fun, upbeat summer read.

This is a sweet story of love in Tuscany. Filled with loads of details of the scenery, food, wine, and Italian hunks, it will make you want to go over for a holiday yourself. especially if you're single. ;)

If you're not a fan of detail, you probably won't enjoy it a whole lot and find yourself skipping to the romantic parts, which can be a bit sparse and feel a bit more matter-of-fact than moments that fully engage the senses. Nevertheless, it's very readable, and a great beach read.

My Summer of Love and Limoncello isSue Roberts’ latest book. If you want fun, friendship and a Mediterranean setting then this book is for you. It follows the story of Maisie, happily married to Harry until she catches him cheating. Thankfully she wins a holiday to Tuscany and jets off with her best friends Cheryl and Emma. Throw some delicious food, sightseeing and hunky Italian men into the plot and you’ve got a fantastic story. I read this on a couple of days as I found I couldn’t put it down. This was a pleasant enough book to read. Maisie wins a holiday at a villa in Tuscany and goes with her 2 friends.

She has an accident and ends up falling head over heels for a local Italian. She also discovers talents she didnt know she had, and makes some life changing decisions.

Quite charming, but i found it very similar to Daisy James new book Wedding Bells at Villa Limoncello.

I love seeing a new Sue Roberts novel pop up, they're lighthearted, enjoyable and make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This cover was just as beautiful as her others. It really catches the eye and makes you want to read it. The bright colours certainly drew me in, I love the open green fields, the colourful blue sky and the pretty flowers and houses dotted around. The title is also another thing that just sounds to summery! I was wishing for warmer weather when I was reading this!

I will say that this novel starts off a bit slow and to be honest, a little bit all over the place. One minute Maisie is with her husband and the next she's talking about going to a different job and you're sat there thinking - when did she get that? However, after the first few chapters this levelled out and I ended up really enjoying it. Although, I did feel that it was a slightly different style of writing than the usual Sue Roberts' novels I've read. This one felt slightly more serious than her usual really easy and lighthearted reads. As I say though, once I got through the first few chapters it got a bit better to read and I started warming to the characters more.

With main character Maisie, I felt that she was way too serious at first. When her bag got mixed up at the airport, she seemed to think that she had got some really important bag and when I first read it I was kinda thinking that she was being a bit over the top but as I keep saying, the more I read the more I enjoyed. I did really feel for Maisie, she had been through a lot in her life and I could completely understand why she was the way she was. It must have been awful to have been through those two horrible experiences and I really found myself connecting with her as the story went on. I loved the secondary characters such as Emma, Cheryl and even Gianni and I enjoyed reading about their idyllic sounding holiday and loved the setting.

Tuscany sounds beautiful and now I really want to visit! The food all sounded absolutely delicious and I'm warning you now that once you read this, it will make you hungry - constantly! The second half of this novel had all of Sue Roberts' usual banter and warmth and I was soon dreaming of being in Italy and wishing for summer to come! Another great novel by this talented author. Maisie is having a rough patch in life. Having discovered her husband is cheating on her, she loses her job, her home and so much. Her dad and friends are supportive, but it’s just not great. Then she wins a holiday in a village in Tuscany. Oh, the Tuscan sun and scenery of the villa/farm where she is staying is so delightful. Sitting here reading in the winter, it warms me. Her 2 best friends travel with her and what adventures they have. Having been to Italy and Tuscany several times, I love that dinners end with a shot of limoncello! I might just break out that bottle sitting in my cupboard! Will Maisie stay in Tuscany or will she return to England and re-create her life there?
This was such a delightful read. I loved the scenery, the characters and the sense of feeling you actually feel in Italy that life should be savored, not rushed.

Maisie has had a rough go of it the last little bit – her husband was cheating on her at their work, catching him not long after losing her Mum and still worried about her Dad. Squeaking by in a little one bedroom flat and working two jobs, her already depressing situation is preying on her mind, as she’s worried about her depression returning and gaining more of a foothold. She’s tired of the Liverpool rainy and grey days, is finding it harder to just ‘brush off’ little annoyances, and feeling stuck as she can’t afford a getaway. But, her obsession with entering contests for travel abroad turns up a winner, and a prize of a week’s stay in Tuscany with some spending money arrives in the post. Feeling like she’d like her two best friends to come along, soon Maisie, Emma and Cheryl are soaking up the sun and ambiance in a holiday apartment, with nothing more than a week of sunshine, sights and good food ahead.

Far from being a travelogue story, although we are given moments in Florence, Siena and Pisa as well as the little village near the apartment and the accommodations themselves, the story is a rebirth for all three women: giving them a change of perspective to look back on their lives at home in Liverpool and to think of what they may want. Most daring of all, surprisingly, is Maisie, for with her marriage ending, and nothing all that exciting to return back for, an accident in which she was hit crossing the road in Florence may just have provided her with the clearance to think seriously about staying, at least for the summer. With a budding romance with Gianni, son of the couple that owns the holiday let, and an offer of a job from a local vintner who needs help with customers after their vineyard and tasting tours, she’s got opportunity and options open – and a new outlook as both the sunshine and the lifestyle seem to suit both her mood and her heart.

Much like the other two I’ve read from Roberts, the “escape for more” feeling and plot is strong in this book – and the characters manage to grab every opportunity with a spirit that is lightened and enhanced with the weather and the ‘vacation’ vibe. With solid characters, some seriously lovely descriptions of food and wine, and a clear glut of bonhomie and heart warned in the Tuscan sun, the story is that perfect getaway read for the rather dull and grey weather as spring seems so far away.

My Summer of Love and Limonchello is about Maisie who after finding her husband cheating is in need of something positive in her life. Upon winning a holiday she decides to take her friends with her for some sunshine and to escape. With the Italian sun on her skin and friends by her side Maisie is in the right place to forget her past, especially with a hunky Italian around too.
This is a delightful read where summer sun and friendship is what is needed.

If you want to get lost in Italy with Italian hunks and good food, this is the book for you! This story is heartwarming and captivating and I felt myself get lost in the Tuscany setting everytime I picked up this book. Will have you in a summer haze in no time!

What a delightful read! Maisie wins a holiday following a break-up from her husband so takes her 2 friends Emma and Cheryl to the very picturesque sounding Villa Marisa in Tuscany.

The friendship group of Maisie, Emma and Cheryl was brilliant - this trio were firm friends and that came across despite being miles apart at times.

Naturally, given the title has 'love' in it, there are a few very hunky Italian men that catch Maisie's eye, farmer Gianni seems to be the easy frontrunner. His family own the holiday apartments Maisie is staying in so she spends time with him frequently. I was worried their relationship lacked depth but as the story wound on, it was clear Gianni had genuine feelings for Maisie and vice versa.

Full of warmth, humour and culture with snippets of Italian history when we as readers are treated to visits to Florence and Siena amongst other places.

An enjoyable storyline that didn't rush to a conclusion - with the descriptions of all things Italian I was happy to immerse myself in this book!

Poor Maisie hasn’t had a good couple of years, her doctor thinks she’s depressed and quite honestly after losing her mum, her cheating husband and her home she needs some luck.
She ends up in Tuscany with her two best friends and together they find out a little more about themselves and the lives they lead. I absolutely loved the story sometimes though I think the author over explained things but it didn’t stop the overall captivating and believable description of living in Tuscany. I want to visit now! This is for all who love, romance, food and a good book.
