What a roller coaster ride! Hold on to your hats as you navigate this book.

When the book first started and we find out that Ella has lost all memory of the past 7 months. Damien her husband helps her to move past the accident and the death of their son, or so you think.
Nathan tries to help her to remember him and what the shared.
Good luck unraveling this story. I would REALLY like a sequel! I NEED to know what happens when dhe uncovers the entire truth!

I read this book, synopsis unread, loving all of the works by Kerry Lonsdale. Last Summer was not what I expected.. I found the subject of memory suppression fascinating. While the story had many twists and turns, sub plot on top of sub plot, characters you’ll love and hate, most importantly, the story kept me entertained and turning pages until the very end. The ending was completely unexpected and left me asking for more.

Another great novel by Lonsdale! What would you do if some of your memories were erased? Would you want them back, knowing it might hurt your marriage? This is the dilemma Ella finds herself in when she wakes up in a hospital bed, unsure of how she got there. This story kept me engaged and involved in Ella’s journey to uncover what was lost and make sense of her relationships. It’s a quick but entertaining read perfect for those who are looking for a little mystery, a little romance and a bit of a twist ending.

I was drawn into the novel from the first pages and immediately intrigued to find out what would happen next. The story had a lot of twists and turns, overall an excellent novel. Definitely worth picking up, and very difficult putting it down.

I finished the book but found it hard work. The main characters weren’t likeable and their selfish actions didn’t make for a good story for me. I found the memory control and it’s antidote a ridiculous device. Not for me. I won’t post review elsewhere as it’s not more than 2 stars.

I am a huge fan of Kerry Longsdale & have read all of her books! I was so excited to be an early reader for her latest & greatest, Last Summer. This book will not disappoint.
It revolves around Ella whom is a journalist who recently lost her memory & ended up in the hospital with no memory of getting there or her life the past year, after being in a car accident. Her husband Damien is not helpful with filling her in & she does not understand why. Ella is given a second opportunity to interview the famous adventurer and she hope he will be able to help her with filling in her memories.
The story between Ella, Damien & Nathan is full of lies, deceit, love & trust. It is full of twists that you never will believe!!
I highly recommend this suspenseful read.. I was unable to put it down & the end will just blow you away!!

I was having trouble writing this review because I was trying to say nothing but really good things about this book because I really wanted to love it, when the truth is, it kind of fell short for me. It was a really great book in a sense, but I felt it was lacking something, like some grip. While the plot was fantastic, and there were twists and turns, I found myself struggling to get through the more mundane parts, and there were more than plenty of those. I felt the same about the Everything series. There seems like there are many areas where the book stalls out, just sort of filled with flat words and descriptions. However; I did want to keep reading, the ending was incredible, and made it worth the read. 3.5 stars for Last Summer.

Last Summer took me on a whirlwind journey that I'm still reeling from! This story was masterfully weaved together with the perfect amount of suspense, mystery, drama and romance. Ella Skye has an amazing job and life with her handsome, successful and dedicated husband Damien Russell until the day she wakes up in the hospital with part of her memory gone. Her selective memory loss includes an accident which caused her to lose a pregnancy that she can't remember. Pieces of the past she's forgotten come to light intentionally or so it seems as intuition pushes her to continue digging for the truth. When Ella meets Nathan Donovan, someone she's "forgotten," she uncovers more secrets, lies and keys to unlocking what she so desperately tried to forget. This story pushes the limits on what people will do in the name of love and has easily become my favorite by Kerry Lonsdale. Ella Skye's story will stay with me forever and keep me wondering what happened next.

As a fan of Kerry Lonsdale's Everything series, I was ecstatic to receive an advance copy of her upcoming book. It did not disappoint! This book follows the story of Ella Skye, a journalist who is used to learning and sharing everyone else's secrets. The tables turn this time... She has lost her memory and is working hard to remember events of her own life, very important events. She wakes from a horrible accident, to find out she has lost her unborn child and the worst part is she is unaware she was ever pregnant. She has no memory of it at all, so how can she mourn? This will soon create a divide with her husband as she struggles to fill in the gaps. I give Lonsdale credit, because I was sure I had the ending all figured out, but was surprised! And to me...being surprised makes for a great read. Special thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for the free, electronic ARC of this novel, received in exchange for an honest review.

Ella wakes up in the hospital not being able to remember the car accident that cost her the life of her unborn baby, in fact, she can’t remember being pregnant at all. She tries to figure out the missing parts of her memory and she discovers secrets, lies, and betrayals along the way. The story kept my interest the whole time, I found the characters intriguing and I did not predict some of the turns and twists in the story. I could not put the book down, I was curious to see how it would end. The book also made me think of what I would do if I were in Ella’s shoes and what choices I would make. I honestly did not care for her that much and I found her husband Damien and Nathan, the retired adventure TV celebrity more interesting. Nevertheless, the book was entertaining and fun to read. Kudos to Kerry Lonsdale for writing another great novel.

Lonsdale, fresh off her popular Everything series, shines with her page-turning stand-alone Last Summer. Readers will immediately be drawn into the story of Ella Skye, a journalist who finds herself hospitalized with short-term memory loss. Suddenly, nothing is as it seems. Not her marriage and not the man she's been interviewing. As she tries to piece together the chunk of time seemingly lost to her, the reader is taken on an exhilarating (and sexy) journey with a surprise twist you won't see coming. Readers, prepare yourself for a fun ride this summer!

I want to thank Author Kerry Lonsdale Netgalley & Lake Union Publishing for the arc of this novel.

Wow, I really don’t even know where to start. Rarely does a book catch me off guard, I usually have the ending figured out before I’m done with the book. Honestly I thought I had with this one too, but boy was I wrong! This book kept me so interested I couldn’t put it down. This was one of those books that I was up until the wee hours of the morning because I had to know how it ended. It did NOT disappoint.

This book follows lifestyle journalist Ella Skye who is assigned to many high profile clients. She meets and marries Damien, the man of her dreams. Life is good until Ella wakes up in the hospital after a car accident and a miscarriage. She also wakes up with no knowledge or memory of ever being pregnant. This sets a very determined Ella on a course to recover all the previous months she can’t recall. In the process, Damien seems off and not forthcoming with all of the details.

Ella is given a follow up assignment for a second chance cover interview with celebrity Nathan Donovan. A shocked Ella, takes the assignment because she has no memory of her previous time with the elusive man and thinks that Nathan may hold the key the her memory loss.

Ella is swept up in a world of love, lies and deceit. Unsure of who she can trust, including her own mind. This book is full of twists, heartbreak and a desire to achieve the happily ever after, at any cost

Great googly moogly. That was such an amazing trip I just took. Come closer. I am going to admit something here. Generally, I know what I'm going to rate a book before I even finish it. A bit short-sighted, but whatever. They're my ratings to do with what I like. With this one, I loved the story, I loved the writing, I loved the characters, but something was bothering the heck out of me. And it was fact that this woman rightfully had so many questions, and she let all the people who could give her the answers off the hook time and time again. She let them placate her with all kinds of versions of "we'll talk later" or "not right now" or "after we have coffee" and myriad other excuses. It was infuriating. I was getting all "bitches be crazy" and thinking that there is no way in hell that anyone would have gotten away without answering every last question I had for one moment longer even if I had to lock them all in a room together and threaten to take away their cell phones so they'd HAVE to talk. So, I knew I was going to rate this 4 stars...and I kept plugging along. Now look back up there - yep, 5 stars. What turned it all around? Because it certainly wasn't my belief that any woman in her right friggin mind would be gullible enough to allow herself to be so easily shut down. Not to mention that our heroine is a journalist. She digs for the truth as her chosen career for all that is holy. Nope, it was the twists and turns this story took. There is such deceit and treachery and manipulation in the storyline, and it was brilliant. I did roll my eyes once and thought, "do you really expect me to believe this?". However, I picked my eyes back up, put them back in my head, and just went with the story. I stand here loudly clapping my hands and bowing to the talent and creativeness of Kerry Lonsdale. This is one author that I will easily read time and time again, just to see what she comes up with next!

I received an ebook ARC for review purposes

I really enjoyed the majority of this story-it grabbed me from the start and I hated to put it down! There were a couple of parts that felt a little forced (for lack of a better word) to me, but overall this was a very solid book. That being said, I would still recommend this to anyone who enjoys psychological thrillers, twisty turns & endings, and plenty of drama. This will leave you wondering if you can ever really know the person you’ve chosen to spend your life with....
Be on the lookout when this is released in July!

Whoa! What did I just read? I had to re-read the last few chapters several times making sure I caught everything! It has more twists and turns than an old country road! I loved the characters and they are so complex with many layers. This book takes you on a ride and asks the question who can you trust? It is a story of secrets, lies, love, and betrayal. This is a definite must read book if you love suspenseful, thrilling books! I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are my own.
