Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

this isnt my favorite book especially since this author wrote the Bronze Horseman which was just everything. This book ranges from annoying to interesting and I just never could accept the main character she was far too annoying for me. I wanted to love this book. Maybe I need to come back to it at a later time for a fresh look at it .

I had high expectations for this book but I was disappointed.

Firstly, the love story between Julian and Josephine is not believable. They are both unlikable and don't appear to have any chemistry. I can see what the author was trying to do but their interactions just fell flat. I actually hoped the story might pick up after Josephine's death but Julian became more unbearable.

My main problem with the book though is when the story moves to the past. I have no problem with time travel as a plot device but it needs to be done well. I have read a lot of historical fiction set around the Tudor period and I have a decent knowledge of the language of the time. The author's use of words and grammar in this book is way off and it was so jarring that it was funny. It was so awful that I would have stopped reading if I had not accepted this book in exchange for my opinion. I definitely will not be reading the rest of the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a free e-copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I was very excited to receive a copy of 'The Tiger Catcher' by Paullina Simons. As a young girl, I had read her novel - 'The Girl in Times Square' on numerous occasions.

The novel tells the story of Julian - a young and carefree man who whilst admittedly doesn´t have the most exciting life, is quite stable in his work and relationships. Like a hurricane, the beautiful and passionate Josephine rushes through his life. Julian falls in love and just when he feels like his life couldn´t be any more perfect, he loses Josephine through a series of unforseen circumstances. At his lowest point, he is given a second chance to find Josephine and he sets off on an adventure which will have unforseeable consequences in his own life and for those closest to him.

Whilst enjoying to read this novel, I couldn´t entirely sympathise with Julian and I found it difficult to warm to his relationship with Josephine, particularly in light of her betrayals. I want to read the rest of the trilogy to see what will happen with Julian and Josephine, however at the same time am not convinced about the relationship between the two main characters.

Having read the Bronze Horseman series and Tully I was excited to read the latest offering from Paullina Simons. Unfortunately this novel wasn't for me as I found the characters vacuous and the storyline flimsy. I wish I could get it more than one star but I was left disappointed.

This book had an interesting premise but unfortunately the characters didn't feel 3-dimensional or very likeable.

This book wasn’t for me at all, I couldn’t connect with the characters or the story.i found the story by the end to be unbelievable, the writing was good but not enough to make it for me.

Well if ever there seemed to be a match made in heaven, it would seem to be me and The Tiger Catcher by Paullina Simons. I mean it’s Paullina Simons (who I’ve adored in the past) and it’s time travel. I would have been swiping right as quick as I could, if this was on tinder. But when we met in real life, there was no real chemistry, I think we’re just destined to be lukewarm friends.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE TIGER CATCHER BY PAULLINA SIMONS

My rating for this one makes me a little sad. I think Paullina Simons is an amazing author and time travel is one of my favourite themes in books, so my expectations were probably way too high. Darn it, I wanted to love it and scream about it from the rooftops.

Instead I’m whispering lowly that it’s ok. I loved the theme of souls reincarnating, and that side of the book was great. And I enjoyed Julian, the main lead. However I disliked Josephine, and hated her in her previous life as Mary. And because of that I found it hard to buy into their love story. It’s hard to fangirl about a romance, when you think one of deserves so much better.

I will still read on in the series, I liked it enough to do that. But I won’t be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for it’s release.

WHO SHOULD READ THE TIGER CATCHER?

Hmmhh, I’m not sure. I don’t think all her previous fans will necessarily like this, or even all time traveller fans. Maybe if you like flawed characters, and don’t hate insta love?

It's the first book I read by this author and didn't know what to expect. Unfortunately I DFNed the book as it failed to keep my attention and I couldn't care about the characters.
It's well written but it's not my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

Oh I was. So very disappointed in this book.. I think I have read all of Paulina Simons other books and loved them all so I couldn’t wait to get started on this one but I just found it a hard slog with no rewards.

I was thrilled to receive a copy of this latest Paullina Simons book.

The writing is her usual, brilliant standard and it is obvious from the first third of the book it is going to be another love story on the scale she does so well.
However the remaining two thirds this book does not match the quality of the first. Attempting to avoid plot spoilers - the plot becomes, fantastical, unbelievable and poorly imagined.
I persevered to the end but have been left very disappointed by this book.
