Harry Touchstone investigating a murder in Vancouver. Lots of chase sequences but I didn't know where I was and could have done with a street map. Lost interest in the end.

Oh wow, if I could have given this book 1 / 2 star I would have.

This debut novel is perfectly awful. I couldn't find anything redeemable about it. I didn't like Harry, and was apathetic about the other characters in the story. The story is disjointed with some skipping about. I do not believe that I will try this author again.

I want to thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for forwarding to me a copy of this – err, book for me to read and review.

This is a weird story of a detective who I presume is hired to search for construction and building fraud. I say presume, because it was never really explained as far as I read. Harry wanders around the area, seems to eat and drink at every opportunity, is continually trying to sneak past shady characters he encounters everywhere, and ogles the boobs, short tight skirts, and half unbuttoned blouses of his foul-mouthed secretary, Willow, whenever she is in sight. It was such a struggle to try to find the plot with all this other stuff going on that I just gave up. I honestly admire the reviewers who actually read the whole book.

Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me with a copy of Harry One Sigh for review. I wish I had passed on this one.

Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the eARC.
I always look forward to reading books set in Canada and love most of them...unfortunately this wasn't one of them.
It features Harry Touchstone, a detective in a small town. When his friend, a graduate student, and her researcher, are killed, Harry decides to investigate.
More murders follow and then his secretary (who's the poster child for every self respecting hardboiled detective, ugh!) is raped. But I didn't really care...
There wasn't much in the characters or the story I could get into, it just wasn't my kind of book. Sorry!
