YES.... back to Ragmullin we go for another crime thriller to be solved by Lottie Parker, I just love this series! Lottie is on the case when two local girls are murdered and found in a doss house with their throats slit and plain round silver coins left under their bodies, the killer's calling card perhaps?.... one of those girls is the daughter of the local councilor so as always the pressure is on Lottie.

In the meantime, Conor Dowling who was found guilty of aggravated burglary and sentenced to 10 years in prison comes back to Ragmullin, is the timing right? Is he back to exact revenge on those who helped put him behind bars?

As and aside, poor Lottie never gets to deal with just work, her personal history/family is coming back to bite her in the ass once again... with Leo Belfield back in Ragmullin (Lottie's half brother who is an NYPD Captain) having managed to get their other half sister a day release from a secure psychiatric unit... you know things are not going to end well!!!

As for the Lottie's captain at work, can I offer that I would just like to slap him about the face with a wet fish, he is the most impersonal prat I have ever had the displeasure of reading about, what an absolute ass, where is his empathy to Lottie's situation, to him, its all about HIS reputation, HIS budgets etc grrrrrrrr

Venting done, I absolutely loved this book, I love this series, I can never say a bad word against them, they reel you in and grip you from the getgo, its like a rollercoaster which so much going on and twists and turns, your neck will be sore, is it too early to ask when the next one is ready???? #Agirlcanwish!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Brilliant. I love this series and the characters and this, the sixth in the series, is as engaging a read as the rest. Lottie’s fresh start is at risk as her past and old cases threaten those closest to her. Great character development as the main and sub plots collide. Ragmullin again is rocked by crime and it’s a race against time for Lottie and co to find the culprits as the bodies continue to stack up.

I've read all the previous Lottie Parker books by Patricia Gibney and really enjoy this series, so for a richer reading experience start with 'The Missing Ones'. It was great to be back with Lottie in Ragmullin on her latest case. It centres around a serial killer who is after young girls. As always there's a lot of Lottie's personal life in the story, I like this, and enjoy following the ups and downs of her complex and highly stressful life! I didn't find I wanted to grab and shake Lottie so much in this book; she has been known to drive me crazy at times! It's good to see her trying to let in the good influences, like Boyd and come to terms with the past loss in her life. It is frustrating to see this journey take such a long time, but grief is frustrating and seems never-ending. Lottie is now finding a way to move on for her sake and for those around her.
So back to the crime - there's threads in this story that will eventually collide. A man is released from prison after serving a 10 year sentence; two women go missing after a night out and are found murdered; a property developing team find something disturbing whilst building and for Lottie someone from the past is able to return and once again threaten both herself and her family.
I think my main 'eye-roll' (sorry Patricia) is that Lottie's children are again in danger - boy are they an unlucky bunch! I like to see them in these books and their continuing story, but I think I am starting to be pulled out of the story when it's one of the family that is in danger again? They'd need a permanent councillor living with them to cope - lol!
Anyway, besides from that, I always enjoy these books and am really looking forward to the next one. Many thanks to Patricia Gibney for all her work on creating these for us! I'm a happy reader!

This is the 6th book in the Detective Lottie Parker series. There is a serial killer on the loose murdering young women and soon the case hits too close to Lottie and her family.

As with previous books in the series the plot is suspenseful and the characters and their interactions are real and engaging. However I thought the writing got somehow too descriptive in some parts, thus, slowing down the pace. But overall an enjoyable addition to the series.

Thanks #Netgalley, #Bookouture, and #Patricia Gibney for a chance to read this book.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for an ARC of this book, in exchange for an honest review.

This sixth book in the Detective Lottie Parker series is the first I've read of the series. The story is fast-paced and suspenseful, but it was obvious from the get-go that there were mistakes made in past cases that influenced the present. The main character is very likeable, but her detecting skills... seemed all over the place. The phrase "round up the usual suspects" kept crossing my mind, because that's as far as she seemed to get, and lots of frantic activity, sleepless nights and the attendant inability to think straight didn't help. Plus the demands of the story put the Parker children way more in harm's way than should be right if Lottie's character was true - and it doesn't seem to be the first time that's happened either. An entertaining, but not an especially memorable read.

Well I am now a fan of Lottie Parker !! This is my first book in the series but I am off to buy the rest !

Final Betrayal is a page turning, twists and turns book.

So many dead bodies.

I can tell you that if I am missing or in trouble , it's Lottie Parker and her team of detectives I want on my side.

The other side of Lottie is her family. What can Lottie do to protect her children? Love that family.

Don't worry if you have not read any of the other books, the author makes it an easy transition to follow. Can't wait to read more of Lottie's exploits.

Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the opportunity to read Final Betrayal .

This series is one of the best in current crime fiction. Lottie Parker is a fascinating character with a complicated past and a difficult present, whose personal life is often closely linked to her cases. This is certainly true in Final Betrayal when her nearest and dearest find themselves in danger because of her work. The plot is involved but always engrossing and I was gripped from the very start. Excellent.

Book six in the Detective Lottie Parker series. Another absolutely riveting, gut gripping and unputdownable book from Patricia Gibney!!
Not alone is Detective Parker dealing with what appears to be a serial killer, but after moving into her new home with her three children, hoping to make a fresh start after her previous home was intentionally burned down, someone has targeted both her and her family.
Had this read in record time!! From start to finish it was brilliant!! Literally can't wait for the next one and the outcome for Lottie and Boyd!!!!
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this arc.

Final Betrayal Patricia Gibney

The sixth book in the series, where has that time gone, and every bit as good as the rest.

The small Irish town of Ragmullin is again going to be devastated by murder.

When two women go out on the town together, they get separated, one of them pulls and the other can’t be bothered to wait around for her friend.

When one of the women is reported missing Lottie starts to investigate, she soon finds out that both are missing, and it’s no surprise when they are found murdered.

The killer has left a clue, or is it their signature, but what does it mean.

At same time two other things are happening. A man is released from prison after doing 10 years for a serious assault which eventually ended in his victim dying; and Lottie’s family comes under threat from within.

With Lottie concentrating on the murder of the young women, the last thing she needs is her half-brother meddling in her life, but he does, and he opens a real can of worms.

Part of the investigation see’s the Police covering old ground. A property developer is renovating the Old Courthouse. He’s not the most honest of people and has been on the peripheries of investigations in the past. Has he stepped over the line this time, or is he just a puppeteer trying to manipulate people to get his deals done.

Inevitably this book races to a thunderous end.

Patricia Gibney has a way of writing a story that has so many threads. It’s a bit like the rail tracks just outside of a main station. Lines running parallel to each other, and occasionally crossing, before they end up at the same destination.

In this case the threads cross numerous times as the different incidents, and investigations, drew close to each other and either crossed or veered off again. This made for an epic compelling story

I look forward to getting reacquainted with DI Lottie Parker every time a new book comes out, and I’m yet to be disappointed. In fact, every time one comes out, I make the same mistake of picking it up and starting, not realising I’m going to get very little done until I’ve finished it. Yes, it happened again, I read this book over two days, well I did have to stop to sleep.

This is book six in the series. Can it be read as a stand-alone, yes. Should it be read as a stand-alone, no.

If you haven’t met Lottie Parker yet start with first book and read them in order. You will get so much more out of them if you do.

This is the 6th book in the series of novels about Detective Lottie Parker a widowed mother of 3 children and a grandmother to one child. Someone is murdering young woman in her town and leaving a silver coin at the murder site. Lottie races against time to find the suspect before more women are killed. Lottie's character is a likeable person and the relationships she has with her team are spot on and interesting to read about. Lottie is also worrying about the escape of her crazy half sister Bernie and hoping that Bernie is not coming after Lottie and her family. When Lottie's two daughters disappear after 4 young women are murdered her fears maybe coming true. Sometimes I thought there were a little bit too much of descriptions but all in all I enjoyed reading the book with it's suspenseful plot.

Detective Lottie Parker has been handed a missing persons case that quickly becomes a double homicide. Amy and Penny disappeared after a night of clubbing at the same time that Conor Dowling, a dangerous man with a hatred of Amy was released from prison. When the bodies are found, there are coins in the hands of both dead girls. The killer is obviously making a statement, but what is it? And while all the evidence points to Dowling as a perpetrator, the man has an alibi. The discovery of two more murdered women has the press and the public screaming for an arrest and while Lottie is desperately searching for answers, her own two daughters disappear. This is the sixth book in this fantastic police procedural series and while the books can be read as standalones, why would you want to miss the first five?

So I have a little confession to make. This is the first of the authors books I have read. Shocking I know! I usually try to always read books in a series in order but sometimes for some reason this goes out the water and you start quite a bit into it instead.

Having not read any other books in the series I did worry that it may spoil my enjoyment somewhat but I needn’t worry. The author gives enough background so I knew what I needed to know from previous books but I will warn you that as soon as you finish this one, you will be racing to buy the others!

I have to say what a book to start with in the D.I. Lottie Parker series. From the opening chapter I knew I was in for a dark and gripping read. Lottie and her family have moved into their new home which should be a fresh start for them all, sadly someone seems to have other ideas for them. Lottie not only has that to contend with but her and her team are working on trying to catch what looks to be a serial killer in their midst.

There are so many heart stopping moments that had me hold my breath. I was carried along by the authors writing, making assumptions along the way. Lets just say nil points to me as I totally got it wrong.

Final Betrayal is a story that is guaranteed to set your pulse racing. I was totally hooked and enjoyed being part of this thrilling journey that I was taken on alongside Lottie whose character I really enjoyed. Without a doubt I will be going back and reading the rest of the books in the series as this just ticked all the boxes for what I look for in a crime series. Great read!
