Imagine a world where your closest family and future husband have been taken and having no idea from one day to the next whether they are alive or dead; that is Kaiya's harsh reality. She can't move on and hopes for their safe return and to avenge their kidnapping. Forbes writes fiction that explores systems of governance and power and the psychologies of those who live within them. That makes this a timely and fascinating, if slightly uncomfortable, read and a meaningful and chillingly plausible storyline with flawed, realistic and well-developed characters.

I honestly didn't know what to expect from this book, but I am glad I picked it up. Self-published authors don't get enough credit in my opinion; I genuinely hope that this gains a decent readership as it certainly deserves to and is reflective of the times in which we live. And the Righteous Shall Punish is a highly entertaining and profound novel. Many thanks to Weapenry Co-Op/Alexander Forbes for an ARC.

This book, given the climate in which it has been written, is haunted by echoes of the truth that make it an uncomfortable read. The story line itself without giving anything away was terrifying and all too plausible, and the characters matched this
