Chatty romance book thoughts:
This was my first time reading a Helena Hunting novel and after finishing this book I can certainly understand the popularity of this author. I enjoyed the flow and writing style of the plot (this won’t be the last time that I choose to read this author), and for a book that is packaged so prettily it certainly dealt with some less than flowery topics really well. I did like the obvious chemistry and history between this couple and overall I really enjoyed how this author wrapped up this romance story.

Why not five:
My expectations were a little off kilter with this novel - what I was anticipating was a rom com with plenty of steam and banter (It’s true what they say don’t judge a book by its cover). Instead this book was at a much slower pace than I anticipated with a theme of some heartbreak. I could certainly see the appeal in this storyline, but similarly I would also find myself easily distracted and wishing that the story would move on at a quicker pace. Unfortunately, I also found the heroine to be on the side of annoying and the hero a little lack lustre. However, I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy my time with this book just not enough to have me raving from the roof tops. All in all a likeable romance with an ending to swoon over.

This story was just so cute! I feel like it was a good balance between romance & sweetness and family drama & angst. An enjoyable and fast read, perfect for when you just want to read something easy and fun. The characters were very endearing and I felt for all of them.

I believe that if you only want something romance centric then this won't be the book for you, although it features some quite explicit scenes that might satisfy your need for steaminess. At the end of the day, I can't say that this is the best book of all time, but I certainly had lots of fun reading it and it truly kept me entertained.

This was a cute book, but it took me a while to really get into the story.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed “Meet Cute” quite a lot and look forward to Helena Huntings next book.

Good lord this book is packed full of cliché. Right from the moment you start reading, it's as though every single rom-com trope has been pushed into the first few pages. I'm sure to the regular romance reader, this book would be a fluffy and enjoyable read for its lack of depth, but I couldn't keep myself from rolling my eyes most of the time. Unfortunately, I did not finish this book, and I'd struggle to read anything more from this author.

I immensely enjoyed and devoured this book in two sittings. This had a very strong female lead who has worked hard to where she is in life. The lead man was fallible therefore making him so much more endearing. The storyline was great with a element of suspense to it.

I am keen to seek out other books by the same author.

This was such a cute story!

I really enjoyed Kailyns character. Kailyn is kind of quirky, awkward and totally endearing with such a big heart. I liked her relationship with Emme and my heart hurt for the poor young girl and everything she went through!

Daxton is a strong male character, he is charming, confident and so sure of himself until it comes to Emme! To take on such a commitment is admirable which draws the reader in to love him even more.

Daxton and Kailyn were completely adorable together! What starts as a few shared meals, shared conversations, back and forth barbs and one totally hilarious trip to the 'red aisle', soon turns into steamy encounters, off the charts chemistry and a heaping dose of doubt.

The situation was real, the feelings raw and the story well written.

4 stars!

I have to say that Romance is not a genre i particularly enjoy in general but i did receive an Arc of this from Netgalley and thought i would give it a fair chance.
This was a very sweet story , it has more bite than your usual Rom-Com and tackles some serious topics tactfully.

Bits of it were charming, bits of it were fairly cringe for me but overall the plot wasn't too bad. I did have issues with the villain though, she seemed almost cartoonish and predictable in terms of how "villainous" she was.

I really liked the characters, and I especially liked the fact that the main character, Kailyn, has a bad ass job and is super intelligent.
