It’s an uncomfortable truth that women tend to settle at work: they accept responsibilities that are not exciting for them or acquiesce to situations that may not be to their advantage. Glambition author and entrepreneur Dee Rivera refers to this behavior of settling for less than what you’re worth as “shrinking to fit.”

In her book, Rivera shares her personal journey towards self-empowerment as well as real-world advice in order to achieve this.

The book also contains real-life testimonies of women leaders to serve as examples for women int heir journey towards self-confidence and competency.

This book wasn’t really what I expected. I only read one third of the book. It is very important to be ambitious and work hard for it. Yet it is very important to work for it. The author seemed like someone seeking attention. since I wasn't able to finish this book, I cant really write more than this.

Many thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the ARC.

Apart from the abnoxious title, Glambition is just not a good book. The author comes across as a whiny, entitled princess - it was incredibly difficult to either relate to or care about her. The information presented was also neither new nor useful, as anyone with a shred of common sense could figure it out on their own. At least it was a short, quick read...

UGH! Do yourself a favor and skip this waste of a book.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

I get why this book had to be written. The message it carries is important however, it was not its time. This book felt incomplete and I am not talking about the length.

People write short books all the time and they are brilliant. This was not one of them. The quotes didn't help either. I would have preferred if the author would have used her own instead of those overused ones. It showed sloppiness and a high level of laziness. This author should have waited before publishing this book just so that she can get it right.
