This is the first book in the series of The Outback Brides of Wirralong.
This is the story of Lacey and Cameron and what a fun start we have for this new series.
We are back in the town of Wirralong in outback Victoria, Australia. This is a town that loves weddings, and you are going to fall in love with the characters of Wirralong,
This is a fun quick read that you can read in a day. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and I am looking forward to reading more books set here.

Lacey is a steamy story meant to excite and make you connect with the characters as you sweep along the Australian setting. It is definitely a book I would recommend for those looking for a fun read.

Lacey is a stand alone book, but is part of the Outback series. I have enjoyed all the books in this series and recommend reading all of them to fully appreciate the stories of all the characters. McArthur makes me feel like I am visiting the Outback which hopefully I will be able to do someday.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. This is part of a series written by different authors. Not connected except by location. Cute story. Lacey and Cameron. Poor Sergeant ends up helping deliver not one but two babies!! 3 1/2 stars

Once again we return to the outback these are characters that we first met in the in the Tule outback brides This time we are finding out about Lacey Jerome and the local police officer Cameron James There had always been sizzling attraction between them but neither had acted on it until one night she is there for a wedding and is also celebrating the finalisation of her divorce The next day she returns to Perth to sell her home and get her affairs in order but she has taken a little something home from that one night encounter. Cameron has his own code of ethics he lives by and when Lacey returns five months later he is surprised to see she is pregnant but what is the secret she is keeping and how will it all be revealed You are in for a bumpy ride with these two stubborn people both as hard as the land they live in. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it was a pleasure to read something actually set in my own country Think it may be time for another outback adventure

After reading the Outback Brides series, I was happy to find another book with all the fun characters back again in Wirralong. And where does the story begin: off course on a Wirralong wedding. When Lacey decides for once to have fun since her divorce is final. She is finally free from her abusive husband. So she has a one night stand with Wirralong's most wanted bachelor: Cameron, the local police officer.
Cameron is the love 'm and leave 'm kind of guy, who doesn't do commitments. So, his worst nightmare is when he is called from his one night stand with Lacey to help rush a woman in labour to the hospital. As a midwife, Lacey offers to help him. When she helps delivering the baby in Cameron's car, Cameron confides in her that he would never want to have children.
On her trip back to her ex-husband to settle the belongings, she finds out she is pregnant. Not wanting to be in another relationship, she decides to stay away from Wirralong until the baby is born. But when she is eight months pregnant, she gets called back to Wirralong. And even worse: Cameron has to come to her rescue, since she can't make it to the hospital. Unknown to Cameron, he helps Lacey to give birth to his own son. So... how can the bachelor and the independent woman come to an agreement to raise their son? Find out for yourself in this wonderful read. Three out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Lacey is a cute and engaging novel about fate taking control over and over. Both Lacey and Cameron are determined not to fall into relationships because of all the murk in their lives. Fate offers them the opportunity they need to face the future that awaits them.

An easy read set in a country town of Australia.
A recently divorced young woman still a bit skittish of controlling men is attracted to the local cop. Wedding fever has them spend a night together. Returning to town 8 months later she has a huge surprise for him. He never wanted fatherhood, she doesn't want someone just because there is a baby. Circumstances throw them together, can they put aside their past histories and make it work.
This looks like it's going to be a fun series and I'm looking forward to reading about other characters in this town.

Wirralong is such a great town to “visit” and I love that this new series builds upon the prior so we continue to see favorite characters. Lacey and Cameron have a hot night that ends up very complicated - on many levels. Coming off a marriage to a controlling narcissist, Lacey isn’t looking for commitment and Cam is just not interested in a commitment - until Lacey. Even without complications, his night with her changed him profoundly. Add in a little surprise 9 months later and trust and communication issues and there is a lot for this couple to work through for an HEA.

Lacey by Fiona McArthur is the first book in the new series called "Outback Brides of Wirralong". It´s in the same genre as the other series called "Outback Brides" as it´s situated in the same town called Wirralong. That said, if you liked the other 4 book series, you will also love this one. It´s such a romantic, well written story, that you just can´t putt down until the last page. It´s filled with heart, warmth and romance. Great story.

Most of Lacey's friends are happily married. Due to a very unhappy marriage, she avoids relationships. She meets Cameron and there's a strong attraction between them. Cameron is a police officer in Wirralong and Lacey is a midwife. After one sexy night, they decide to make it a one night stand. There are complications afterward that bring them back together. Will they be able to come together and love each other? This is another book on the series Outback Brides of Wirralong. It is a short book, but I loved it. Can wait for the others. I received this book from Net Galley and Tule Publishing for a honest review.

3.5⭐⭐⭐ I loved returning to Wirralong and catching up with the characters we came to know from the Outback Brides series. In this chapter we meet local policeman Cameron, and Lacey, who has been hiding out in town from an abusive husband. After a one night stand, Lacey disappears for 8 months and then returns pregnant. I loved Cameron, I thought he was a lovely guy despite his reputation as a ladies man. I thought his desire to be a dad to little Ethan was lovely, especially since he'd been so against fatherhood. I wasn't a huge fan of Lacey, I could see where many of her issues lay, but I found her behaviour towards Cameron to be dismissive and unfair. After they both race to rescue a second pregnant woman, things begin to change on the relationship front. This was a nice read with a HEA.

Thanks to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for a digital copy in return for an honest review.

If you enjoyed the original Outback Brides series, then here’s your chance to head back to a lovely destination for weddings and romance with four new brides and their unique grooms. (and if you didn’t read the original – well, now’s the perfect time to give that one a try)

LACEY brings us a couple disillusioned by life and love, neither really looking for more than the moment. But, as often happens, life had other plans for Lacey and Cameron.

Both Cameron and Lacey had issues to be dealt with before a happy ending would be in sight for them. Their story is told from alternating points of view, so we get a better idea of what is going on in those heads of theirs, and just how wrong they are about certain facts.

There are a few twists, but for the most part, this is a lovely romance between two stubborn people who need to bend and compromise a bit to find their own happiness. I enjoyed myself in this world, it was fun to run into some old friends from the first series – that’s always a bonus for me.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

It was wonderful to take another visit to Wirralong, the revitalized Australian town of the series Outback Brides. Lacey by Fiona McArthur starts off this new series of Outback Brides of Wirralong. This story of confirmed bachelor, Cameron James and once-burned-by-love, Lacey begins at the wedding of the one of the Outback Brides. Everyone is in attendance so I know this story is going to be great. Like seeing old friends once again at a happy celebration. However, it is not necessary to read the first four books to love Lacey.

What could have easily been just an “opposites attract” story turns quickly into a story with major complications. I really like the different events that this story brings to the lives of Cameron and Lacey. They must learn to work together, trust each other and find the greater good all the while they are also falling in love. Life is exactly like that sometimes.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Outback Brides of Wirralong Lacey by Fiona McArthur
Nine months later…
Lacey Jerome had always fought her attraction to sexy police officer Connor James, but one crazy night, she let her hair down and fell into bed with him. Their night together turned more passionate, more soul-scorching than she’d imagined it could be, but mixed messages from Conner had her fleeing the scene.
Now, she’s back in Wirralong with the memories of their one-night stand etched into her mind and a mission to reconnect with the man who made her lose her head in the most delicious manner.
Conner never forgot Lacey — and not for lack of trying. He has his own restrictive code, but somehow his thoughts always manage to wander to the newly returned beauty. He has questions and Lacey knows all the answers.
This is Connor James and Lacey Jerome's story.
Cameron James, Wirralong’s sexiest single policeman had arrived. He exuded raw masculine power and a devil-may-care sinfulness that made her want to sigh from behind a curtain as she watched him walk by.
the speeches where he had the dubious honour of wishing Ben and Holly well.
The meal had been consumed, Cameron had excelled at his speech, or at least Holly had looked very pleased with him, which meant Ben was over the moon, and most guests had just stood to move toward the band and dance floor set up outside.
Lacey clasped her empty hands. ‘I wouldn’t mind a cuddle.’ Maggie was the only one who knew about Lacey’s life before Wirralong. She whispered, ‘It’s a little ironic I divorced my nightmare of a husband yesterday and sit here for a wedding today.’
Maggie patted her arm. ‘I think it’s auspicious. A sign of a fabulous new start for you.’
Lacey lifted her head. Friends were wonderful. ‘It is a glorious day. And your garden feels olde-worlde romantic.’ She held up her hands in mock horror. ‘Not that I’m looking for romance. But the fairyland grotto does make me laugh.’
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
I highly recommend reading.

Set in the Australian Outback, in the town of Wirralong, where weddings and happily ever afters have become the trend, one couple discovers the consequences of their one night stand. Will the love of their baby be enough to bring them together?

Lacey is enjoying a wedding with her friends, on the night her divorce is final, when Wirralong’s hottest police officer sits beside her. Lacey gives in to Cameron’s flirtations and she soon finds herself spending the night with him at his house. When Lacey returns to Perth to collect her belongings and wrap up the sale of the house, she discovers she is pregnant. Lacey doesn’t return to Wirralong until she is eight months pregnant. She soon finds herself in early labor with Cameron rushing her to the hospital. But, they are too late and Lacey ends up giving birth on the side of the road with Cameron right there helping her through it. Lacey wasn’t ready to disclose the identity of her baby’s father, but Cameron figures it out when he sees baby Ethan has a birthmark that is identical to his own.

Cameron is a dedicated bachelor. He doesn’t plan on getting married or ever having children. But when he discovers he is Ethan’s father, he starts to have a change of heart. Now, Cameron has to convince Lacey that they will make a good couple and he can be a good husband and father.

This was a fun and emotional book to read. It was short, but lots of details were packed into the pages.

This was a quick and easy read that I enjoyed. Even though it's a spin-off of a previous series, I wasn't too left out by not having read the backstories of some of the other characters.

I love books set in Australia, and this book could have been set in any small town. The characters were often as funny as they were charming. The support of the group of women was touching and comforting at the same time.

Where I felt this book lacked was that I didn't get a strong emotional connection. It was as if being told how Lacey suffered at the hands of her ex was supposed to be enough. And at one point it seems to state that she'd met her ex three years previous to the events in the book. Which, if she's been pregnant for nine of those 36 months, and separated for months before that, doesn't seem to be enough time for her to have suffered as much as she claims. (How soon after meeting did she and her ex get married? Cutting her off from family and friends is a slow process. Yes, he was controlling, but nothing that seemed to indicate the level of fear she supposedly had.) It was just a jumble of inconsistencies like that which had me not loving this book as much as I'd hoped.

Still, I enjoyed the book enough that I am looking forward to the next in the series.

The story of Lacey and Cameron.

They get together at a wedding - they have met many times before and not given each other the time of day but something is different now.

Cut to 8 months later and Lacey is back in town and heavily pregnant. Cameron had made it clear that he didn't want a family, so does she tell him he is going to be a father?

Looking forward to the rest of this series.

Even though I had some trouble with this outback book ,I always do with the words that are different there, I gave it five stars cause the story is all out good. I loved there was a lot of midwifery stuff I was not expecting. Cameron and Lacey’s characters were not perfect, yet perfectly loveable and believable.
Great start to a new series.

Awesome book by a amazing author. This is the story of Lacey and Cameron. A night of fun after a friends wedding ends in a eight month surprise for Cameron. Can they put aside their preconceived perceptions and make forever work?
