This book (originally published in four separate chunks) is a lovely, relaxing read. I really like Charlie, and her determination to make something of the bus and her life. She works hard and puts in the effort to get positive results.

The descriptions of the setting are perfect - enough to make you really feel like you’re there, but not so long that they take away from the storyline.

The ending is rather more emotional than I prefer, I’d have been so angry with Daniel, but overall this book is just my cup of tea. I’d highly recommend this book to anyone - escape to Cornwall on the Cornish Cream Tea Bus!

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was so excited when I found out what Cressida’s next book was about. I love the idea of having a cafe on an old Routemaster bus and I have actually been on the afternoon tea tour bus that runs in London.

One of the things I find so charming about Cressida’s books are the pets that feature heavily in them. This time it’s an adorable Yorkipoo puppy called Marmite that takes a starring role.

I really like that way that Charlie follows her dream to convert Gertie, the bus, into a cafe and wins the village of Porthgolow around to show them how change can sometimes be amazing. At first, not everyone was keen to have the bus disrupting their quiet village, but as she makes small changes to get them onside, they start to realise how it can be a great thing for Porthgolow’s community.

Of course, there’s always a gorgeous man to add some romance to the story too. And things never run smoothly in that department. From overheard conversations and misinterpreting things, to just not communicating, poor Charlie doesn’t get her man until the last part of the book.

Another brilliant book from Cressida. She’s one of my must-buy-in-paperback authors, so I can admire the gorgeous covers on my shelves.

A really good summer read with a real feel good element in it. Easy to read and once you start you won’t want to put it down.
Lovers of Fern Britain’s books will love it.
As the title suggests it is set on the coast of Cornwall in a small seaside village.
Before you know it you are familiar with residents and how they feel when an outsider arrives with a big red bus that serves cream teas and wakens them up and brings them into twenty first century.

Charlie inherits her late Uncles Rountemaster bus and breaks up with her boyfriend within a few months. After a few mishaps, the new venture, mixing Charlie’s love of baking, the bus and Cornwall, is born.
This warm holiday read is a great advert for cream teas and Cornwall. The description of the delicious food served on the bus, overlooking the sea or travelling the Cornish lanes is mouth-watering.
The characters are quirky and friendly and the storyline has wonderful descriptions. I promised myself a cream scone after reading this story… thank you Cressida!

The Cornish Cream Tea Bus is a great story with some fabulous characters. It follows the story of Charlie. Her beloved uncle has recently died and left her Gertie, his beautiful vintage Routemaster bus in his will. Charlie decides the bus will be the perfect mobile cafe serving afternoon tea and by chance her friend invites her to stay with them in a small village in Cornwall. It’s a new start for Charlie and a chance for her to become part of the village. A lovely story that will entertain from start to finish.

Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK and the author for the chance to review.

A lovely story set in beautiful scenery. A lovely way to spend a few hours. Curl up and enjoy.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

So I liked the idea of this, but struggled - the book felt slightly disjointed because of the four separate novellas having to have a beginning and an end, but at the same time, there was very little happened in each novella.
Feel a bit like a decision needs to be made to write a novel or a short story and not try to achieve both at once.

. The Cornish Cream Tea Bus is perfect to lose yourself in for a few hours whether you read each part separately as I have done or else are able to wait for the full length addition. I would love a little update in the future on the residents of Porthgolow or even for some characters that were in the background to step forward. A little Christmas short story perhaps but in the meantime do enjoy your visit to Porthgolow as you follow Charlie and her life full of ups and downs, romance, laughter and plenty of yummy food and treats.

Such a heartwarming read I loved every second of it. Perfect for the summer, it’s like a hug in a book, I couldn’t put it down. Cressy has created a world that I want to climb into and she’s certainly made me desperate for a Cornish cream tea!

I love Cressida's books and I was delighted to receive an early copy from Netgalley and the Publisher.
This book revolves around Charlie, as she attempts to set up her inherited vintage bus as a travelling tea room.
She visits her friend Juliette in the Cornish village of Porthogolow, and decides to stay there to start up her business.
She finds that not everyone in the village is welcoming at first. She also finds that she is distracted by Daniel, the local hotelier, and Oliver, a fellow travelling food owner. She has to work out what she actually wants to do with her life.
This book was originally published as a four part series, but it flows well from one part to the other.
There is plenty to keep the reader interested. Romance, intrigue, drama, lovely location. It is well written and I absolutely adored it.

An absolutely lovely book that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside - I couldn't put it down! Set in an idyllic sounding location on the beautiful, rugged north Cornwall coast, the story transports you to the wonderful village of Porthgolow and in particular, Charlie's Cornish Cream Tea Bus! Oh, how I long to mount those stairs to the upper deck and tuck into a selection of the wonderful baking on offer, whilst watching those dolphins! The author's writing style is so easy to read, the book just flows effortlessly and her characters simply come to life in front of you. I so want to take Marmite for a walk along that beach at sunset! I'm sure that like me, you will be rooting for Charlie and eagerly longing for things to turn out as you hope they will for her - and particularly, that she ends up with the right man!
A perfect summer holiday read - unfortunately, I didn't read it whilst relaxing on some far flung island paradise so now I really must go and tackle the housework that hasn't been getting done because I couldn't stop reading this delight........! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did - I'm sure you will!

I always look forward to a new Cressida McLaughlin book and this one is just as good as all previous reads.

The story follows Charlie who inherits her uncle Hal’s vintage Routemaster bus. She decides to turn the bus into a mobile tea room, and relocates to the small and sleepy seaside town of Porthgolow to set up her enterprising business. As the tea bus becomes popular with residents and tourists, will it help give Porthgolow a new lease of life?

A great book set in an idyllic location with entertaining characters. A fun filled lighthearted story which was enjoyable and entertaining.

When Charlie Quilter’s late uncle bequeaths her his vintage bus, she is determined to give it a new lease of life. What better way than to combine the bus with her exceptional baking skills and start the first mobile afternoon tea café.

When her best friend, Juliette, suggests a break from the norm with a visit the idyllic village Porthgolow, where she lives. Charlie decides a change is as good as the rest, packing up Gertie, the bus, and with Yorkiepoo Marmite along for the ride they head off to Cornwall.

Daniel Harper, owner of the posh spa on the hillside in Porthgolow seems unimpressed at the idea of a double decker bus sat ruining his 5-star views.

At first it seems as though Daniel will stop at nothing to undermine and disparage Charlies ideas…but is all as it seems?

Having lived in Cornwall all my life, only a stone’s throw from where this book is set, I couldn’t resist requesting it from the publisher via NetGalley. I hadn’t read anything by this author before but was sure I could expect an easy rom-com to pass a lazy sunny afternoon.

I can see from GoodReads that this book was originally released in 4-parts, and I have to say I am glad it had passed me by until now. I don’t think I could have read it and had to wait!

It was such a lovely read and the villagers were weird and wonderful. I often find when reading books set in Cornwall that the characters are given the personalities and traits of bumpkins, those that have never left the Shire and live life completely clueless of what lays beyond the village. Which is completely untrue…most of us have crossed the water and seen the bright lights of Plymouth!

It was, of course, totally obvious what was going to happen from the off, but this didn’t lessen the enjoyment. In fact, it was part of it. We all read this genre to know exactly where we are and that its all going to end happily ever after.

The writing was great, the characters were funny and believable. I did sometimes find Charlie to be a little irritating as she continually jumped to conclusions, but it didn’t affect my overall reading experience.

I will definitely keep an eye out for more from McLaughlin as I found her storytelling style to be refreshing .

Spend the summer in an idyllic Cornish cove feasting on delectable cakes.

Charlie is a baker, when her beloved Uncle Hal leaves her Gertie, his vintage 1960s Routemaster bus in his will he gets a madcap idea to convert the bus into a mobile tea room and tour local shows and fetes advertising the bakery where she works in Ross-on-Wye. But after her first outing was less than spectacular Charlie's boss and friends persuade her to take a few weeks holiday with her best friend Juliette in the seaside village of Porthgolow.

Undeterred by her initial lack of success Charlie is determined to spend her holidays getting Gertie refurbished and starting up a business selling cream teas on the beach, however the owner of the luxury hotel and spa on the hill is less than pleased to see a tatty old bus in the local municipal car park.

Porthgolow might have a fabulous beach and amazing sunsets but the village itself is a little drab and unloved, there aren't many tourists and local businesses are flagging but Charlie loves it anyway and wants to help revive the village's fortunes.

There's cute kids, cute dogs, gorgeous food and a smidge of romance, perfect summer reading.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Cressida is amazing she always manages to make me fall in love with the characters, the villages and stories. If you haven’t picked up a book by her I thoroughly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed and you’ll leave a lift happier. I read all these in separate parts as well as this as a re-read as I loved it so much. Pure heaven in e-book.

I was very fortunate to read the first 2 parts to this 4-part series via NetGalley but jumped at the chance to review the full book as I was so enjoying it. It's safe to say Cressida McLaughlin is onto another winner!

The story was full of laughs and a whole heap of determined attitude from the main character Charlie. She is bequeathed a vintage bus following the death of her uncle and partly to keep his memory alive and partly out of sheer determination she decides to turn it into a bus cafe, this initially has calamitous results that had me genuinely chuckling but I don't want to spoil it any further than that!

I predicted how the story was going to go and I could definitely sense romance in the air from the get-go but that didn't take anything away at all from such a luscious story with such an incredible setting and an array of amazing characters, all of whom (hmm maybe not Oliver...) I loved reading about.

All in all I thought it was fabulous, various aspects the storyline kept my attention. There was a tantalising teaser of another of Cressida's novels, The House of Birds and Butterflies, at the end of this book which has ensured it has gone straight onto my wishlist!

My many thanks to Harper Collins UK (HarperFiction) for providing me with this advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.
