This novel is a love story between Petra IV and Irina. I thought that the story was very well-written though at times the details did distract the reader from the story. Still, this is an Poe e of history that I did not know much about.

This is a first book in the series.
Well written. It takes place in Ottoman Empire. Strong feminine character. The story flows nicely into place. It makes you pay attention to details and events. Good and solid writing. I am looking forward to the second book by this author.

I love historical fiction, and I'm very interested in the Ottoman Empire, so this book is right in my lane. Irina is an awesome heroine, and I really enjoyed watching her grow and learn.
