This was only a 30 page extract so it was hard to make a final judgement
It seemed exciting and made me curious to what would happen next
I will have to withhold judgement until I read the whole book

From the little bit I got it seems like a good read. Can’t really give fair score as it’s only part of the book

Having read the sample of Never Have I Ever by Joshilyn Jackson, I can't wait to read the full book. This book seems like an intense thriller, that will keep my attention.

I read this Extract (sample preview) of the newest Joshilyn Jackson to find that it is darker and more suspenseful than her usual novels. An interesting new twist for her diehard fans.

Never Have I Ever by Joshilyn Jackson was only an extract - first chapter to read and what I read I like it.
So I had to go and purchase the book.

I found the first chapter very interesting and wanted to read more of this book. So far I have loved it.
Great start to a new book and author to me. I will be reading more of Joshilyn's books.

Big Thank you to Bloomsbury Publishing, Raven Books and NetGalley for my advanced First chapter copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own.

This “book” had me hook line and sinker. I was all settled in and enjoying it immensely when much to my chagrin it ended! I had no idea it was only an excerpt. Looking forward to reading the whole book, since the small taste has left me wanting more, way more!

It was supposed to be a normal Book Club Night. Catch up with friends, discuss the book that everyone was supposed to have read and have a few drinks then go home. But Roux, a stranger who had just moved into the neighborhood and was renting a home had other plans. She had not read the book and was only interested in stirring up some trouble. She kept pouring drinks and wanted to keep the event going. I wish I had known this was just an excerpt when I started it because it just kept me wanting more..

How far would you go to keep a secret?

Joshilyn Jackson has a great way of developing her characters and describing the situations in such a way that you feel like a fly on the wall.
I cannot wait to continue reading this book to see how it ends.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read and review this title. All opinions are my own.

This is just a blurb of the book to set your appetite, and I'm hooked! Very sad and lip pouty when I reached the end!
. I was engaged from the beginning till the end. The characters are interesting. And the plot drew me in. I have added to my want to read list and am giving it a 4 star rating because it's only a part of the book.

Never Have I Ever starts off with my kind of evening, a book club meeting, wine and friends. What could go wrong? Soon things take a turn when a new neighbour changes the pace to a game of Never Have I Ever. Along with a little too much drink, things take a very intriguing turn and secrets start to come out or threaten to come out. I was hooked and couldn’t wait to find out more. The pace slows down a bit as the characters are developed and I began to get a little impatience and wanted things to move along a bit faster.

A game of cat and mouse takes off between our main characters and the pace picked up along with the tension between the characters. I was intrigued and loved the dynamics between the characters. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to get to that explosive ending. Things turned a little darker than I expected from Jackson. Normally I think my feathers might have got a bit rumpled by how things wrapped up if it wasn’t Jackson who wrote this one. In the end, I decided Jackson can do no wrong and still remains on the top of my list of favourite authors.

Wow the opening chapter on this really has you hooked, who is Roux this attractive woman who has just moved into the rented shabby house down the street. She turns up at Charlotte’s or ‘Char’ for short book club meeting which is now held at Amy’s house in the basement as the group got too large. Roux literally takes over the whole meeting. Pregnant Char is fuming as Roux sits in her seat which sounds more like a throne. Roux starts talking and all the women seem riveted to what she has to say. When asking their names Char points out that there are far to many people there that evening that she would never remember all of their names. This backfires on Char when Roux decides they should all have animal spirit names. Going from one person to the other she asks or gives them names but what is her plan!

You get the impression this group normally has I glass of wine and nibbles as they discuss the latest book. But with Roux it doesn’t get that far before Char and Amy know it Roux is up and getting the bottles of wine filling everyone’s glasses gradually getting these ladies tipsy. Char is getting more and more anxious by the minute. One of the breastfeeding mum’s gets up to leave and several others follow mainly the ones with youngest children or have work the following morning. No one has discussed the book.

Amy persuades Char to leave saying she will sort things out not wanting to tell her best friend that she is intrigued by this woman. But when she goes back downstairs after seeing Char out. The remaining women have started a game obviously Roux’s idea never have I ever based on the children’s game truth or dare. But it’s clear then to Amy that it’s her that Roux really wants to play. Amy becomes scared of something! But what does she have to hide? What does Roux know about her? What is her game?

This is going to be a rollercoaster ride of revealing secrets that Amy doesn’t want to come out. Could this ruin her marriage? Her life that she now has. What does Amy have to hide?

I have only read an Excerpt from this book but it’s enough to get you to want to know more. What a great opening to a book.

I didn’t realize this was an excerpt until after I requested it. Having said that, this was a great teaser. It definitely hooked me and I can wait to read the entire book!

What a juicy little preview! I cannot wait to read the entire book now! Jackson's writing style is addictive and I easily got sucked in. She gets right to the drama and really made me want to get my hands on the entire book.

I have to admit that I only found out that this was an extract only after I clicked request.
However, after reading it in short five minutes, I wanted to read more of it. But of course, a mere chapter was not enough to establish anything other than introduction and ominous feel of the book. Then again, this kinda genre is my kryptonite.
That being said, for one chapter preview, there were a lot (and I mean A LOT) of names to follow. I would rather have it around 5-6 max and maybe following 2-3 povs tops. I had a faint grasp as to who was the main(s), but I could be wrong.

In short, it could be good/ok (again, hard to tell with only 1ch preview) and it left more to be desired.

This is actually a small 15 minute read, extracted from Never Have I Ever. The actual book is now on my list, I thoroughly enjoyed this small taste of the story; a story of a neighborhood book club that becomes something else entirely when the new and intriguing neighbor unexpectedly shows up. Thanks for the taste #NetGalley

I liked the storyline for this book, it had a hard time following it. The pace was was a little off. The ending was very abrupt and it made me wonder if I didn't receive all of the pages. The promotional description didn't match what I read.

I’d be interested to read the whole book. Would love to read on to find out what Roux knows about Amy’s past.

This was my favorite type of psychological thriller! Set in a sleepy college town subdivision, the whole basis of Never Have I Ever was marinated past regrets. For me, the book’s appeal was entirely wrapped around the main character Amy. I loved her! She was smart, honest, and witty. Best of all, she appreciated her family and would do anything to keep it.

This sounds like a page turner with loads of drama! I wish I had requested the full book when I had the chance because i can NOT wait for this one to be released next month! :)
