Due to a passing in the family a few years ago and my subsequent health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for years after the bereavement. Thank you for the opportunity.

I missed the first two books but that wasn't an impediment to enjoying this book about a mermaid. Not what I expected, actually, but it's a good read nonetheless,

I had been so looking forward to reading this book. But it just wasn’t for me. I found it uninteresting and dull and couldn’t wait for it to end sadly

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. An engrossing read. I would truly recommend this book. I did enjoy the relationship between the two main characters and the way the book was written and set out

This is the third book in a series entitled ‘The Sisters’ Secrets.’ The first one is called ‘The Sisters’ Secrets: Rose’, which I haven’t read, though I have read the second book which focused mainly on Reen. I don’t think it matters that much if they are read out of sequence.

The novel was about a mermaid needing to go to dry land to make a sacrifice for a ceremony and realising that those on land are no different to herself. "The Sisters’ Secrets: Pearl" had all the required ingredients that make a really fantastic story in its genre: from the mood and undercurrents to the good writing and the experience of love.

I recommend this very engaging, if a little short, read to those with a fondness for books about mermaids.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel, at my own request, from HQ Digital via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

This is the final part in a trilogy and as such the previous two books should be read first in order to fully understand the story.

In the previous two books, there are various hints as to part of Pearls story. This book takes us back to see Pearl as a young mermaid attempting to find her place in her family. She has a task to do and as she sets out Pearl has every intention of achieving it. But she soon finds herself torn between what she should do to claim her heritage, and what her heart is telling her to do.

This is a perfect ending to the series. Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy.

Pearl by Katlyn Duncan is the 3rd book in the Sisters' Secrets series, and my first book in the series. I really enjoyed this cute book, which is a fast read. This book is about the mermaid sister Pearl. I look forward to reading the other books in this series. I recommend this book for a fun escape.

I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you.

The last in the sister series Pearl is a mermaid and has been tasked to find a human sacrifice to bring back with her in order to marry her betrothed, if she fails she will be banished and her betrothed killed. She is given her legs and sent to find her sacrifice, but once on dry land she starts to get to know the people and realises they are not as bad as she thought they would be.... will she be able to complete her task or fall for a human?

A good little novella to go with the other two books in the series

I want to thank Netgalley for providing me with this book in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book.
I finished it in a matter of hours and if I’m being honest it’s not the best mermaid story I’ve ever read.
I felt it also lacked character growth and world building.
With all that being said it was still an enjoyable read and I finished it fairly fast.
3 stars.

The Sisters’ Secret: Pearl is the third book in The Sisters’ Secret series by Katlyn Duncan.

Pearlina has always been fascinated by human kind. Her fascination turned to horror when witnessing one of their own banished because they did not complete their Drywalker ceremony.

Many years later, Pearl has come of age for her Drywalker Ceremony.

She is transformed into a human and is required to capture a human sacrifice within a limited time period of 5 night cycles. This sacrifice will grant her acceptance back into the troop and her betrothal to the selected mate.

As each day passes her curiosity and fondness of humans makes her hesitate to select a sacrifice. Will Pearl decide on who to sacrifice and return home?

A well written new adult story. Although this is the third book in the series, it was easy to read as a standalone book. Overall I enjoyed the tale of Pearl but I wasn’t too fond of the main character’s style of POV throughout the book.

Star rating: 3.5

The Sister's Secret is a story about a mermaid. Pearlina the mermaid must go through a ritual that will ensure the safety of her tribe. She must go on land with legs given in a ceremony. She then must find a human to kill and bring back to her tribe after she murders the human. Upon her return, she will be bonded with a mate chosen for her. The ceremony also protects her tribe from the humans. If she fails, the tribe will kill her potential mate, and she will be banished forever. A very adult mermaid story. I look forward to reading more books from the series.

A great read, fast paced book that you can’t put down. What happens when a mermaid needing to go to dry land to make a sacrifice for a ceremony realises those on land are the same as her and what happens if you fall in love. Great story , fun and engaging

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

Really enjoyed this book, read it in a few hours.. It enticed me to want to read the rest of the books in this series.
Every decade a new “mermaid” must take to land for 5 days to preform their Dryland ritual. If it’s not complete then when they return back to the water their betrothed is sacrificed in place of the human sacrifice & the mermaid is banished from their troop to live apart forever.
But what happens when you find out that the land dwellers aren’t so different from you & in many ways are more that your people? You make friends & maybe even fall in love...? Pearlina must make a choice, so who will she sacrifice...?
