Kindness, perseverance, love, and beautiful illustrations all come together in this book. The rhymes make it easy to engage kids in the book, and it'll tug at your heartstrings as you read it. With a positive message, this is a great addition to any library, especially if you have young children.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I nice message but I wasn't a fan of the illustrations. A little too simple for me.

Although I received this book in exchange for a review, all opinions remain my own.

The fact that this book is based on a real story makes it even sweeter. I loved it before but I love it even more now. <3 Great one for any animal loving kiddo.

Here is a very simple story about a stray kitten finally being taken in and given a good home because she didn’t give up when times got hard. It shares the thought that we can always hold on to our dreams and not to give up on them when times get tough. The illustrations were disappointing in that they were of such a simple style that one would think a student had drawn them. I expected more from a published illustrator. They actually distracted me from the story because they were so childlike. Overall, the plot is nice, but the illustrations just don’t do the story justice. I received a free copy of this title from the publisher by contact through NetGalley.

What a cute simple, little book! “The Story of Meow” written by Elise Lowe, is a delightful and fun story.

It is a lovely rhyming tale about a stray cat who just wants a loving home and every day, the ginger cat searches and never gives up until her dream becomes a reality.

Visually, the book was extremely engaging and well illustrated. The story, very nicely, presented a positive message about kindness and perseverance.

I really appreciated this lovely, winsome tale. I would definitely recommend it and I think the book would make a lovely addition to any family library.

My rating for this great little book is five cute cats!

Princess Fuzzypants here: This is a lovely children’s book that follows the travails of Meow, a poor homeless kitty who wants nothing so much as to have a loving home. After wandering the streets and trying desperately to wangle an invitation inside, five room-mates take Meow in.
Life is very good until the girls are to return home for the holidays. No one has thought of what will happen to the cat. Sadly, this is not an unusual story for many shelter cats. Happily one of the girls phones home and her mother tells her to bring Meow home with her.
When they arrive at the farm, Meow’s name is changed to Macy and all her dreams come true. She is loved and safe and lives a long and happy life.
Both story and pictures are darling so I can recommend this book with five purrs and two paws up.

This book is simple, but effective in getting its message across. The sad, unwanted kitten just wants to be loved and accepted. After trying several times to find her place, she is adopted by some little girls. Her perseverance pays off. I am usually not a fan of rhyming books, since prose can allow you to be more precise with your words, but I liked this book. It reminded me of a Bill Peet book. The pictures were a bit too understated for my taste, but I think that was intentional by the author, given the subject of the book. Overall, I liked it, as did my 3 children. I would recommend it for preschoolers to maybe age 10.

This is a beautifully illustrated children's book about a stray cat who was given a home by students. The text has a really engaging rhythm which makes it engaging and exciting for children to read. A truly fabulous book.

Could not review The Story of Meow as it did not download onto my Kindle. This is unfortunate and would love to read it in the future

The Story of Meow is a sweet kids book. Nothing new or surprising, but a nice enough book. The illustrations are childish, it would probably add more to the story if there were professionally done pictures to go with the story.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

This brought a tear to my eye. I've have take in 5 strays over the years and currently have 2 still with me (the others have, sadly, crossed over the rainbow bridge). It's a lovely story, with a happy ending, like every stray should have!. I didn't care much for the illustrations. Sorry, they looked amateurish. They need more polish I think. Still, I can get past them, the story was wonderful and would make a good tale for any age really. I love cats and always take the time to read a new cat story! Even picture books! I think the kids will love this tale.

The download for this title has not worked and I can't see any but the first two pages. I assume there is a technical issue but am unable to resolve this personally.

The review copy received did not display correctly in my Kindle app. Only the cover displayed. Pages would not move forward by swiping. I used the slider bar and the contents drop-down option to try to view pages, but they were blank. Unless the publisher corrects formatting for Kindle users, this book would be a waste of readers' funds.

I loves the story and the fact that it rhymed. My littles lost interest about halfway through, but we picked it back up later. I would think this book would be better suited for 4-5 year olds. The illustrations look like they were done by a child, so maybe a better illustrator for a next book.

The Story of Meow was a cute rhyming story about a stray cat who just wanted a loving home. Each day the ginger cat searched for such a place and never gave up until her dream became a reality.
I think most people have come across stray cats meowing by their homes, businesses, schools…looking for food and a safe environment. Therefore, children can relate to this short story and understand the messages of perseverance, kindness, and love within this book.
Stories that convey positive messages are always a plus to have on hand in a home or school library. Highly recommended!
