I thought I will enjoy more this book. But I couldn’t get the magic as in PS I love you. Don’t get me wrong is not bad. But is not the best. I didn’t finish it. I read around 25%.

I read PS I Love you almost 15 years ago and it had such an impact on me I still remember every part of it. When i found out there would finally be a sequel all these years later I couldn’t wait to read it and I got a copy as it was released. I’m afraid I chickened out of reading it and finally started it this week. There wasn’t as many tears as when I read the first book but it’s still very very emotional.

Gerrys impact on Hollys life from those letters he left for her have changed her life I like to think for the better and in this sequel we see more change and a lot more positivity. Thanks to Gerry Holly helps people who really need her help and that would never have happened without Gerrys letters.

Postscript is definitely a weepy of epic proportions mad I’m glad I got to see more from Holly even after all these years. Five stars.

I really enjoyed PS I love you so it was a must I also read this book, it was beautifully written and very emotional just as I expected it to be. Love, loss and everything in between this book had it all. Highly recommend.

This is a great book. PS I Love you was one of the most beautiful books every written so this had a lot to live up too.

Its been 8 years since Gerry died and Holly is in a new relationship with a man called Gabriel. Her sister Ciara has a podcast and gets Holly on to talk about Gerry and his letters and it starts a bit of a fan following. A lady called starts calling Holly and asking her to set up a PS I Love you club and asks Holly to come and give a chat. Holly ignores her though as she thinks its all a bit weird, not realising the purpose behind it and then she discovers that Angela had died and Holly then becomes involved with the club to help other terminally ill people write their own Ps I Love you Letters.

Its beautiful. Inspiring, and touching. Made me cry in places, especially Ginika. The reason i have given it 4 and not 5 was because i didnt like Gabriel, at all. I think Holly deserved better than him. He wasnt supportive and tried to tell her what to do and had huge sulks about this that irritated me quite a lot, i have no idea why she is with him. My question is why didnt Holly end up with William? It was all set up that way but there was zero mention of William in the book at all. I know he was created for the film, but i loved him as a charcter and was hoping he would be in the sequel as Hollys happy ever after. Shame.

Apaprt from that, its a really good read.

"It's been seven years since Holly Kennedy's husband died – six since she read his final letter, urging Holly to find the courage to forge a new life.

She’s proud of all the ways in which she has grown and evolved. But when a group inspired by Gerry's letters, calling themselves the PS, I Love You Club, approaches Holly asking for help, she finds herself drawn back into a world that she worked so hard to leave behind."

I LOVED this follow up to P.S. I Love You (and it encouraged me to re-read the original book and watch the film again).

The way she tip-toes in and then throws herself into the P.S. I Love You Club, which was set up by Angela Carberry who had formed a group of dying people who wanted to recreate Gerry's idea of leaving letters, notes, trips and memories for those left behind, was wonderful and would have made Gerry so proud. There are high and lows along the way for Holly and I cried and laughed with her and her family and friends and had a lovely warm feeling by the end of the book.

A very worth follow up, so congratulations to Cecelia Ahern, who has achieved the almost impossible.

A simply beautiful story. I was a bit hesitant to read a sequel to one of my favourite books/films as I feared that it could never live up to the original but Postscript compliments PS I love you just perfectly. Highly recommended.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

PS I Love You was a formative novel of the 2000s - for a few years everyone had either read the book or seen the film and, along with The Notebook, it earned its place as a seminal weepy in both mediums. It's brave of Ahern to return to this world after so long, and while the sequel sits alongside the original fairly well, I would say it suffers from the eternal problem of not being quite as good as the original. Postscript returns to Holly's life 7 years after her husband's death when she has begun to move forward, with a new boyfriend. However, she lacks a sense of purpose and, through a chance encounter, is sucked back into the world of Gerry's letters, possibly at the expense of her own progress. I liked some of the new characters (particularly Ginika) but overall I felt that there wasn't really a need to retread this ground. Perhaps this is because I haven't been bereaved in this way and maybe this book will connect better with people who have lost loved ones at an early age. However, I did feel that Ahern did a good job of exploring the ongoing nature of grief and how moving on isn't always linear, and maybe that is the purpose of this book.

Whilst I enjoyed this book I found it quite slow to get going. I didn’t gel with Holly to start with and found Gabriel very irritating!! I found myself hoping they split up because I couldn’t fathom any chemistry.

Half way through the book it picked up and after that I couldn’t put it down. The characters all seemed to for together more and it was a more enjoyable read.

I was a bit fearful when I started the follow-up to PS I Love you, mostly because it was such an iconic story which resonated with people around the world and I did not want Postcript to take that away.

However, I need not have worried. From the first page I was drawn back into the world of Holly Kennedy. It was lovely finding out what had happened to not only Holly but also all her family and friends. It was refreshing to see the letters from Gerry’s in the last seven years. I, her family and her friends and I loved how we found out more about her and Gerry when they were young and before his illness.

It is seven years since Gerry died and Holly has struggled for so long to come to terms with how her life has changed but she feels she is winning. She is in a new relationship and feels the time is right to move on. However her peace of mind is threatened after she does a podcast about Gerry’s letters and a women approaches her about joining the PS I Love You Club to help people facing death write their own letters to loved ones. It also makes Holly rethink the letters from Gerry’s viewpoint.

All credit to Cecelia Ahern, what could have been a tale of woe actually features so many uplifting moments that it overshadows the sad subject of death. Her characters became warriors and survivors. Ginika, especially stole my heart. Even though I cried buckets all the way through, I felt the magic of the words that were left behind.

Without a doubt this book will be made into a film and it deserves that honour.

I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine

Oh how I loved PS I Love you and was so thrilled to be able to read this sequel
I approached this with a little trepidation but there was no need to worry

I absolutely loved this

I must admit I re read the first book then read this but you don't really need to do this as it works just as well as a standalone - the backstory is dealt with beautifully

I cried - which is a testament to how wonderful I found this sequel

Bravo !!!

Postscript follows the journey of Holly Kennedy, set seven years after “PS I love you” and shows us how she has managed to rebuild her life after tragically losing her husband to cancer all those years prior.

It is helpful to have read the first book, but not essential as all the backstory is beautifully explained without repetition.

Holly is trying to move forwards with her life but is suddenly pulled back into the orbit of her husband’s letters from beyond the grave when she receives a card entitled “The PS, I Love You Club”.

I was unsure that this book would live up to the high expectations I had after reading the first book but it was truly something special and very powerful. A very emotional read but worth the tears!

I had no idea there was a sequel to PS, I love you and so was very excited when this appeared in my shelf #netgalley
This book has been everything you could wish for from a sequel and more. I loved having Holly, Denise and Sharon back all supporting each other 8 years on after Gerry’s death! I had no idea what to expect from this book and how Cecelia Ahern could continue with a sequel but she did and it was brilliant!

Thank you so much to the publishers for granting my wish for this book. However, at the time of wishing for this book last year, I was reading PS I Love You, which I have since DNF'd. So I won't be reading this one unfortunately.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins for a copy of this book.

This is a sequel to P.S. I Love You. It is set 6 years on from the end of that book when Holly read her husband, Gerry's, last letter, 7 years on from when he died of cancer. Holly agrees to go on her sister's podcast, discussing Gerry's letters and how it helped her to deal with her grief. This sparks a public interest and a club forms that wants Holly to get involved, and she has to decide how much she wants to open herself back up to the grief that she worked so hard to overcome.

When I first read P.S I Love You as a teenager it led to me reading every Cecelia Ahern book I could find. The story broke my heart but I loved the characters and the writing style.

I must now be twice the age I was when I read the first book (wow that makes me feel old), and I was worried this book may not have the same pull as an adult. But I was wrong! I quickly jumped  back into Holly's world and, although I didn't love this quite as much as P.S. I Love You, I still enjoyed it.

It was great to catch up with the characters from the first book and see how life has treated them over the six years. Holly's relationship with her family and her best friends, Denise & Sharon, is still as strong in this book than the first. She is also in a new relationship with a man called Gabriel.

There are still flashbacks to Holly & Gerry's relationship in this book, which I love. Whereas in the first book this helped the reader feel the magnitude of what Holly has lost, in this book it reflects how much Holly has moved on since that time.

This book continues the theme of love and loss in a poignant way that is both heartbreaking and uplifting. If you liked P.S. I Love You, you'll enjoy this one too.

ThankYou Harpercollins for the approval in return for an honest review and to netgalley.

I was interested to read this book and see where Holly ends up following the first book, PS, I love you. Postscript is set 7 years after Holly loses Gerry to brain cancer. She has a new life with a new boyfriend, Gabriel, in her life. When her sister, Ciara, invites Holly on her podcast to tell her story of Gerry and the letters he sent her after she passed, Holly is drawn back to her past and helps terminally ill members of the PS I Love You club to create ideas / memories for their loved ones to treasure once they are gone.

I have to admit that I found Holly a bit annoying - self absorbed, and feeling sorry for herself a lot because despite the time that has passed, she is still holding onto Gerry and the past still saddens her. She does however channel that grief into helping the PS I Love You club and it's a heartwarming and fun (despite the sadness surrounding it all) journey filled with love, heartache and self-discovery. Cecilia Ahern deals with the subject of terminal illness and palliative care very respectfully and sensitively.

For lovers of the first book, readers will be divided about this extended tale or whether it should have been left where it was.
