Fans of P.S I love you are going to fall in love all over again with the romance as it picks up seven years later.

As much as I devoured this book, eager to find out what happens and how Holly's life has changed; I also kept stalling as I didn't want it to end.

I don't want to give away too much about her current life but after commiting to talking about Gerry on a podcast, new opportunities are thrown Holly's way.

Beautifully written, makes you think about who and what we leave behind and how others continue their lives after. I love how we got to hear more about Gerry and their life together.

I will leave you with - roots and wings! Sometimes a person passing and the things and memories they leave behind can have roots and also wings.

A perfect ending to the P.S. I love you series. When a book has you both sobbing and feeling totally uplifted you know the author is doing it right!

Great story. A follow up to the brilliant 1st book that doesn't dissapoint. I thought that this follow up would seem a bit contrived, it absolutelywasn't!!!

This is one for those who enjoy an emotional, tear-jerker of a book.

We meet Holly in a new phase of her life; she is almost ready to sell the home she shared with her husband. There's a new man, Gabriel, and she works with her sister Ciara every day. Then she is approached by a club who appear to be based on the letters that Gerry left her when he died - and they want Holly to help them. Will it help her or is it a backward step?

When I chose to read this novel , I thought I had read the previous one but I hadn't; so I came to this sequel with a fresh pair of eyes. I don't generally select novels about early emotional deaths - I've been too close to a number of them in real life. However, I expected this one to be all about moving on and it was, to a certain extent, but there were overwhelmingly sad elements.

Holly's husband died far too early in life; brain cancer took him from her but Gerry left her notes to get her through the first year, each one signed 'PS, I Love You'. She survived, and has moved on with her life - let's be honest here: she has no real alternative. However bad it seems at the time, we all get through grief although in varying degrees. This second novel moves on to include the stories of people who are terminally ill and I struggled with that. I'm sure, that for others, this will be right up their street. There is no doubt it's a well-written, skilfully crafted story but, for me, it was just too emotional. Acknowledging the author's talent, I'm happy to settle on four stars.

My thanks to the publisher for my copy; this is - as always - my honest, original and unbiased review.

Wow. Just wow. Writing this through my tears after ugly crying my way through the last 50 pages or so. Do not start this book unless you are prepared for an emotional rollercoaster.
The story picks up some years after Gerry’s death in PS I Love You when Holly appears to have her life back on track. She is asked by her sister to tell her story on a podcast which then means many people get to hear her story, with far reaching consequences for Holly’s new life.
I was unsure how this would follow on as a sequel but Cecelia Aherne has absolutely embraced the challenge and created a story that not only looks back at “Holly and Gerry” as well as his letters and continuing Holly’s story. I adored this book - even if I did bawl like a baby!

PS:I love you is definitely one of the most favourite books/movies of all time for many people, me including.
I loved this book so much for so many reasons. The author has once again shown what means for us to carry on with our life because the grief and despair feelings will be there always in our hearts, our love for the lost ones will never change no matter what happens.
I loved that she’s trying to get a new life and live the new adventures that life is throwing her way with ups and downs, with new friends and memories.

I enjoyed this book, but not as much as PSILY.

I feel like in this book.was a great follow on from PSILY. We don't miss out on too much really, and we still get to check in on many favourites from the first book. I loved Ciara in book one, and I'm glad to say my love affair continues in this book.

I like that in this book we get a much more realistic look at Holly and Gerry's relationship. Of course, in the immediate aftermath of her husband's death Holly is only going to remember the positive points of their time together. This book shines a light on their arguments, no matter how petty, which I appreciated.

I wasn't a fan of the romance in this book, and I didn't particularly root for them to still be together by the end of the book.

Loved it. Sometimes you can disappointed with a follow-up but this did not disappoint. Just as an emotional read as PS I Love you.
Love this author's writing

I had the most unexpected and delightful surprise the other day, when the publisher granted me a gift copy of this book, via Netgalley.
I’ve just finished reading it and I am still mesmerised. As I said, it’s never easy to write a sequel to a huge hit, but the author did it brilliantly and she produced a moving, heartbreaking, heart- warming story. An emotional rollercoaster that had me sobbing (and cheering, too) all throughout it. Exactly like P.S. I Love You, I know I will be reading this book again and again. I truly hope a film is made, too.
With many thanks to HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction and Netgalley for a gift e-copy.

An emotional, uplifting sequel to PS, I Love You

It's now a few years since the devastating death of Holly's adored husband, Gerry. Holly has found a new love, Gabriel. At the start of the book, they are about to move in together. Holly gives a talk on the subject of death and grief on her sister Ciara's podcast. The rest of this sassy, touching story charts the effect this has on Holly's life and self-esteem. Good to have a prologue recapping PS, I Love You.

A very good follow up to a story which was much loved due to its intense romance, passion and tragic endings. I found this follow up to Holly's story very bittersweet.

I received a copy of Postscript through Netgalley but I found that I could not wait and went ahead and bought a copy.

I had read PS I Love You when it had first come out and I did approach this title with some trepidation.

I need not have worried. I was quickly pulled back into the world of the characters from the first novel and was moved by the book, perhaps even more powerfully than the first.

Holly has moved on at the start of the novel but a twist early on leads to her re-examining those beloved letters she had received in the year after Gerry’s death.

To say much more would be to spoil the plot of this novel but I would highly recommend this novel - even if you have not read the first one. Although - bet you will search out the first one if you read this!

After reading P.S I Love You last week I knew I wanted to read the sequel asap. I was intrigued to see how Holly’s life had changed in seven years, what was it like now? How much was Gerry still influencing her life?

The plot from start to finish was brilliant. I loved the concept of the P.S. I Love You Club and thought it was a great spin on the original book. With a fresh concept came a fresh group of characters, all with their own quirks and problems. My favourite addition was Ginika. She was candid, fierce and kind despite what she was facing and whilst I predicted the outcome for her daughter Jewel the tears still came when her final chapters were read. My favourite aspect of this club was that they each had their own take on what they wanted to do. It wasn’t about copying Gerry’s letters it was about finding their own version that fitted their life.

As well as some new faces we see some familiar ones return. The Kennedy tribe are back and as entertaining as ever but this time Ciara takes centre stage in the family and is a great help to Holly at certain times. My funny duo are back but Denise is taking more of the spotlight with Sharon contributing every now and again. Last and by no means least we see the return of Gerry (don’t worry he’s not back from the dead). The stories of Holly and Gerry early on were a sweet touch and the last chapters were particularly beautiful.

I found that this book had less laugh out loud moments and was definitely more of an emotional read. There were several points when I could feel myself welling up so I would not recommend reading this in public, unless your happy for people to see you cry! Sometimes a book leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling and this book did just that. I was overwhelmed with emotion by the end but despite the book being about grief and death I was left feeling hopeful and happy.

As a big fan of both P.S I Love You, and Cecelia Ahern's other work, I was really excited to read Postscript.

Getting the chance to delve back into Holly's world was wonderful, and I really enjoyed this sequel. I cried and I laughed, and I really fell back in love with Holly and her life.

A much awaited sequel to PS I Love You and it didn’t disappoint.

Such a difficult subject but handled with grace and care.

An emotional rollercoaster of a ride which I didn’t want to end.

Full of joy and tears this book is highly recommended so 5 stars.

Holly’s life with Gerry isn’t quite finished.

I am utterly broken by Postscript. I have cried until my head throbs and my eyes are red reading this book. Cecelia Ahern has entirely undone me through the intensity of her writing because she has articulated so sensitively, so thoroughly magnificently, and with such humanity, how it feels to have loved someone unequivocally and lost them to a terminal illness. Her depiction of grief, of living with the proximity of death, of friendship, family and relationships pulsates with reality and truth. At the same time, she has created a positive and life enhancing narrative in Postscript that has left me feeling optimistic and somehow soothed.

Although Postscript is a follow up to P.S. I Love You, there is absolutely no need to have read that book to be enthralled by this one. Cecelia Ahern is such a skilled writer that she weaves Holly’s backstory into the narrative in a fluid and organic manner that works beautifully. Holly’s relationship with her deceased husband Gerry, her new life and her possible future are all perfectly balanced and explained. I found Cecelia Ahern’s writing thoroughly enchanting. The plot is glorious and heartbreaking in equal measure so that it is impossible not to feel Holly’s reactions and emotions as she feels them. I love the way the author crafts her writing. She understands the realism needed in direct speech and ensures descriptive sentences are poetic at times and stark and affecting at others so that it is akin to being on a roller coaster of emotion reading Postscript.

Holly is an incredibly realistic character. I didn’t feel as if I were reading about her, but more that I was reading about me through her. I genuinely felt an almost visceral connection as she struggled to be true to the self she had become in the seven years since her husband’s death. Of the others, Ginika was the person who gained my empathy most profoundly. Her feisty nature, despite her youth and educational background, made me want to hold her, support her and simultaneously made me glad to be alive.

Perhaps readers who have not felt the grief I have felt in recent times will have less of a reaction to Postscript, but I adored every word. I devoured the book over twenty-four hours because it felt like a bereavement to be away from it. It’s going to take me a while to recover from reading Cecelia Ahern’s Postscript and if I’m honest, I’m not sure I will get over the intense emotion I felt as I read. I experienced deep grief and enormous uplifting optimism reading Postscript and cannot recommend it highly enough. What an amazing book and what a fabulous writer!

Well this book was wonderful. It made me cry at times and there was a few laugh out loud moments. It is an easy to read story but at the same time a story that will stay with you.

Postscript was the sequel we were all waiting on, we being romance readers that have read ps. I love you multiple times and cry every time we watch the film.

It was great to dive back into the story that left us heartbroken, and connect with the characters again! Seeing Holly manage her grief and experience that of a whole new group of characters.

I requested it simply because of how much I loved PS I Love You when I read it, but it seems like I have outgrown my love for that book because this definitely did not work for me.
