I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley.

This is the fourth and I believe last book in the Crimson Point Series. It is the story of how Aiden chips away at Tiana's walls and the two finally get together. It takes a little convincing but they both fall hard and fast once it happens. By the end of the book, I was happy to see the HEA since they had so much happen to them in this book, but also previous books in the series. I felt like poor Tiana and Ella just needed a break and they finally got it.

I would consider this book romantic action since there is really no suspense to it. We know who the bad guy is and a lot of the action sequences don't have anything to do with him.

Tiana has had it with men! After her third long term relationship ended when she found out he had tried to molest her daughter, Tiana is giving up on men. Pit her stupid body didn't get the memo. It heats up every time a certain fiery Scotsman gets anywhere near her. But Ella is her priority and she won't knowingly put her in harms way again.

Aidan has had tough scrape himself with love but when he finds out what Tiana and Ella have been through, his blood boils. He wants to get his own turn with the slimy paedophile. But Tiana, well she brightens his day but he has to leave soon over a visa glitch. He is not about to pursue something with her.

But Tiana has more on her plate than a potential romance - Ella's father has come back into her life and now she is panicking he'll use her disastrous past to get custody! Sadly we haven't seen the last of Brian either!

Plenty of twists and turns to keep you happy! Tiana is a bit of a Witch with a capital B to Aidan but you can totally see where she is coming from and even Aidan decides she was just being a good mum. Aidan is persistent but not stalkerish!

I enjoyed the way that although there was a HEA, they did have to wait a bit! So sad to leave the Crimson Point gang behind!

Tiana Fitzgerald has suffered through some rough times, but her saving grace is her daughter Ella and her close friends. One of those friends is Aidan MacIntyre…at least he wants to be her friend and much more if she will let him. Tiana has made some bad choices in the past including Ella’s father, Evan, who left them to pursue his music. Now Evan is interested in establishing a relationship with Ella. Ella is her whole world; how can she trust that Evan will not hurt her little girl? Tragedy strikes Crimson Point and Aidan proves that he can protect her as the world rocks around them. When a man from her past decides to seek vengeance on Tiana and Ella, can Aidan protect them? What will she and Ella do if Aidan has to return to Scotland? Ms. Cross knows how to draw you in to the story and characters as you live through the suspense, hope and love. This has been one of the best series I have read and Tiana’s (and Ella’s) story was all that I could have hoped for. I just love Ella as Ms. Cross has put so much heart in to this little girl. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

P.S. I posted the same 5* review on Amazon as well, but at times they are exceedingly slow about forwarding the link to the reviewer. I posted the review to Amazon on 4/7/19 and each day since then.

I really liked this book, but I didn't love it. Partly because I've only just realised I've come in at the end of the series. Perhaps this is why I just wasn't fully into the characters, they just didn't quite fully come alive for me. And I thought there was both a little too much going on (Evan coming back into Tiana and Elle's lives, Aidan's visa issues, Brian, Tiana's nightmare ex-boyfriend) and not enough pressure in the pace of the book given it's a thriller. I'm not sure i'll bother going back to read the others in the series.

I did like Tiana, though, as you find out her background you realised more why she's the way she is. And Aiden too, he definitely swooped in to help save Tiana and Elle from their problems. I wasn't so sure about Evan, he seemed a bit one dimensional to me.

I was given a free copy of this book by Netgalley in return for an honest review.

Unable to download. Been following this series and wanted very much to read this as I adore her books! 🥴

I loved this book. I do not normally we need contemporary romance. However, something called me to this book. I will not re-write the story. I will tell you about the characters and the emotions the book evokes. The characters are real. He feels if you could meet them on the street The approach to the lives is real. They are characters you can relate to. What they go through is real.
The villain makes you hate him. The heroin, the female star, has made as much of a mess in her life as we have made in ours. When she finally allows herself to have sex again, it is sex to drool for. And the ending is a stand up and cheer ending. Finally you are so glad it turns out the way it does

What a ride! I felt this one got off to a little bit of a slower start, but I was on the edge of my seat by the end! I didn't quite understand Tiana's attitude towards Aidan at first, but I loved once they finally got together. Ella was adorable and really helped to make this story what it is. The ending was perfection. Loved it!

*I received an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Hands down the best book in the series. Kaylea Cross's Rocky Ground is a shining example of why I read romance. This couple and sweet Ella will absolutely make your heart melt. Add into the mix some crazy moments that test both Aiden and Tiania and wow...just wow. Gosh...the ending....swoon worthy. Don't miss this one. If you have never read the series...go and get started!

What a surprise this book turned out to be. I liked it so much that I just couldn't put it down. I ended up being able to read it in one sitting. That's how fast it pulled me in. As I was reading it at first I thought, "maybe I would give it 4 stars on Amazon." It sure didn't take long for me to change my mind and decide it deserved the full 5 stars instead. Part of the reasons is because of the super good main characters and all the emotions and action in the book.
Aidan saw Tiana as beautiful, wild and mysterious. He also thought, He liked the sarcastic edge to her responses. Sarcasm was a sign of high intelligence and a healthy mind. He knew he was sarcastic as hell. Now if he could only break through to her. His friends gave him the nickname, "Mac" and it didn't take long for Tiana's daughter Ella to do the same. The affection between the two was quick and solid. Mac definitely proves that he is hero material and a tenderness develops between him and "his girls".
Ella was one charming little girl who had gone through so much. And the dangers to her weren't quite over yet. I thought the author did a great job developing Ella's character, it had depth to it.
Aunt Lizzie shows up in the book to visit with Tiana and Ella. She doesn't stay real long but you can see the good impact that she has and has had in their lives. There are also some good secondary people who surround our main characters and are there to support them with friendship and help.
Great unexpected twists happen in the book and include a very good Epilogue.
On another note, I did learn something as I read this book. It's about a celebration called, "Hogmanay" that is a Scottish tradition.

Rocky Ground is the fourth title in the Crimson Point Series by Kaylea Cross. This time we are following the story of Tiana and Mac as well as Ella, Tiana's daughter. After many failed attempts at relationships with men, Tiana's is wary about any men that comes into her life. She doesn't trust men or at least that's the message she is sending out in heavy waves. Mac befriends Tiana's daughter Ella through their other friends and at first glance, pass the look of the handsome man with the Irish brogue, she sees another man who's going to be a problem in her life. She doesn't want to let him into her life or her daughter's. She's blunt about his intentions as to why he's so involved in her daughters life. Mac is not the dangerous man Tiana needs to worry about instead it's her last ex-boyfriend who's now out to get her and her daughter.

3.5 stars

Aidan was, well, perfect hero material. He could kick butt, was just protective enough to make my heart squee in delight, had all the right moves in the bedroom, loved Tiana’s daughter, Ella like his own, wears a kilt, and is a Scot!
Yep, love the guy already, lol.

Tiana...hmmm, so I liked her better in the previous books, but I did come around. She had more knocks then one person deserved. While her mentality was completely understandable, that didn’t mean it was easy to like how she acted.

Ella was a doll! I loved how her grown up, proper attitude was tempered with little girl antics and sweetness. Her love of animals and consideration for others was also a plus. If anyone deserved a ‘forever dad’, it’s this resilient girl!

I’ve been looking forward to Tiana and Aidan’s story, but I wasn’t expecting all the twisted threads! Rocky Ground was a whirlwind of suspense that had me overwhelmed more then I expected it to, however, I enjoyed Aidan and Tiana’s whirlwind relationship, Aidan and Ella bonding, and loved the epilogue.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rocky Ground is Book 4 in the Crimson Point series and it was as amazing as I was expecting it to be! Tiana and Aidan’s story is a standalone but you do get snippets of them in the previous books.

Due to some really horrible past relationships, Tiana has closed off her heart from any romantic entanglements, at least until her daughter is fully grown or if ever. So when Aidan shows up into their lives, she was not very nice to him. Aidan, a very sexy Scottish Former Royal Marine, is working on ways to extend his time in the States, but things are not looking good for him. Tiana captivated him and he adores little Ella, but with his circumstances and the wall that Tiana has surrounded herself, he was unsure he could get through. But when Tiana’s past returns and causes havoc and even places them in danger, Aidan’s protective instinct kicks in and was determined to keep both Tiana and Ella safe.

I loved this book so much, there was a lot that happens and it kept me engaged the whole time.
A man out for revenge, a change of heart from a deadbeat dad and a natural disaster were just some of the complications, but these two are resilient and together they can get through anything.

It was also so great to catch up with all the other characters from the previous books and I have to especially give a shout out to Walter (loved the dune buggy scene!!) and all those other four-legged cuties. The epilogue was just amazing and made my heart swoon and was perfect. This was a wonderful story and I highly recommend it.

My first time reading anything by Kaylea Cross and I have to say i don't understand why it took me this long to pick up anything by her since I already own some of her books as kindle books, as soon as I started to read it I got lost in her writing and the story , and the characters I grew to love really fast , love how just reading her book I didn't have to think about anything I could just get lost in the story and that's what I did. Will be picking this series up as soon as I can , with that said I want to thank Netgalley for letting me read and review it exchange for my honest opinion.

Tiana and Aiden are a wonderful pairing with undeniable chemistry and a passion that is all consuming; but the journey to happiness can often be a painful and compelling road. So will this troubled couple go the distance? Can Aiden find the patience and persistence to combat Tiana’s insecurities, or will her deep-seated doubts drive him away?

Rocky Ground is book four of Kaylea Cross` Crimson Point series, and a great addition too with its intense, deeply emotional and heartfelt storyline and characters that have you cheering them on all the way.

Tiana is a single mother who has been through a lot. She has sworn off men until Aiden sets his eyes on her. Aiden is Scottish and is friends with Tiana friends husbands. The harder Tiana pushes Aiden away, the more he falls for her. When an disaster hits and forces them to be together, Tiana slowly lets her walls down. But when Aiden’s work visa runs out and his contract job starts soon, can they make a long distance relationship work?
My favorite story of the Crimson Point series. It’s funny, sexy, suspenseful, and will leave you on the edge of your seat. I hated for it to end. I believe I could read about them forever. Mrs. Cross makes her characters come alive and her story sucks you right in.

The story is fast paces mystery that readers who have started from the beginning of the series will love. The romance is a little too fast seeing how Tiana has struggle with men in her life. This can be read as a stand alone novel but I think readers will enjoy this book if you start with book 1. This is a series that is worth reading from Book 1 to Book 4.
Rocky Ground is well paced romantic suspense with a cast of characters readers will fall head over feels in love with.

Thank you to Netgalley and Kobo Publisher for advance copy of Kaylea Cross Rocky Ground

I truly loved this story. I have been not so patiently waiting for Aidan to finally get his own story and for super mom, Tiana, to find her happily ever after with a good man for a change. Her luck had been pretty bad up to this point, but Aidan wants to change that. Tiana is used to handling everything herself and doing whatever it takes to raise her daughter as a single mom. Aidan is a bad bet for her since her choices in men in the past have been disastrous, and he is going back to Scotland soon. She has too many other things going on anyway. Aidan sees things differently. His time is short, and he wants to explore what he feels for Tiana. When a dangerous situation throws them together, they can't help but grow closer and work together. Aidan is both hot and super caring, and once he gets beyond Tiana's defenses, their connection is really sweet. I really enjoyed the story and catching up with all of my favorite characters.

I received an ARC from Net Galley.
