The story looked great and I really liked the romance part (I love YA & NA books). However, the kidnapping and everything around it was too much… Who goes to visit a touristic city when someone is trying to kidnap you and probably kill you? That part, IMHO, is useless.
The second thing: who tf is her father? Damiano or Dante? Too many irrelevant characters with a name is kinda confusing. Also, why so much talking about money? I know they’re rich but why the justification? If she has several Gucci bags and hasn’t worked yet a single day in her life, no one is going to believe that her money comes from investing her grandma’s inheritance … She comes from a wealthy family, she’s a rich girl. She can travel the world. We don’t care so much about the expenses or who pays what.
Finally, I think the ending was rushed. The resolution could have been different, especially the kidnapping part. And “meeting the biological family” was also a little weird and rushed, IMHO, especially since they were 75% of the book on the run.

Friends to lovers with some suspense. Sanders writes books that are entertaining and hold your attention and this one fits that bill!

I love friends to lovers romances but this book needs some editing. Jill Sanders is on the list of my must-buy authors because her stories are always memorable. I really liked the characters in this book. Jason is a hero that is swoon-worthy and Katie is like the girl next door. This story has a bit of everything, including romance, mystery, danger, suspense, and heartache. I'll definitely be reading the next book in the series!.

This is a friends to lovers story that has some problems. First- there are sections that are really hard to get through. I hate to use the B word (boring), but those sections need some pizzazz. Second- the story doesn’t end at the end. I think there should be a publishing letter that somewhere on the cover is a warning: “buyer use caution, this story continues.” And if not on the cover, then on the back of the flap. Automatic deduction of a star for that,

3.75 Hearts This is a sweet story of a woman who decides to take some “me” time but her best friend Jason follows.

There was a lot of things happening in this story but they were fun and enjoyable to read. The characters are written very well. I believe this is a re-release because it shows the date of 2013 and it does have a couple things I found dated but nothing that distracts from the story.

This is a great beach read. And easy read that takes you out of your head.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Jill Sanders creates magic when she puts pen to paper. Her words dance right into my heart. Her stories are always realistic. Her character's struggles are relatable. Jill Sanders is a phenomenal writer.

In Secret Seduction we are introduced to a new series. We meet Katie Derby and Jason Keaton. Jason is Katie's best friend. Katie finds out some recasting news that sends her on a journey.

Secret Seduction is about a woman's struggles and journey. Betrayed by someone she trusts and loves Katie becomes lost. I loved Secret Seduction. You not only get romance but you get adventure, intrigue, mysteries and heartwarming moments. You even get a cliffhanger. Phenomenal book. Grab your copy and fall in love with the Secret Series and Katie and Jason as I have.

What a good “friends to lovers” story about Katie and Jason who have been best of friends since the age of eight. This is a fast-paced story full of suspense, intrigue, heartache, danger, misunderstandings, mystery and mistakes. The story was not always believable and with so many characters, it was sometimes hard to follow.
Kate was never a girl how wanted much but she did have dreams…. It was a simple dream to a house, a few kids and the love of her best friend. But when life takes a dive in many areas of her life and her family Kate runs away to escape. This might not have been the right decision but it’s the move she made.

Jason must follow and complete what needs to be done even if it will forever affect his relationship with Kate. He must keep her safe but by keeping her safe will it bring them closer or even further apart in this crazy world they are mixed into at the moment.

I have not found the editing problems to be an as large an issue in this version so I am assuming this book has had a re-edit and new cover release since it was first published. This is book one in the Secret Series which I have had sitting on my kindle for some time but also received an arc from NetGalley not realising I already had it purchased. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This seems like a great start to a new series. I liked the childhood friends to lovers touch. Katie receives some upsetting news and leaves the country. Jason goes to find her and ends up being her protector when he secretly keeps her out of trouble. I look forward to the next installment.
Many thanks to Kobo Writing Life and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I thought the blurb sounded awesome but I found this very hard to read and I just could not get into it. I read about 1/3 of it and just couldn’t wrap myself around the hero basically stalking the heroine around Europe nor could I understand the weird relationship these two had. I didn’t like either one of them and if I knew there was going to be an almost kidnap, running away from kidnappers, a ransom & a weird biological father plot line I would never have requested this book. Not in my to buy or finish.

I really liked this friends to lovers story, driven by suspense. Katie and Jason had been friends since early childhood. After an awkward advance towards Jason, her secret crush, and a whole lotta family drama, Katie fled oversees to see the world and find herself. What she found, though, was lots of danger and no real certainty where the danger was stemming from. Cue our sexy hero to swoop in to protect her.

This story kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next and how Katie and Jason would finally get it together enough to “get together”. One trope that this book has that I’m not a big fan of is the “I’ll tell you everything, but let’s wait until X has happened and then I’ll tell you.” Maybe I have no patience, but IRL, that would NOT stand with me. I would not be able to let it go. But Katie seemed to be okay with it, so I just went along for the ride.

There were some misunderstanding in this story, not surprisingly that added into the chaos and confusion of the story. I don’t want to give away any spoilers so I won’t say too much about the suspense portion of the story, but the romance was quite sweet.

As a side note, Katie’s brother, Ric, and his side story had me so intrigued. Even though this is the first book in this series, I thought there has to be more there with Ric and his history so I looked and sure enough, his story is told in a different series. So, in addition to carrying on with this series, I now really want to delve into other books by this author!

Finally, I really liked the sneak peek at the next story in this series and I can’t wait to read it.

This was a fast paced love story full of suspense. Through circumstances of danger and intrigue, the reader really gets to know most of the characters and get a satisfying happy ending for the main couple. I would have loved a longer even more in-depth version of this book.

I have loved everything that this author has ever written. All of her books have been phenomenal reads. That is why I knew that this was going to be yet another great book. I highly highly recommend that you read this book as well as her past and future reads as well.

An interesting twist to the romance genre wrought with intrigue and multiple attempted kidnappings. Great characters with intriguing personalities definitely make the story line even stronger. Add in a bit of crossover from a previous series by this author and this book is a must a read. Now I need to read the next book in the series!

3.5 stars
This is a tightly-paced story that doesn’t let up! Katie gets some devastating news as the book begins, and after watching her ‘friends’ sell her out for money and their ‘15 minutes of fame,’ she gets disgusted and leaves the country to travel around Europe for a year. At this point, a few things just didn’t add up.

Jason has been tailing her for several months and she never once notices her best friend and the guy she’s been secretly in love with for years?? He even stands right next to her at a party wearing a mask. And he’s in his last year of law school and can just take off for months at a time and expect to be able to not only graduate, but to pass the bar in Italy? And Katie has been managing her own money for 10 years already according to one line in the book, but she’s 2 years younger than a final year law student... That puts her around 21, or 22. She started managing her inheritance from her grandmother at age 11 or 12?? Possible, but improbable...

Other than the things that just didn’t add up for this reader, this was a tightly-woven tale. There is suspense and a slight mystery with trying to figure out who is trying to kidnap her and how they keep finding her and Jason. The ending is beautifully scripted, with the adults putting their differences aside for the greater good of the young adults. There’s also a bit of a hook dangled in front of the reader regarding the next story in this series, and more information regarding the instigator of Katie’s kidnapping.

I was given an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
