Trevor works for his families company Merriam Oil & Gas and his older brother Connor is his boss. Trevor lives in Ireland, Connor sends him to try and convince Becca O’Neill to sell her land and so they can access a large oil deposit on shore.

Becca’s family has owned the land in County Cork for over four hundred years, they have used the large house for a B&B since 1920 and she refuses to sell Wild Irish Rose. Trevor underestimates how difficult his task will be, Becca sends him packing, she has the support of the locals and they don't want the area disturbed. Becca has plans to expand her business, she wants to dye her own wool, sell the yarn and knitted garments. Working by her side is Aileen and Cian O’Shea, Aileen bakes the best scones in Ireland and Cian has known Becca since she was a child.

Trevor’s Aunt Clara and Uncle Arthur are on their honeymoon, they book into Wild Irish Rose and Becca reluctantly lets Trevor stay. Becca has a menagerie of animals, a dog, a cat, sheep, rabbits and an alpaca called Buttercup. To everyone’s amusement Buttercup is rather taken with Trevor, she follows him around and Becca understands why! Trevor's a handsome man, the chemistry between him and Becca is intense, and they find themselves falling in love. But, Becca has a secret from her past, she struggles to do certain things, how can she tell Trevor, and Connor can’t understand why his brother is letting his heart get in the way of closing a lucrative deal.

Wild Irish Rose by Ava Miles, is a story set in beautiful Ireland, the characters in the narrative are wonderful, I really liked Becca, Trevor, Aunt Clara, Uncle Arthur, Cian, Aileen, Hargreaves the butler and of course Buttercup! Wild Irish Rose has the perfect amount of humor, banter, family dynamics, romance, and four stars from me.

The story is a new series where we find Trevor not like being ordered around by his older brother. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters.

A story of love, romance, family and friendship. Story clearly passes the message of what love can bring about in the lives of those involved. Loved all the characters in the book including the pets. Buttercup is fantastic.

Wild Irish Rose brought to life the country of Ireland. It was a sweet enemys to lovers story. Trevor Merriam has been sent to Becca O'neill's Bed and Breakfast to persuade her to sell the land for and outereageous sum of money. She turns it down just like she has Trevor's brother who desperately wants the land for their Oil and Gas Company. A tradegy at sea has the Ceo running scared vowing to never drill for oil at sea again. As Trevor skeems to get Becca to change her mind he instills his Aunt and her new husband to come for a visit to Ireland and stay at Becca's Inn.

Becca has her own trageic issues which play a part in her desires to never sell the Inn and land surrounding it. I do not want to go into detail to much. It was truly a pleasure to read. With a great cast of Characters and some loveable animals make this story one to keep.

Family romance series are always popular for Reader's Advisory in libraries. Romance readers like to get to know a family, feel part of it and watch the young ones grow up and fall in love.
The Merriams promise to be such a series, bonus book one takes place in Ireland at a Bed and Breakfast with the world's best scones. I can not forget the lovesick alpaca Buttercup and the whole Merriam brood who interferes with love in their hearts.
Patrons are going to love this one.

This was a story that started with a lot of promise, but then began to drag. I found myself skipping passages in order to get to the “meat” of the story. The author integrated lots of secondary characters and animals that should have been cute, but it all seemed too farcical. Maybe it was just me but I didn’t find it funny.

As you can probably tell from the blurb, this book treads a familiar plot line, where one person has something that another person wants, and it's all about the dance between them to see who will come out on top. In this case, the heroine has a lovely little B&B in County Cork, Ireland that, as she said, is not just her home but her sanctuary. The hero is an expatriate American businessman who lives in Dublin, and he wants the property—and is willing to pay an outrageous sum—for business purposes. What makes this story stand out is, of course, not the plot but rather the interaction between the two main characters. From the very first, the author pulled me right into the characters’ conversation and banter; it was fun to watch the heroine change when she realized who he was and what he was about. The book is quirky and quite charming. It was a book I didn't put down because I just wanted to continue to follow the antics of the characters. The only thing I didn't like was that there was a pretty severe information dump at the start of the book. It is just one of those pet peeves of mine. This author is such a good writer that I think she could have pulled off integrating backstory within the story much more fluidly. Still, this book was a delight, and I heartily recommend it.

All that wished an hoped for in a book. I really enjoyed this story and will read more from Ms. Ava Miles. Must read.

An amazing story of love, romance, family, friendship, forgiveness and support. Being a long time fan, it's good to know that Ava Miles can still weave a highly romantic story that is still fresh and engaging. And it doesn't hurt to have great animal characters included. Who wouldn't love to meet a love sick alpaca named Buttercup?

I adore Ava Miles writing and this book was not a disappointment. It was funny, sad and beautifully atmospheric. Made me want to travel to Ireland as soon as possible!

You just can't go wrong with one of Ava's books. Wild Irish Rose is a great story about Trevor Merriam and Becca O'Neill. Trevor wants the land Becca's B&B is on. The book is set in a beautiful Irish landscape. Very well written. Lovable characters. Definitely a must read.

Trevor Merriam is set to buy the wild Irish rose inn from Becca o Neil the oil and gas company he works for is buying the land for the crude oil.On the land ,he called with an offer and Becca flat out denied it.with the dangers of off shore drilling they really want to buy the inn.trevor is surprised by how beautiful Becca is. I like cozy inn stories but this one bored me.

Wild Irish Rose is a sweet and charming romance about an Irish innkeeper and the American businessman who has been sent to purchase her property. I was immediately taken with the writing style - the descriptions make you feel like you’re in the Irish countryside, and the reader gets a real feel for what the inn is like. I really enjoyed Trevor as a character - a businessman who has been sent to do a job but isn’t sure that he really wants to follow through. I never really warmed up to Becca though, and I had trouble rooting for them as a couple.

Unfortunately, after awhile the vivid descriptions that I enjoyed at the beginning of the book started to drag on and the abundance of side characters and subplots overtook the romance of the story. I got really bored with the whole thing and found it tedious to continue. While some may enjoy this more laidback style, I just wanted the story to move forward and the focus to be on the core couple. So ultimately, I have mixed feelings about the book. All I can say about this book is a great start to a series plus though out it , it had me laughing my head off with all the shenanigans that Trevor got into , all the time he was that the the Wild Irish Rose Bed and Breakfast . I loved how the author made the story come to life , as well as her characters . And how the animals came into play though out the story , how Trevor 's family came together as well . With that said I want to thank Netgalley for letting me read and review it exchange for my honest opinion.

We meet the Merriam family, a few generations and Becca, who owns the Wild Irish Rose Bed and Breakfast. Trevor was sent to Ireland to try to convince Becca to sell her land to the Merriam family because there is oil there. She refuses to sell but Trevor refuses to give up. At first, it was because he didn't want to disappoint his brother, but then it was because he finally had found love which he had never found before. Buttercup the alpaca, who is part of the Wild Irish Rose Bed and Breakfast, falls in love with Trevor and Buttercup made me laugh, right down to Trevor's family taking a video and putting it on the Internet which goes viral.
We learn Becca's story which is, yes, I will agree with one of the other reviewers a little slow but for me, it was the perfect pace for the story, because there were so many other people that added so much to the story that had to be told. The way the story was written was what gave me a wide range of emotions that this story made me feel. When a book can make me laugh, cry, feel happy and sad, and to see the Mirriam family come together and see them in action was wonderful. Yes, as I read the story, I could see it all so clearly in my head, it was amazing. As I write this review and think of Buttercup, it still makes me laugh. When I got the book I didn't expect it to bring out so many emotions because I am not an emotional person.

This novel had a lot charm. I usually enjoy romances set in Ireland unfortunately the protagonists were not as inspiring. Becca is an independent, Irish, bed and breakfast owner who refuses to sell her land to Trevor. He is hell pent on changing her mind. While this could have been the perfect recipe for a romantic comedy the story drags on with awkward and forced dialogue as well as dry humor. I was not taken with either characters.
