I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I requested this book because I have read several other books by this author and loved them.
I love the concept of this story is fun and lovable - but there’s a sad part too! I enjoyed the good, clean story with a great moral compass. Logan is an upstanding guy that totally deserves the respect that he gets at his new school. Jess couldn’t have met a better match!
The story itself had some issues that I’m hoping get fixed before it is officially published.

I LOVEEEEED this story. Logan and Jess were sexy, funny and irresistible together. Their banter and connection was amazing. I hope we get more from them in the future!

I’ve read other Sariah Wilson books and loved them- this one did not have the same magic. I ended up not being able to finish and stopped about 30% in. There was no spark, nothing that made me want to keep going. Sadly, this was just boring!

I am a big fan of Sariah Wilson , especially her Lovestruck series, Thanks to netgalley and Sariah for sending me this ARC . For my honest review. Let me start by saying this book does not disappoint. You get all that is Sariah , the chemistry between characters that you can feel from the first page, to the banter between characters . This story has it all

It’s easy to love Logan and Jess .and root for them to be together. You see the cocky side to Logan but then you see that soft side when it comes to Jess., and even though Jess is so incredibly strong you see her vulnerability . To watch their relationship evolve during this story just hits you in the feels

If your reading this review and are new to Sariah you will be hooked! Get ready fo binge read , trust me !

Sariah Wilson is an author that I stumbled up a few months ago. I've read three or four of her books and really enjoyed them all. Her latest book, The Friend Zone, is entertaining especially if you enjoy a YA sports romance.

Logan has made mistakes--ones that almost cost him his promising football career. He has a second chance now with a new team at a new school. The first person he meets is Jess, a girl who is also trying to start over and recover from a traumatic event. Jess is also the coach's daughter and therefore off limits. But Logan and Jess keep ending up together despite both of their efforts to keep things in the friend zone.

A warm and funny read.

I give this book 4 stars.

This is the story of Jess and Logan.

Logan has never had an easy life, so why would that change? When he agreed to take this new challenge at a new school, because he was determined to get his college degree and play another year of football, he was willing to do whatever was asked of him.

Jess, has had her own fair share of drama and now that she has her life on track, with college, being a math tutor and focusing on her future, she is in control of her life.

Until she has to pick up the two newest recruits for her father, the coach of the football team. When she picks up the cowboy from Texas, he has this aura to him that she can't help but get pulled too. Fortunately for Jess, she has no intention of ever dating another football player again. A hard lesson learned.

When Logan needs help with Math, he's assigned to none other than Jess, the girl who is unlike any girl he's ever dated before. The more they talk, the closer they become, and then the feelings start, which are strictly prohibited during the season.

Can friends who help one another stay friends? Or when you throw in feelings is it bound to ruin a friendship? At what cost will it come to Jess and Logan?

I thought this story had a good plot, it just seemed to drag on with little/no drama. It felt like it took forever to get to the end. I did enjoy the book, I just wished it would have progressed a little faster or had more drama in it that could keep the reader more intrigued.

Sariah Wilson is one of my one-click authors, she always deliver a story I fall in love with. The Friend Zone was all of that and more. Logan, a football player meets Jess, the coach's daughter and math tutor, they both agree to be just friends. Famous last words right? Jess will try her hardest to help Logan on the school and on the field. Logan finds himself facing a chemistry with Jess that is off the charts and is not one he can ignore.

This is my first read by Sariah Wilson and I'm pleasantly surprised.
THE FRIEND ZONE is not your typical New Adult, sports romance. I guess we get here some serious issues in plot line told in such relatable and likable way that you can't do nothing but love.

This is a love story between Logan, a football player who gets second chance finishing his degree and also play ball in collage and Jess, coach daughter who has been trough some stuff at her former collage and stays away from athletes. To keep things friend zoned is a set of rules that Jess's father installed. So there is no drugs, no drinking, studying, no swearing and yeah no dating. So even as the initial attraction is there Logan must follow the rules.

What follows is bunch of no dates where our hero and heroine get to know each other.
To show each other that they are more then what meets eye.

This is very cute and sweet read.

Now I'm curious about other side characters and their story, they definitely caught my eye.
Would recommend to all New Adult/ sport fans.

Thanks to Montlake Romance and Netgalley for copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

This story consumed me. I have to say I read this book in one night and will definitely re-read it. The chemistry between Jess and Logan was undeniable from the start. This is a second chance for both of them for Jess to leave her old life behind and try to move forward. For Logan he has a bad habit of acting first and thinking later. This is his last chance to make his dream come true. Will he blow it by breaking the rules?

When I saw that Sariah Wilson had a new book up on NetGalley, I requested it immediately. I loved her #Lovestruck series, so I had high hopes for this one.

I’m glad I had those high hopes. This book has been wonderful. Wilson’s writing style shines through in this book, it’s witty, full of chemistry and connections. You feel for her characters like you would a close friend. The emotions that flow from the page when it came to Jess and her history were intense, and when it came to Logan. Blimey, the emotion was real. You felt his pain.

Let’s start with Logan. I liked Logan. I loved his cheesy ‘Ben’ jokes and the puns. I liked his easiness, his cockiness at times, and get he was humble. That word gets used to describe him in the book and I think it’s perfect. As I mentioned above, you really do feel his pain when it came to his history. It was awful, but he’s strong for it, and determination is one of his strong suits. The way he treats Jess, and the way he helps her, makes him an even better character.

Jess. I liked her a lot. She wasn’t a braggy girl, she was sweet and kind. She was funny, witty, caring. I felt for her a lot. I felt sorry for her but at the same time I admired her for being as strong as she was. She was written well and we got plenty of her history to understand her.

The chemistry between them was instant, and I’m glad it was more of a slow burn romance than an instant one. I’m also glad that Sariah Wilson stuck with it being a clean romance story like her #Lovestruck series. She writes them so well and I was afraid this one was going to be different, but it wasn’t and I’m happy with that.

Overall thoughts. Another great story with more fabulous characters. I’m interested in Ford’s story and Bash’s story so I’m hoping for either of those next.

I absolutely devoured this book. I got it on let's just say a Monday, and finished it completely by Tuesday night. I drove myself slightly insane and may have compromised an hour or two of sleep just to finish this darned book, and I have no regrets at all. I mean, what was I expecting though? I love all of Sariah Wilson's books (and I was thrilled to see a reference to her Royals of Monterra series!), and this certainly was no different.
Overall:
Okay, so right off the bat, the first thing that I adored about this novel, is that truly, you can feel the chemistry and the electricity between Logan and Jess. Whether or not that was a combined effort of Coach's 'rules' and just them together, or just the singular effort of one of them, is another question. From the first moment that they meet, you can immediately read and see the attraction.
Characters:
I always felt that Sariah Wilson has a knack for weaving in perhaps 'darker' themes or more serious issues within her novels, in this case, issues of sexual assault or implied rape, as well as alcoholism and emotional/physical abuse. Obviously, I'm not the best person to verify or comment on how she accomplishes this, but, from my point of view, Wilson maintains a well-rounded view and respect in the discussion of these issues that are indeed quite sensitive.
Jess - I adored Jess as our lead heroine in this story. She's strong, quick, witty, smart and complex, basically what any of us want in a heroine. She has a past and there are visible (or readable?) scars but she attempts to move past them, which I have to say I respect.
Logan - now everyone on cue, swoons when they read about Logan. And how could you not? (I mean just look at the smouldering football player on the cover.. - I'm a bit undecided on the cover personally...) A tough as nails football player (admittedly with his own issues), handsome, strong and determined to get his education to overcome the path his stepfather set him on. Personally, what I loved most about his character (apart from his incredible love for Jess), was his ambition and his dedication to his goals.
Now, a small side note on a certain not-so-nice female character. I'm not going to lie. I was a bit disappointed to have her annoying presence in the story, thinking that she was just a typical ditzy, mean Barbie-girl there as a foil to show how amazing Jess was. But I was pleasantly surprised towards the end of the novel, where there was some more depth revealed about Danielle. I didn't really like her still, but it was nice to see some more depth created for a character archetype that is often overdone as a means of pitting women against women.
ALSO - I'm really, truly hoping for Ford and Keilani's story. I would have loved to see more of them in this story, but would be over the moon if they get their own little happily ever after. Wilson seemed to set it up well....

Storyline and Plotting:
Perfect. Just enough action, with just enough movement. Perfect. That's all that I can say.

Overall - just a fantastic read. Cute, sweet, clean yet jam-packed with intense electricity.
Note: I was generously provided an ARC of this novel by the publisher and author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and views expressed are my own.

I have never read a book by Sariah I didn’t like and this was no exception. A sweet romance about two people who had suffered and needed to see love. Logan was so funny and they really brought out the best in each other. Another win for Sariah!!

A lovely new adult romance read. Very much enjoyed the characters, and it was nice to see a father/daughter relationship.
Just the right amount of drama and romance

I’m a sucker for a good romance that’s sports related. I’ve never read anything else from this author, but after this book I want to read them all. You will not be disappointed reading this book!

Sariah Wilson is one of those authors that as soon as she drops a new book, I will read it, and I have always loved each and every one of them. At least, up until now, and with how her writing is going, I’m going to predict that I will continue to love anything she puts out, as long as it’s not fantasy or scifi (which is just because I haven’t been enjoying reading those genres).

Onto the actual book itself. One, it’s football. I’m a sucker for sports books, as I have said over and over again. The romance is super sweet. Logan, a football player has hit rock bottom in Texas, and coming to EOL (the school) to play football on a scholarship is his chance to start over, and it’s one he’s going to take, even if it means that he has to follow all the strict rules. Jess, the coach’s daughter, is strictly off limits. She’s a math tutor, and guess what? She’s assigned to tutor Logan. It’s genuine; they try to stay friends but their chemistry is undeniable. When they do descend into something more, it’s hot and amazing. I love how their passion oozes out of the page, this is something that only a talented and skilled writer can accomplish, and Sariah has done that, and more! I don’t even know how! It’s incredible to read her writing.

There’s something about a broken background that makes characters super mysterious, and that’s the definition of Logan. He’s gone through trouble since he was a little kid, and that’s carried into the way he acts, and the way he’s looking for the second chance that this new school and football team offers him. With Jess, she’s gone through some things that ended up getting her dad fired from his old job, and uprooted the both of them across the country, and she’s the reason for the NO GIRLS rule the team has. But as we all know, rules are meant to be broken, right?

I really loved the dynamic between Logan and his roommate/best friend/teammate Bash. While Bash isn’t a super in depth character, we get enough of him to see that he loves football, and he has his bro’s back. He’s a 100% rule follower, which makes him a slight softie.

Along with that, Jess and Kehlani, the academic advisor’s dynamic is also great. Though Kehlani is slightly older and is working for the coach, they are both close and Kehlani has Jess’s back, whether it’s to go to a party and be her wingman, or to be there with ice cream.

One thing that I would have liked more of was the interactions between Jess and Danielle, the girl that she’s competing against in everything, after Danielle reveals a very big piece of personal information. It seems like she kinda just disappeared…and it would’ve been nice to see more of that.

The epilogue though. When I got to it, I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but it was AMAZING! I want a sequel to this so badly. Even if it’s just a couple more chapters about their life afterwards. Please Sariah? Make this happen?

Ok, to avoid any spoilers, I’m going to stop here. I feel like I’m missing so much, but I don’t want to ruin anything for you guys, so you will just have to read it and see. I believe that the book comes out this summer, but pre-order links are already out so, what are you waiting for? GO GO GO PREORDER IT!

Quick slightly unrelated note, but also kind of related, as a graphic designer, I can’t not notice the cover, and guys, look at it! It’s so brilliant! Fri[end] zone? End zone? Football reference? Friends? Jess and Logan insisting on just staying friends to not get in trouble? Ok I’m done lol.

So, I give this book a 9/10 (5/5 stars). I’m just a little annoyed at how Danielle seemed to disappear, and think that it would have added so much more, and reveal why she was so mean all the time, but that’s also not the focus here. There were a few loose ends that seemed to just fade away which isn’t super disturbing but was enough for me to notice.

This book had a lot of potential, it started out really strong and Sariah Wilson has some writing chops. There were moments that literally made me laugh out loud -- and more than one of those. But unfortunately those moments didn't outweigh the fact that I didn't feel the chemistry between Logan and Jess, the banter left much to be desired, and I felt like the feelings they developed for each other were TOLD to me not SHOWN to me. Which is disappointing because based on those laugh out loud moments I experienced, I think that if Ms. Wilson gave me more banter and spent more time showing these two interacting with each other (instead of giving us their feelings as internal monologues) - this could have been a smashing hit.

Ultimately, it was a DNF for me at 48%. I found myself skimming and bored and wishing for that ache in my heart that lets me know I'm connected to the characters and their love story. It's light and sweet and will likely appeal to many, but I think the storytelling in this just didn't work for me.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I have to say Sariah Wilson does it again. I'm in love with this book. Once I started I could not put it down. This book is about second chances. Even tho it is called The Friend Zone. It is more than that. It is about getting second chances of doing the right things. Making the right choices, taking responsibilities that could have dire consequences.
Logan is given an opportunity to go to college for free, finish his degree and play college football, but there are rules. Rules in place to make sure you stay accountable to the program. Jess is the football's Head Coach daughter. She is one of the rules, Don't Date Her.
Jess tutor's Logan in math, Jess has a crush on one of the other Math tutors. Logan decides to help her get a date with this other guy. Even though he feels some kind of connection with her, he decides he can not break the Coach's rule. From there the adventure begins for Logan and Jess. You really get to see how each other thinks and how unsure of what to do next.
If you have read any of Sariah Wilson books, you will see she takes you on adventure and doesn't disappoint in the very end of the book. Can't wait until her next books comes out!

Logan and Jess meet when he shows up to his last chance at college to aim big in his life. There is just something about Jessica that he is intrigued about. But this last chance, at this college, there are rules, including no dating, no sex, no drugs, no cursing, no typical college fun stuff, the coach has forbidden it, and he is serious. Also, Jess is the coach's daughter, and she is definitely forbidden.

Logan didn't have the greatest childhood, he wants to make his life better, he doesn't like to be dirty, live dirty, he has alot of anger but starts to channel the calm because he knows if he does anything wrong, his future to a better life is gone! Your heart will break for him and learning about his childhood. You just want the all the best for this guy, because he is a stand up guy, honest, sweet and absolutely in love with Jess.

Their story goes into the whole tutor/student aspect, but they become friends. She also has a crush on someone else, and Logan wants to help her but during the process, they start to fall for each other, and Jess knowing how hard Logan needs to succeed while being in this college, she doesn't want to be reason he loses everything by dating her or loving her. Their chemistry, their touches, their gazes sizzlin....They are fighting it, and it was fantastic to read. While there is no sex, you don't miss it in this book, while it would've been HOT to read since their amazing chemistry is there, I didn't miss it. I'm hoping Keilani and Ford gets their book!!!! Definitely recommend.
