This unfortunately wasn’t my type of book, I finished reading it as I didn’t want to leave it unread as I’d started it. The story and the lifestyle wasn’t what I would usually read.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a honest review.

I have read several of Ms Perry's books before, and once again I wasn't disappointed! I enjoyed this book a lot, and can't wait to get my hands on the next one! Recommended.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

This was a pretty average read to be honest. Enough intrigue to keep going and finish the book, but not enough to actually make you excited to read on. It was an easy read that didn’t really require, or provoke, too much thought. It won’t put me off reading more of Tasmina’s books though because sometimes a simple book like this is just what a person wants.

Another fantastic read from Tasmina Perry. I was totally gripped and really enjoyed the twists at the end. Highly recommended!

I’ve always loved Tasmina Perry’s books and this one certainly did not disappoint. It’s a really great thriller with an ending that I didn’t see coming. I loved the storyline and I quickly engaged with the characters. It’s worthy of a very strong 4 stars.

My first Tasmina Perry book, the story was fun in some ways. Amy seemed to have it all, a brilliant career and a family and an intern who invigilated into her office and her life. The initial part was a bit slow, but the story picked up soon when Amy's paranoia and doubts on the intern increased, and the end was explosive.

Tasmina's writing was smooth, her storytelling appeared old-fashioned, the kinds I like. Amy felt a bit off in her characterization, she could have been fleshed out more.

Overall, it was a fun read.

I have loved all of Tasmina Perry's previous books and this one did not disappoint.

Amy works at a magazine and one of her friends asks her a favour. If she will give her daughter a weeks work experience...

Should Amy have agreed to this?

There were many twists and turns in this novel and it captivated me.

I cannot wait for more by the same author.

I enjoyed this book. A tale of trust and deception with elements stretching back to the university days of some of the characters. I did find it hard to root for any characters in particular, some were annoying, some were actively unpleasant and others were more non existent. However, I did want to know what happened, and whilst the ending may not have been the most shocking or 'twistful' it was satisfying and that is good enough!

I honestly did not expect it to be the person it ended up being. The protagonist was likeable and the story was quick paced. A few plot holes but they were minor. Good for a holiday read

A truly fun read, full of twists and unexpected revelations - great for fans of Louise Bagshawe and Louise Candlish. It got a bit far-fetched towards the end, but to be honest that's part of the joy in true escapism.

I’ve been meaning to read a Tasmina Perry book for a very long time. I had a few of her books years ago but never got around to reading them, and I have no clue what happened to them! So, I was really excited when this one popped up on NetGalley; it was the perfect chance to give one of her books a try.
I’m afraid I was a little disappointed, though, it took me ages to actually get into this book. I felt a bit lost at the beginning as there were many references to the upper-class world, Oxford University, and the fashion and magazine industry which I just couldn’t follow.
However, once the story got going, it did grip me a little more. Especially, the 1995 sections. These gave an insight into the backstory of the majority of the characters, so they really padded out the story and enabled you to get to know the motives of everyone a little better.
The protagonist, Amy, was a little annoying. She went from zero to paranoid and insane within no time at all. For a high-flying professional woman, she didn’t handle everything that was thrown at her very well. I would have expected her to have finessed a little more decorum over the time she had been spending with the upper class, rich society. However, her paranoia was based on very little. I would have liked a little more suspicion to have been planted for her to get to the point she was at. She was acting crazy on very little.
The end of the book was probably the best as I thought I had it figured out but hadn’t and it took me completely by surprise. However, looking back over the book the breadcrumbs were there.
So, overall, it wasn’t a bad book it just could have been better, and I’d expected more from such a long-standing successful author. Maybe I went in with too high expectations. I might still give another of her older books a try at some point to see perhaps if it was just this one that didn’t quite hit the spot.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. I was so looking forward to reading this book as I liked the previous book by this author and I was so not disappointed. A great read

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Story based on friendship, loyalty and careers. Kept me on the edge of my seat, with the twists and turns this story took. I was never sure who to trust in the story, and loved that I could not predict what was going to happen.
Josie trusts her friends and her husband, but coincidental events... are they really coincidental? Or is Josie paranoid?

Friend of the Family isn't a bad book but it has been marketed wrong. If you're looking for a thriller then move past to the next book, this one is the usual fashion story full of bitchiness and drama. I barely made it through, there was a number of times I contemplated just giving up on reading this.
It's not badly written and the storyline is okay but if you want a twisty thriller than leave Friend of the Family alone.
