An OK book, but the main character is so irritating and unlikeable that it is hard to engage with the story. It was obvious what was going on from the beginning, and I really didn't enjoy this book much at all.

I've not read a Tammy Cohen book before so had no idea what to expect but I'm so glad I did.
This is a great thriller, beautifully written with enough pace and suspense to make me reluctant to put it down.
I could easily empathise with the main character, being a mum myself and the description of her parents situation is exactly what mine are going through at the moment so I found myself reading parts out to whoever I was being unsociable enough to ignore.
Well worth a read and I'll be recommending this one. Many thanks.

This novel was absolutely riveting. It does not take the path you expect it to AT ALL. It was only in the last quarter that I started having stronger suspicions and putting things together. Honestly, I would LOVE a sequel to this. The second perspective was so menacing and then so... clarifying. It totally threw me.

I can't say too much about this novel without giving away all the twists and turns!

The note I want to end this review on is that the characters were absolutely fantastic. I had mixed feelings about one, not because she was poorly written but because she was so well written - she felt SO real and she was so frustrating! I related so strongly to Em, the way she feels things and internalises, and I adored the side plot with Rosie. I would totally re-read this and I can't wait to see more reviews. Five stars.

This was a solid psychological thriller if fairly predictable. I didn’t find the main character all that likeable for large parts of it, which made it somewhat harder to click with the story but all in all this is a good effort - and whilst not entirely my cup of tea I’m sure genre fans will love it.

Unfortunately, this is the first book I've DNFed this year. I just cannot get into it at all. I keep trying; it's been days and I'm only 15% through. I just do not care about the characters which is surprising. A young girl is attacked on her way home from a night out with friends and an older girl saves her from whatever fate was predetermined. Both girls fail to identify the attacker from a lineup and the mother of the girl isn't very happy. I'm sure there is so much more to this story but life is too short. If I find myself at a loose end and without anything more promising on my TBR pile, I'll give this one another go as I'm aware this isn't the most fair of reviews but being the single-minded person that I am, and that is not one to give up on books, if I can't get into it after days and multiple attempts, I'm never going to. Sorry, Tammy Cohen!

Gripping read of a Mother’s many dilemmas.

Can Tess's life get any more difficult? Recently divorced, made redundant, had to move house, her oldest daughter has disowned her, her mother has dementia and is being cared for by her ageing father and then one night her 16-year-old daughter is attacked.

The book starts with the identification parade, Em has to see if she can identify her attacker. The descriptive writing of a mother looking on unable to say or do anything to support her daughter at this most distressing time had me hooked.

No identification is made so no one is arrested for the crime, the attacker remains on the loose, Tess is convinced it’s a local man and in trying to protect her family everything spins out of control, frightening events occur which supports Tess's suspicions.

However her friends and family grow concerned about her obsession and things happen to make her question whether she is she losing her grasp on reality, the only person who seems to support her suspicions is Frances who saved Em from the attacker.

Frances unknown to the family until the attack soon becomes a trusted confidant for both Tess and Em and ingratiates herself into their lives. But over time Frances is becoming too needy and Tess tries to distance herself with disastrous effects.

My first Tamar Cohen read and won't be my last, thoroughly enjoyed the book, just a few aspects didn't seem necessary but that didn't detract from my enjoyment. I would happily recommend.

Taramindo.

I’m afraid I just didn’t enjoy this one. I didn’t sympathise with the characters, & I could tell what was going to happen from very early on. I’m sure it’s one I’ll still be able to recommend to people who enjoy similar reads, it just wasn’t for me.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Tessa's marriage has broken up and her husband is with another woman, her daughter Rosie wants nothing to do with her and she lives with her other daughter Emma. One night Emma is attacked on her way home and Tessa becomes fixated on who did it. She is convinced she has seen him near by and will do everything to keep hr family safe.
But will her family end up in more danger by her actions?
This is a gripping book and I couldn't put it down.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. I've read several other books by Tammy Cohen so was excited to read this one, and it didn't disappoint. I felt the plot of a mother seeking justice for her daughter make it different from a lot of other domestic thrillers, and the plot was gripping and well-paced. I was invested in the characters and storyline, although felt the ultimate reveal was in part predictable.

Rating: 4 stars

Tessa is a loving mum to two daughters, Rosie and Emma. When Emma is attacked on her way home from a party, and then the identity parade falls apart, her world falls apart too. When Tessa sees her daughter's attacker on the street nearby, living just around the corner from herself and Emma, how far will Tessa go to keep her daughter safe?

I really loved this book. It was a proper page-turner, and when I hit 90% through on my lunch break today, I was furious that I had to go back to work instead of finishing the novel. Cohen had me totally invested from page one. Tessa made some really stupid decisions, but they felt realistic and characteristic of a scared woman on her last resort to protect her children. From the summary, I was curious about how the novel would progress when the attacker was known from the start, but there was enough threat and mystery to make this an addictive read, with secrets and hidden histories cropping up all the time. Cohen left breadcrumbs throughout the novel, so I felt like a conspiracy theorist frantically putting clues together to find my own narratives. I was wrong about some of them, and right about some of them (one of which I'm extremely smug about calling as early as I did).

The book is so real to life I was able to picture it as though it was my family that was involved and I found it hard to put it down.

Your daughter has been attacked and you desperately want to protect her. During an identity parade she is unable to pick out the perpetrator, you on the other hand pick him out from the little your daughter is able to remember. You follow this man, you stalk him and even embark on a hate campaign. You k ow it is wrong but you can't stop. You just know that it is not going to end well.
The story was good, I found Tess the mother very annoying at times and wanted to shake her and tell her to get a grip. The book itself was too long and seemed to drag out. I love reading this author but in my opinion this read is not as good as her others I have read. Saying that I am sure other readers of this genre will enjoy it more. Just not for me.
I would like to thank the author, Random House UK and Netgalley for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.

This book just screamed out to be read with its dramatic red cover and its title “Stop At Nothing” it lured me like a moth to a flame.

Having read several of Tammy Cohen’s books, although I thought I knew from the blurb which direction this book may be going I know that this author is never predictable and will take me on a roller coaster of a ride!! And boy was I right.

This book was so bloody brilliant. Where do I start? First of all you had me gripped frantically turning the pages until sadly I got to the last addictive page and then I wanted to start it all over again.

Every parent wants to make sure their children are safe no matter what age they are. Just like wild animals protect their young, parents will stop at nothing to stop their children being hurt even if that means crossing the line!!

When Tess’s daughter is attacked coming home from a party on a bus, first she feels guilty for letting her come home alone and then she wants revenge when it seems the assailant will not be found guilty.

Tess is in a vulnerable state. She is going through a divorce, the menopause and falling out with her eldest daughter Rose. This is the straw that broke the camels back!! She is desperate to get justice for her daughter who she can see has been greatly affected since the attack and becomes obsessed with the assailant which sparks of a chain of disastrous events.

Would score this book more than 5 starts.

Loved the surprise twist at the end. I actually stood up and clapped when I read the ending which surprised the other passengers on the bus!!!

A truly gripping psychological tale of a mother's love for her daughter after an assault, the desire for revenge and the unintended unexpected consequences.

This is a good, solid read, but, just not as good as others that I've read by this author.

A mother (Emma) tries to protect her daughter (Tess) who has been attacked. It's got twists and turns, I just got increasingly frustrated with the mother and felt the story dragged slightly.

Overall though, an OK read.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to preview.

There is no doubt in my mind that Tammy Cohen is one of the best writers of psychological thrillers and I was thrilled to be asked to take part in the blogtour for her latest book STOP AT NOTHING.

Once again the author has weaved a clever, gripping and twisty tale which captures the readers imagination and takes us on a journey full of fear, dread and tension.  Tess is a divorced mother of 2 girls, struggling to cope with everything including her redundancy, the side effects of the menopause, her husband abandoning her, her eldest daughter refusing to speak to her and her aged parents living with dementia miles away.

When her 15 year old daughter Emma is attacked on the way home from a party Tess' turbulent world is tipped upside and her "Mother's Instinct" goes into overdrive to protect her family and get justice against the alleged attacker.

There were so many aspects and layers in this book which gave added depth in particular watching Tess' parents dealing with her mothers dementia and her father struggling to be the full time carer but refusing to put her mum in a home; the anger and feelings of betrayal when her husband leaves her for another women; coping with the often embarrassing and difficult side effects of the menopause, the shame and desperation to reconnect with her eldest daughter and being made redundant from a job she adored after so many years.  All these aspects made STOP AT NOTHING more than just the regular psychological thriller.

Throughout the book the reader experiences a sense of dread and we know something or someone isn't quite what it seems, but I wasn't able to put my finger on who or why until the end.  Another cracking and twisty thriller from Tammy Cohen.  Recommended.

3.5 stars, rounded down.
I pretty much guessed this book way too early (in the first third) and so the majority of the book did drag for me. It was cruising for just the three stars until the end when the author did manage to salvage a win as she threw me a curve ball that I wasn't expecting. Hence the extra half star, sadly not quite enough to warrant rounding-up
Emma is attacked on the way home from a party. It could have been a lot worse had Frances, a fortunate passer-by, not intervened and save her. Frances then takes Emma home to her mother Tess and explains what happened. The police are called and they start their investigation and soon hone in on a suspect. But things go a bit south when neither Emma nor Frances can pick said suspect out of a line-up. Then Emma thinks she sees the man in the street near where they live. Tess isn't having any of the police inactivity and, supported by Frances, starts to take matters into her own hands...
As I said already, I guessed this. Now, whether this is because the author made it a bit too easy or if, due to the fact this is my bred & butter genre, I just recognised certain signs along the way; I'm not sure. But it happened, and it kinda ruined the majority of the book for me cos instead of being shocked and surprised at what I was reading, I was tending towards rolling my eyes at it. It's a shame really as I have read this author before and have been impressed by what she served up.
It probably didn't really help that I failed to really connect to any of the main characters. This is a key elements in this genre book for me as I need to care about what they are going through but sadly, quite frankly, I didn't really care too much about what Tess had done, was going to do, or what happened to her. She did play the drama-queen-victim a little too well for my liking...
All in all, it was a quick easy read for me but failed to deliver the punch I expect from this genre. As the author already has a good track record with me, it won't prevent me from reading more by her. My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Overall, this is a good read. I did feel quite frustrated witht he main character at some points and felt that it was a bit too long.

Overall this is a good read. I thought though that it was too long in places and almost rambling. I think I would have liked the book more if it had been shorter.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.
