This is a swashbuckling adventure story with great illustrations and a story that overflows with tension, drama and mystery.

Jakob Kayne is a Hippocrat. He and his brother are gifted healers with mysterious abilities to heal and help people in need when called upon to do so. Jakob is also a memory eater and people cannot recall his face once they have seen him.

Jakob travels to a beseiged town to help a family who have called upon him. There he gets between two warring factions in order to help and heal the family but this time he feels something deep for the woman he heals and yet he has to rescue her in the midst of war, plague and devastation. Jakob finds himself caught up in the intrigues of war and yet he knows that he must follow this woman to know more.

Good artwork with a great story and definitely worth reading subsequent books once they are published.

This graphic novel has a cool art style and an interesting story. I"ll be recommending this one to our patrons.
