Bryony Gordon is the most amazing writer! She writes exactly what I think but so much more articulately than I could. She's honest, funny and real, which makes her books a joy to read.

Nice sentiment and cool design - i would love to give *some of this * book to my future daughter.

But, as someone who has suffered with acne for 15 years, the chapter on this is categorically not good advice. The book suggests just to ignore acne rather than approach it as something that can be treated with prescribed medication from the gp. Other parts of the book were also quite superficial at times - like the parts about not needing to get good grades or about having sex (the sentiment of just not having sex was peddled, just like what we learnt in school). What would have been helpful is more research and practical pointers about all the things you can do without getting a million a* at gcse - work experience schemes, apprenticeships etc.

The mental health section was, as expected, tremendous.

I’m glad and grateful I got to read this book but at the same time, it doesn’t hold up to comparison titles - Laura Coryton’s SPEAK UP! and Laura Bates’ GIRL UP, as it doesn’t feel very solid or backed up by research/ stats/ examples, as a good argument would be.
