Thrill ride. Definately a rollercoaster of suspense. I could not put it down. Awesome read. I would definately recommend this book and author.

What a fun spin on the domestic psychological thriller genre. When Amber, a local celebrity moves into Lucy’s neighbor, Lucy is bound and determined to become friends with her. When Amber starts getting creepy messages from a stalker Lucy is quick to get to the bottom of it and protect her new bestie. But their friendship isn’t exactly what it seems and it ends up taking a turn for the worse. While I thought there was some areas that dragged on I was overall very engaged with this book and had trouble putting it down. I couldn’t wait to see how everything unfolded. Very surprising ending!

The latest book I read is "The Woman Next Door" by Sue Watson and at the beginning of this book, I had no idea how it would progress.

Lucy Metcalfe is the main character and is taken with her neighbor, local weathergirl, Amber Young. Amber soon discovers she has a stalker and Lucy becomes a little obsessed with protecting her friend. Everyone in Lucy's life from her friends to her husband Matt tries to tell her that Amber is no good and cannot be trusted.

As the novel progresses, you start to see signs that maybe everyone is right about Amber and maybe there is something off about her. Lucy refuses to see it and Amber keeps taking advantage of her friend's kindness. However, at some point you start to realize that maybe something is off with Lucy... and now no one seems to be in their right mind.

The book progresses on and on, with a few twists and turns. You think you know what is happening but then Watson pulls the rug out from underneath you, continually. Nothing is at seems in "The Woman Next Door" and just when you think the book is over, the real bomb is dropped.

I don't remember reading a book with this many twists (and I love a good twist) -- it was really suspenseful without being scary. It wasn't a creepy story... just trying to figure out who was stalking the weathergirl.

If you love psychological thrillers that aren't too intense but have a great storyline, this is for you! I think it might be one of my favorite books of the year.

This is a fun book that reads like a twisty soap opera, with stalking, lies, obsession, infidelity, and so much more. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

The foreshadowing was a little too heavy handed and I had an idea what was going on from the beginning. It felt like I was meant to feel attached to a certain characters but I really didn't care for her or for any of the other characters. They all felt flat and scripted. I often thought of the author and how they wrote the book instead of getting lost in the book like I normally do.


After taking a glance at Goodreads, I am in the minority of people that did not love the book. I still think it is an interesting plot but it just all fell flat for me.


I would still recommend this book.

Matt and Lucy, who are both in their forties, are just your average and happily married (although childless) couple with good jobs and a nice house. When Amber, who is a minor celebrity, moves into the neighborhood Lucy is thrilled and the two quickly form a friendship.
Lucy is a doting friend with poor self esteem and a bit naive. Amber is beautiful and glamorous as well as self centered and mean.
Strange things begin to happen to Amber and convinced she has a stalker, Lucy invites her to move in with her and Matt.
Drum roll please......because what could possible happen???
This story is told from both women’s point of view which I really liked. It just got better the more I read.

This is the first time I read Sue Watson and I enjoyed the story.
I did find book slowing down in pace in the middle and becoming a bit boring

The story is about school teachers name Lucy, Lucy's husband Matt and Lucy's friend Amber.
Lucy is childless but happy in her world. A celebrity( weather girl) Amber moves next door and Lucy strikes a friendship with her. How Amber uses Lucy for her own purpose forms the rest of the story.

The ending of the book was surprising .

All Her Secrets is another outstanding thriller by Sue Watson, this has everything, obsession, jealousy, stalking and lies.
Lucy is although childless, happy, married to a loving and caring husband with a lovely home on Mulberry Ave until Amber the local tv weathergirl moves into number thirteen....unlucky for some!
Amber is used to getting what she wants and has a carefree life and tries to reject Lucy’s offer of friendship, that is until she starts getting threatening messages and weird presents left for her and the feeling someone is in her house. Lucy invites her to stay with them and when Amber reveals she is pregnant she stays there until she’s had the baby, scared to go back home in case the stalker attacks her.
This was a brilliantly written psychological thriller that had a very tense feeling to it, I flew through the pages and rode the twists and turns as best I could but ended up barking up the wrong tree. Unlikeable characters enhanced this read for me and the ending was the best it could have been, cleverly ensuring there are no loose ends.

When a glamorous woman moves into a very large home across the street, Amber recognizes her as the weather girl for a local TV station. Amber welcomes her to the neighborhood and soon they are enjoying girls’ nights out together.

Before long, Amber starts receiving threatening texts and disgusting gifts left on her doorstep. As she lives alone and is terrified, Lucy insists that she stay with them as long as she feels necessary. Lucy goes out of her way to spend time with Amber and make her feel welcome. Although Matt is busy is school with his theatrical students, he is patient with Amber living in their home.

When Amber becomes pregnant, Lucy insists that she remain there so Lucy can care for her and her daughter, Mia, after she is born. But things are still not as they should be and soon problems begin to arise. Who is threatening Amber and why? Can Lucy and Matt’s marriage withstand the constant presence of Amber and Mia?

This is a thriller that makes the reader see how pathetic Lucy is for friendship and to have a little baby around. But more is afoot than that. This book will surprise you so stick with it even if you want to give Lucy a kick.

This book is a captivating and intriguing read about two quite different women, Lucy and Amber. Lucy is a school teacher married to Matt and has everything she wants but a baby. This book is about toxic friendships, lies and obsessions, with an excellent final twist at the end. A very enjoyable read even though I got exasperated at times with Lucy’s naivety!

I can’t resist a good story about toxic friendships. Amber is Lucy’s new neighbor. She is a TV star who lives an exciting, glamorous life. Amber is exactly what Lucy needs to liven up her mundane life. However, Lucy soon realizes that Amber isn’t the friend that she thinks she is. Wait a minute though, is Lucy also who she says she is?

I think I’d describe this one as a quiet story. Reading the story was like watching the sun goes down, you know how light fades and darkness falls slowly until it suddenly engulfs everything. The story was the same way. I was slowly drawn in and soon found myself completely lost in the unfolding drama. I could see all the red lights that the characters couldn’t so I waited with trepidation for the reveals.

Although I knew that the friendship was toxic, there are certain things that I never could have predicted. The final twist and ending had my head spinning. I thought I knew who the baddie was but I clearly had no idea. In addition, there was an anonymous character who narrated a few chapters. I thought it was obvious who the person was but oh boy, I was wrong! I love how this book ended up surprising me.

The Woman Next Door by Sue Watson is a story about lies, obsession and toxic friendships. It is an entertaining read with well developed characters and an entertaining story-line.

What a book. I was hooked just from the cover and description. Thankfully I was not disappointed. This is a fast paced read. Easy to read. Your on the edge of your seat wondering which way it’s heading. Fantastic read

The kind of story you think you have an idea where it is going but then you're wrong... and you just keep reading and want to know the end!

Well written, interesting, intriguing, captivating thriller! The atmosphere, tension, characters, plot, twists.... everything well developed.

Like I always say "everybody lies", you can never trust people, don't get fooled by what you see and don't believe a word they say... That's how I think now thanks to all those psychological thrillers I read ;)

This was a great read, at first I thought I knew where it was headed, but, I was completely wrong. It kept me guessing all the way through and had a twist at the end. The characters are designed to be unlikeable and they truly are!

In this book we meet Lucy who has a lovely job, husband and beautiful house but things begin to change when Amber moves onto her street. The Woman Next Door is quite a dark and twisty tale, I soon became involved in the story especially as the characters made me shake my head on occasion at their actions. You know that feeling where you just want to reach in and tell them to be careful!

The Woman Next Door moves at a good pace and it didn’t take long to get the sense that this story was going to go down a dark path. Especially as Lucy and Amber’s friendship becomes even more tangled with threats against Amber ramping up the tension. I loved the contrast between the two characters with one bold and one more reserved. With Lucy being so happy that Amber would want to spend time with her, should she be more cautious though? The characters are flawed but I think this makes them all the more interesting and I eagerly turned the pages to see what would happen next!

There were also snippets from an unknown voice that added an extra menacing side to the story. I kept asking myself questions throughout especially changing my mind and I think this is always a good thing. I like to be kept on my toes and for the most part this book did just that. There are bucket fulls of drama throughout this story along with plenty of lies and secrets at its heart!

Emphatically all the stars from me!!! Oh my word, how much did I enjoy reading this book?! Absolutely brilliant, in fact I'm not sure where to start. The plotting was intricate and the strands of the story were so well woven together. You loved people, you hated people and lo and behold you found yourself loving them again. We had the vulnerable, but manipulative Amber, the glamour girl we're a little jealous of. Then there's Lucy, whose desire for a family never happened and she finds solace in a new glamorous friend. And in the mix we have desire and jealous and a whole lot of troubled pasts.

The writing draws you in, the characters are real, the pacing is fantastic. Just over half way and there's a WTF just happened moment that turns everything on its head. LOVED IT! The story ramps up, everything turns to shit and just when you think it's all settled down... WHAM we get THAT ENDING!

Fabulous. Can't wait for Sue's next book!

I had high hopes for Watson’s new thriller All Her Secrets after reading her previous novel Our Little Lies. I found this novel to be an easy, enjoyable, and fun book however, it was predictable and didn’t add anything original to the thriller genre.

This book has it all.
I was hooked from page 1 and didn’t want to stop reading.
