Your average thriller. I didn't think it was too bad, but likely won't ever re-read it. It definitely had a few more twists and turns than I had expected, which pleasantly surprised me.

This was a quick read. I listened to the whole audiobook in one day and it kept me interested the whole time.

This was a thrilling read, full of twists and turns until the very end. I love Ms Halsall's writing, and once again she didn't disappoint. Recommended.

I would prefer not to have to leave bad reviews because I find that books, like many things, are subjective. However, because I have made the request to read The Honeymoon, Netgalley would like me to leave a review, so that I may move forward with requests for other books.

I could not finish this book. I found the writing simple, the characters superficial and not true to life. I could not get lost in the story because I was constantly aware that I was reading a story. The premise was good and the conflicts that arose were good ideas as well, but I felt very much like I was reading about made-up people with overly dramatic stilted behavior. The plot flew along without pausing for breath adding to the lack of authenticity. Because I could not a deeper psychological grasp on the protagonist or any of the paper cut out characters, I found that I couldn't bring myself to care about her plight and that I was having to focus very hard to stay interested. I finally gave up.

Have you ever been on a vacation and jokingly said, "I am going to just stay here forever.?" Admittedly, I have. But what if you wanted to go home and your new spouse would not allow you to leave? Unfortunately for newlywed, Chloe, that is exactly what has happened.

Chloe's husband is lying to her and she can't figure out why but she is determined to stay strong and find her way out. It just might not be as easy or as black and white as Chloe thinks.

A huge Thank You to The author, The publisher and Netgalley for providing the e-arc in exchange for a unbiased review of these works

the plot was quite far fetched and while there were plenty of twist and turns i found none of the characters relate-able

I’ll be honest here and say that the stunning cover is what initially drew me to this book! I’m happy to say that the contents did live up to it though. The Honeymoon follows Chloe as she sets off on her honeymoon with her new husband Dan. She finds out at the airport that they’re not going where she thought they were going which makes her anxious but she trusts her husband so off they go! We then find out that Chloe has only known Dan a very short time and perhaps doesn’t know him as well as she thought she did! I loved this as a set up for a novel and was intrigued about Dan from the start. Poor Chloe has no idea what awaits her on this honeymoon and she soon finds herself in a nightmare situation. I was rooting for her to find a way to get through things because I really liked her. Me and my husband pretty much moved in together as soon as we met so I know what it’s like to fall in love and move at lightning speed in a relationship so I was totally with Chloe even when I was anxious about some of the decisions she made. This was a fun, gripping and very fast-paced novel, and I’ll definitely be looking out for Rona Halsall’s other books in the future!

I feel a little bit torn about "The honeymoon". On the one hand I really liked the premise and the plot. On the other one I really disliked the characters, specially Chloe and Dan (but Granny, you're there too!).

We have Chloe, that for the most part of the book has a whiny and childish attitude, making excuses for everything and everyone, blaming herself for something I really can't see how she's to blame and then accepting to be treated like a doormat by her siblings and granny because she thinks she deserves it for what she did. And don't make me get started on how she is with Dan! I couldn't stand how she rationalized everything he did, so submissive. She suspects him of doing lots of terrible things to her but still she asks herself "I do still love him, though, don't I?" and then goes back to him instead of calling the police. Honey, are you blind?? Or just plain stupid?? NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! It came a point I was so fed up with her attitude that I was cheering for the bad guy! Thankfully, towards the end, she finally wakes up (but it takes a murder to happen for her to do it and she even rationalizes that...."hey, it was quick, didn't suffer, so it couln't be so bad"

And then we have Dan, with this macho attitude of "I'm here to protect you", "everything I do is for your own safety", blah, blah, blah... If you really wanna protect me TALK TO ME and don't hide things for 2/3 of the book!. He puts her in danger knowingly and when she almost dies because something he did, he tells her it's HER fault for not listening to him. Really?? (massive eye roll).

But not only both main characters have cuestionable behaviors. Can Granny be more selfish?? Her grandchild's life is in tatters supposedly because of her husband and her "advice" to her is "I don't want you here, go back to him". I think the only character that shows a bit of common sense in the book is granny's caregiver.

The mystery resolution was so out of the blue that I couldn't care less when it happened. And the villain's motive was a bit far fetched in my opinion. In spite of this, the book managed to hold my interest throughout, being fast paced and quick to read, and with a final twist that almost redeems Chloe.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookoture for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I read a LOT of thrillers and this one just couldn't do it for me. I don't know if I could see the twists and turns coming because I do read a lot of thrillers or if it was just predictable but the ending did not surprise me like I would expect from a thriller.

If you don't read a lot of thrillers, this would still be a decent thriller for you but for me, it was just too predictable.

Chloe is working as a physiotherapist when she meets Dan. After a whirlwind romance, they are married and on their way to a honeymoon of a lifetime in the Maldives. Except it's not the Maldives they are heading towards and Dan isn't anything like the man Chloe thought she had married! Will Chloe regret marrying just two months after meeting the handsome and charming Dan?
I was immediately drawn into this book, the cover and description really interested me and I loved the twists which kept me on my toes. I did find Chloe's naivety frustrating but liked the easy writing style. This is a great holiday read but maybe not for a honeymoon!

Very silly...very far fetched and unrealistic....but an easy read ! One to read by a pool where you don’t need to think too much!!!

Unfortunately, this thriller doesn't live up to the twists and turns we've come to expect in this genre. The plot is thin and the characters lack depth, and I found it hard to like or relate to any of them or their decisions.

This was a fast paced domestic thriller with a quickie marriage and an unexpected honeymoon. Chloe is happy with Dan... until that aforementioned honeymoon where she questions everything.

Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Now here is an author I love to read so when The Honeymoon by Rona Halsall came out I have to find a quiet place in my garden and open my kindle. WoW............Rona does not disappoint! her two previous two books Love you Gone and Keep you safe were brilliant reads I was excited to get my hands on a copy. I was not wrong with this book It was another brilliant read.

Chloe had the dream wedding. a wedding she has always dreamt of and wanted...........With her perfect man Dan waiting for her at the end of the aisle. They haven’t known each other for long, but as she she knew as she looked at him she knew it would be forever.

But was it?

Later, as they relax on a beautiful island, settling in to their new married life together, they congratulate themselves on their lovely wedding day, and Dan jokes that he’d like them to stay there forever.

But, was he joking?

I highly recommend this book and all of Rona's books. They are great for your holidays as well.

Big Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

The plot is far fetched and quite unbelievable at points, however despite that, I really enjoyed it. It’s an easy and absorbing read and I will definitely read more from this author in future.

This was a fast-paced addictive read that left my head spinning! Girl meets boy. Girl goes out with boy. Girl falls in love with boy. Girl marries boy after only knowing him for two months. And what follows is the honeymoon from hell! Chloe and Dan Mary after a two month whirlwind romance. What transpires is Chloe on an island with a man she doesn’t even know. Her sweet loving fiancé has turned into a controlling husband, and he claims it is for her own safety. But what is true and what is a lie? Chloe knows way too much about secrets because she has one of her own.

If your child ever comes home wanting to marry somebody after only knowing them for a short time hand them this book, they will probably change their mind. Dan what a weirdo! I had no idea what his agenda was, what he was up to, if he was telling the truth or telling lies, but something about him just gave me the heebie-jeebies. Chloe I felt so bad for her. She was caring around so much guilt and that really made her so vulnerable, so right for the picking. For the majority of this book I had no idea what direction it was going in. Every time it zigged or zagged I was surprised. I and just when I thought everything was all good... Think again!

A wonderful quick absorbing story, perfect for those lazy afternoons by the pool. A wild tale full of crazy characters that will completely intrigue you!
