A wonderful fast-paced read, a story absorbing book about a girl who falls fast in love with the boy. This book is perfect for a lazy afternoon, sitting by the pool, or a rainy day inside.
All I have to say is if your son or daughter come to you, saying they want to marry someone after a short period of time of knowing them. They truly need to be handed this book. The characters were very intriguing and very crazy.
Chole was caring around so much guilt and it made her vulnerable, and such a great sucker. Every time this book showed a twist, and zig zagged back and forth, you were struck with yet another event that you had no clue was about to happen

Chloe falls head over heels for Dan after a chance meeting at her work when his mum is one of her patients and it seems he feels exactly the same. They rush into marriage without really knowing each other… nothing can go wrong…or can it…

Things start to go wrong on honeymoon and Chloe wonders if she’s rushed in too quickly. Dan isn’t who he seemed to be and has lots of secrets even though she’s also got one of her own. He’s also moody and controlling and it’s not the honeymoon she always dreamed of.

There are lots of twists and turns and the storylines kept me interested. There is an element to the story which I found slightly far fetched but all in all it’s an enjoyable read. I liked how Chloe fought back and stood on her own two feet. Would recommend.

I can’t find much positive to say about this book as the character of both Chloe and Dan were weak and changed to keep the plot moving which I didn’t like.
I have read a number of very varied reviews of The Honeymoon which just goes to show that there are lots of people out there who will read the book and love it so if the blurb interests you.. go for it.

2.5 Stars. Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the free review copy! This book was a bit exhausting for me. I felt that Chloe was a rather pathetic character. I found the plot very frustrating and convoluted. I was also disappointed that there was no major plot twists and the ending was quite predictable. I also found myself questioning the arc of the relationship between Chloe and her grandmother/brother & sister and how that was relevant. It all seemed a bit too outlandish to me.

Wow, this book started off with a bang. The characters were great. It was fast, which is just how I like it. I like to keep wanting to know more. It grabbed me from the first page. Secrets, twists, lies, your essentials for a good thriller. I loved Ronas writing style, I have to admit I also love a book with an awesome cover!!!

When Chloe met Dan, she just knew all her dreams were finally coming true. She has had a rough time in her past with her mother's death and dealing with other family members - but Dan and their whirlwind romance is helping ease years of guilt and hurt.
After their small wedding ceremony, Dan whisks Chloe away on a dream honeymoon - at least that's what she thinks. She always wanted to go to the Maldives but finds out on the plane that they are instead headed to Spain. While she feels a bit unsettled, Chloe knows no matter where they end up they will have a great time. But in Spain, Chloe sees a new side of Dan. - an aggressive, angry side. It becomes apparent to Chloe that she had no idea who she was marrying - her dream marriage is becoming her nightmare.
I liked this book - it was standard thriller fare, nothing really stood out, but it was a quick, enjoyable read.
Thanks to Rona Halsall, Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC of this book.

Der Schreibstil hat mir sehr gefallen, aus dem Grund habe ich es auch bis zum Ende gelesen. Der Rest ist wirklich nur naja - die Charaktere, die Handlung, die Entwicklungen der Geschichte...

Great holiday read, a real page turner. As you learn more about Chloe's history you understand why she married Dan after only a few months of knowing him, I think she was desperate to be loved. Clever plot with a satisfying ending. Highly recommend.

My goodness, this book is seriously addictive stuff. Don’t read this if you’re short of time, as you really won’t be able to put it down!

I was so surprised that Chloe could marry someone who she’d known for such a short time, and as soon as they got to the airport for their honeymoon, I felt that he couldn’t be trusted.

But this book will keep you guessing all the time, there’s so many twists and turns, and it’s so tense.

The pace is fast, with such a build up of tension the whole way through. This is a book to set aside some time for, it will keep you totally gripped. One of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read in a while.

Thanks Netgalley and publisher for this eARC.

when I started the book I wasn’t sure, the main character, Chloe, was a bit boring. She meets Dan and marries him two months later. Then it’s like she’s lost her life, he makes all the decisions from the wedding to the honeymoon and he hasn’t booked what he told her. Chloe's family don’t like her but she looks after her grandma her. This book is not what I expected and although I got bored at times and persevered in the end I enjoyed it. I would recommend for a holiday read.

Chloe has a whirlwind romance with a man and marries him. She's looking forward to a honeymoon in her dream location, but discovers that her new husband has instead booked a house on a remote island in Spain. It is there that she begins to realize that she doesn't really know the man she married.
This was a real page-turner, though I found myself questioning why Chloe did some of the things she did that get her into this mess. It almost seemed unbelievable, but I know that these things do happen. Would make an interesting movie!

The Honeymoon is a dark and indulgent mystery set on the idyllic island of Menorca. Immediately drawn in by its seductive opening chapters, I found this slow burning claustrophobic story hard to tear myself away from. Straight away the reader is sucked into a whirlpool of tension and suspense as we meet Chloe, newlywed and about to embark on the honeymoon of her dreams, after a whirlwind romance with Dan. Almost straight away the reader is alerted to the fact that all might be as it seems, when the couple go to board the plane and Chloe realises she is not going on honeymoon to the Maldives as she thought, but to the less extravagant Spanish isle Menorca. Dan is evasive as to why he lied, and alarm bells are already beginning to ring for Chloe, however despite her instincts she boards the plane and instead of jetting off to the holiday of her dreams, lands in the holiday of her nightmares.

The story is written well, split between the present, with alternate flashback chapters scaling back a couple of months to when Chloe first met Dan and how their relationship suddenly engulfed them and quickly became all consuming. The paradoxical sense of menace in such a picturesque setting left me feeling anxious and uncomfortable. The author lulls the reader into a false sense of security, setting such a beautiful relaxing scene to sink into, only to slowly tighten the strain and increase feeling of unease, until you are left with nothing but a cold sweat and knots in your stomach. I found the contrasting passages a highly effective technique to seriously crank up the tension. If I had a knife, I could have cut through it.

The plot is twisty and unpredictable. I was never really sure where it was going, whether to trust Dan or not, and I did become slightly obsessed myself with trying to work out what had happened to him. Were his motives genuine, or was he a complete sociopath?

The Honeymoon is a well written chilling and tense story. I was enchanted by the picturesque setting but couldn’t shake the feeling of agitation as I teetered on a knife-edge eagerly awaiting the ending. There is a final twist at the end and I was pleased the author chose to finish the book in that way.

This story follows Chloe and Dan, newlyweds who married after 2 months of knowing each other. They are embarking on their honeymoon when the story opens and the reader quickly realizes that Chloe definitely doesn't know everything about Dan.

The author is great at building suspense and curiosity for the reader. I found myself making excuses to keep reading because I needed to discover what was truly going on.

The setting is great for a summer read, very atmospheric but slightly sinister at times.

I found the ending to be a bit disappointing but I enjoyed the journey. I would definitely recommend this one to lovers of thrillers and fast paced suspenseful reads.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley to read an review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Disclaimer: I received this book from Netgally for review purposes.

I had a hard time liking this book just because of the sheer stupidity of the characters. I'm talking almost unrealistically dumb. And when it started, I liked Chloe! I felt her to be relatable! I'd been in bad relationships and I'd been gaslighted but I'd hoped beyond hope I was in the wrong and I was the idiot, but this entire book she goes in a circle over if she should trust her husband or not.

No spoilers, but girl, wether or not your husband is up to something - this guy is a giant red flag regardless. He's controlling and dismissive and gaslights you the entire time. I don't care how good looking he is, that's a big N.O. I don't need my partner to be acting strangely or mysteriously for me to call bullshit on that behavior alone.

It was easy to read and flip through thankfully but the mystery didn't do it for me (a little dull) and again, the whole book is a endless circle of should I or shouldn't I in regards to her trusting her husband. THE WHOLEEE book. Like one page she'll be like "I gotta get out of here! He's bad news!" And then the next page will be her stating that he's her soulmate as they have sex. Page after page!! Super repitive. 🤦

It was okay. Just not for me.

I’ve never wanted a book to end sooner but this book just dragged on. First of all, there were numerous times I wanted to slap both of the leads. They aggravated and infuriated me to no end. I was happy when the book was finally over. But in my opinion like the rest of the book the ending was horrible.

Chloe is a young physical therapist living in Bristol. In the past, Chloe has not had the best luck with men. Then, along comes Dan. He is tall, handsome, sensitive and considerate. Chloe is feeling happy and thrilled to have Dan in her life.

After a few months of dating , Dan asks Chloe to marry him. Chloe decides to throw caution to the wind and go for it! Now it may sound like Chloe's happy ever after is off to a great start, but could anything be further from the truth? As soon as they arrive at the airport to fly off to Chloes's dream honeymoon in the Maldives, things begin to go wrong…

The Honeymoon was a fun thriller read. And I did find myself, turning the pages faster and faster, anxious to see what would happen next!

I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. The main character, Chloe, was so annoying. She meets Dan and marries him two months later. It's like he makes all the decisions from the wedding to the honeymoon which she doesn't realize that he changed the destination until the airport. Chloe's family hates her but she is so determined to get back to her grandma to take care of her who happens to be so rude to Chloe. Chloe is just too much like "why isn't he looking at me like that" or "why is he doing this or that"? This book was not at all what I expected from the description of it.

I haven't read any of Rona Halsall's work before but would certainly be happy to read more

This was a quick and compelling read

There's are reason for not jumping feet first into a relationship or marriage - so this is a cautionary tale !!

I really enjoyed this - the set up was a little different for me - thrillers are not my usual genre - loved the overall theme of the book. The characters are well written and I found myself not wanting to put the book down - very readable

5* for me !!
