While I was expecting more of a thriller, The Honeymoon was indeed a great mystery and a great read.

Chloe and Dan meet and marry very quickly. Each goes into the marriage with secrets that they are unwilling to share with the other.
When Dan secretly changes the destination of the honeymoon, Chloe starts to see that perhaps she really doesn't know Dan at all. As their week together comes to an end, Dan starts insisting that they stay permanently, and Chloe finds that he has forbidden her to go home.
Things go from bad to worse, and with each chapter brings a new and unexpected twist and turn to this book. I was kept guessing throughout. the story, right up to the very end.

Thank you to Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book. My review was written independently and of my own opinion.

Thank you NetGalley for the digital ARC of The Honeymoon by Rona Halsall. This book gripped me from the start and kept my interest throughout. Chloe's honeymoon with husband Dan did not go as planned. Did she really know this man she married? A great read you won't want to put down.

A cautionary tale for those who jump into marriage. How do you know if your husband is lying when you don't even really know him at all? A fast and fun read and one of those books that make you realize being single isn't so bad after all.

Not a stunning thriller, but a fun and fast read. Chloe and Dan marry within weeks of meeting each other. From the beginning, Chloe feels she has made a mistake. Tense relationships with her grandmother and siblings cause Chloe to stay with Dan, even though her instincts tell her otherwise. This is an easy beach read. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to be an early reader in exchange for my review.

I just loved this book from beginning to end. The plot had me on the edge of my seat more than once. It was fast paced and enjoyable. Never knowing where the author was going. Very good

While I found the premise of the novel a little hard to believe (I did struggle to sympathise with the protagonist as she gradually started to wonder whether she'd made a mistake in marrying a virtual stranger!), I went with it and finished the book in one sitting. The 'reveal' of why her new husband is so desperate to keep her from returning home disappointed me a little, especially as his own behaviour and characterisation had been less than consistent throughout, and I would have liked a more exciting payoff. The main character frustrated me at times, too - her instincts for self-preservation only seemed to kick in at the wrong times! This would make a perfect beach read - though perhaps not if you're on honeymoon!

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to read all 3 of Rona's books now and thoroughly enjoyed them all. I have a hard time putting them down. The story is fast paced and the characters are interesting, so much so that I finished her current one in a day. She keeps her readers entertained with plot twists and before you know it, the book is over! Can't wait for the next one.

This story was great. It starts out with Chloe and Dan's honeymoon and enjoying life. Things take a turn for the worse however when Chloe learns that her new husband not only has changed the destination of their honeymoon without talking to her even after knowing how much she wanted to go to the first destination. As well as that betrayal Chloe learns that has also has no intention of ever returning to their home country and wants both of them to stay in Menorca forever. Then it talks about how they met and their relationship leading
up until that point. I really liked the back and forth on what their relationship was like before and the drastic changes that is has made during their current situation. It helps you see the large change that has taken over Dan. One of the things that I liked about this book was our main character Chloe is a strong woman who is in love so when she doesn't stand up for herself when this occurrence takes places and it is something that does happen to real women in real situations its not just the weak. I really enjoyed this story line it makes for a very compelling read. Great job and I hope that everyone checks this book out when it goes on sale you won't be disappointing, there are so many twists and turns right when you think you know what is going on the author throws another twist at you to prove how wrong you are. Wow the ending was amazing I never saw it coming
and it hit you like a ton of bricks. I wish could read this story again for the first time just to get that huge shock. Great read I loved it and everyone should check out this book!

Chloe had it all, or so she thought.. Her husband was seemingly devoted and madly in love with her and they were about to embark on their honeymoon to a once in a lifetime destination, except in Dans mind, it wasn’t a once in a lifetime destination at all.

All I can say it wow. ‘The Honeymoon’ is packed with twists, secrets and lies that will have you racing through the pages to find out what happens next! Another fantastic novel by Rona Halsall!

When we first meet Chloe. Life couldn’t be better. She has met the man of her dreams and is setting off on her honeymoon to a fabulous destination. It isn’t long though before alarm bells started going off in my head, or in Chloe’s for that matter!

I really don’t want to say to much about the story as think it would spoil others enjoyment to do so. Dan is a character though who I just couldn’t work out. On the outside he seems a really caring and lovely guy who wants the best for Chloe, but like her, I was starting to have some serious doubts.

The story takes some unexpected turns as the tension mounts. I was guessing at all sorts as to why Dan is being the way he is. This is a story that really goes to show about how much you really know about the one you love.

The Honeymoon is an enthralling read packed full of secrets and lies. It’s one of those books that draws you straight in from picking it up and making it very hard to put back down again. Will certainly keep you on your toes and have you on the edge of you seat when things start to unravel. Another great read by the author.

My thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

Chloe falls head over heals for Dan and they get married within 2 months of meeting. On their honeymoon she discovers that Dan has no intention of them returning to their normal lives and plans to stay there indefinitely.

She ignores several red flags and excuses Dans controlling tendencies as “taking care of her.” I enjoyed the pace of the book but it was all a little too far fetched. I kept asking myself why she hadn’t followed through on how she was feeling once. There are several arguments that are quickly thwarted by a long stare or kiss.

The ending was definitely unexpected, a twist that shatters all she’s forced herself to believe. Overall, I enjoyed the book. I appreciated the ending redeeming Chloe’s lack of backbone throughout the rest of the story!

This Author has talent. I have now read (and loved) all of her books. This one, I think, gives a lesson to people who get married without knowing their better half very well. Chloe and Dan both hide a big secret from each other and their world comes crashing down. Lots of things happened that I did not foresee. I will tell you, the ending shocked me. Can't wait to see what this Author writes next. Deserves more stars than 5. Thanks to NetGalley, Bookoutre and the Author for the privilege of reading this book.

As soon as I saw the cover of this book, I knew I wanted to get my hands on it. And that tagline - marry in haste, repent at leisure. Isn't it just brilliant?

The story was just as gripping as I'd hoped it would be. Rona Halsall has the knack of being able to draw you in slowly, getting you hooked on her characters and their secrets, while drip feeding you twists until you don't know which way is up. When Chloe marries Dan after being together for only 2 months, well, it was never going to end well, was it? But what is he really hiding? And can she trust him with her life?

Truly thrilling and utterly engaging, The Honeymoon is one of those brilliant beach reads that I'm sure will fly off the shelves.
