I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This was an enjoyable addition to the Last Stand books. It is nice to have some background on the family that owns the BBQ restaurant that was mentioned in some of the other books I’ve read. I always enjoy books with a plot that includes a family member inheriting a home they have visited in the past with some fond memories.

The book is the story of Valerie who inherited her grandmother’s house in Last Stand. Valerie has a job and apartment in San Antonio and plans to get the house fixed up and sell it so she can return to San Antonio. She meets Hutch or Bubba Hutchinson, whose family owns the BBQ restaurant, The Hut, when he is trimming the tree next door to her and it falls across her driveway. It damages her roses and cracks the stones. He invites her to his restaurant and makes plans to fix the flowers and driveway. He learns she is a vegetarian, which throws a meat lover like himself. His family is struggling a little with sales and there are issues with the brothers over adding new dishes and remodeling to stay afloat. He likes her but she has plans to leave as soon as she finishes fixing up the house and sells it. There are some surprises for all as the plots unfold about the restaurant, the relationship between Bubba and Valerie and Valerie’s plans. It is a fun read.

A sweet southern Texas bbq Romance at its finest. It’s super sweet and full of food and all the best things!! Except Texas. Because that place sucks.

Val and Hutch's story was a quick and sweet read. She is a city girl who comes to Last Stand for the first time in years to ready for sale her late Grandmother's house. He is a hometown boy through and through. Hutch owns and runs a BBQ place, the Hut, with his brother Cole. It has been in the family for generations and he does jobs around town helping folks out. Val and Hutch connect through him helping her out with some yard work in a neighborly way and soon sparks fly. She thinks she going to get in and out of Last Stand in a week but in the end, Hutch and the appeal of Last Stand keep her there.

Ms Wick is a new to me author, her first book in the The Texas BBQ Brothers series was a fine introduction of just what am amazing writer she is. I was immediately drawn into the story, identifying with the characters, and creating a solid emotional reaction to their individual stories. This is truly a feel good story, kept from being too touchy/feely with the delved into the emotional psyche of Hutch and Valerie. All in all, this is one story it’s easy to loose yourself in.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

On The Market is a sweet, clean and lighthearted romance that showcases the importance of community and the meaning of home. The story follows Valerie, a woman from the city who has just inherited her grandmother’s house, and Hutch, the owner of a BBQ place in a small town in Texas. When they first meet, Valerie is annoyed by Hutch and is focused on selling the house as quickly as possible. But somewhere along the way, Valerie starts to see the charm of the small town, and Hutch’s charms as well. The unlikely couple grow closer while working on Valerie’s house, and Valerie must decide what’s most important in life - money and big city life, or connections and the sense of home that a close knit community brings.

Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was charmed by this sweet book, and found the clean romance to be a refreshing change of pace. Though the relationship was at the forefront of the book, the setting was also a main character and it was touching to read about small town life. Overall, On The Market is a quick, sweet and endearing book.

On The Market is the first book I have read from Audrey Wick and it will not be the last. I loved her writing style! This story is about Valerie, a vegetarian who works as an organic food buyer, and Hutch, a third-generation BBQ restaurant owner. They meet very unconventionally and Valerie is not a Hutch fan at first. Eventually their relationship blossoms thanks to Hutch being nothing but himself. The problem is Valerie is only in Last Stand for two weeks - just long enough to renovate and sell her grandmother's house. Will Hutch be able to show her that Last Stand (and himself) are enough for city girl Valerie?

I thought this story was great. It was a quick read and very lighthearted. I loved Hutch and Valerie was also likable. This was a wonderful first book in the Texas BBQ Brothers series. I can't wait to read Cole's story next.

Valerie and Hutch met in an unusual way. He cut her neighbor’s tree down, and it landed on her driveway - almost hitting her car. She doesn’t much care for him at first, but he worms his way into her good graces just by being himself- kind, caring, and funny! As Hutch helps Valerie fix up her late grandmother’s home for sale, she learns to appreciate the people and things that come with small-town living.

I’m not familiar with this author’s work, but On the Market is a sweet and charming tale that has me looking forward to the next book in the BBQ Brother’s series.

The story of Valerie and Hutch.

She is a vegetarian, in town long enough to do up and sell the house left to her by her grandmother. He runs a meat BBQ restaurant and has no plans to leave the town he grew up in.

They spend more and more time together, but will she give him and the town a chance for the long term?

An enjoyable read, and I'm looking forward to the reast of the series!
