ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own & have not been influenced in any way.

There is so much I loved about this book - especially with it’s plot twists based on reality TV shows ( Amazing Race & Married at First Sight )

Luke Cross & Penelope “Nell “ ( Penny ) Carpenter both via for a spot on the soon to be hit reality TV show Million Dollar Marriage.
They are both chosen as contestants & paired together with a chance to each win a million dollars. Luke is hoping to win to pay off the debt he has gotten himself into after having taken over his grandparents bar & Nell wants to win to pay off her student loan debt.
The only catch is that they have to agree to be married at first sight in order to proceed to race for the million dollars.

There is an amazing chemistry between these two but they could not be more different .... easy going good looking - hardworking Luke does not take himself or others to seriously - Nell on the other hand is an anal over thinker & achiever “failure” has not been an option in her upper class upbringing.

In typical Katy Evans fashion you are in love with these characters. I especially love that Luke teaches Nell not to be so hard on herself - lighten up & have some fun. These two find themselves working so well together & have a really great shot at winning the entire competition.

Awesome HEA but you will need to read Million Dollar Marriage to learn the actual outcome.

Highly Entertaining - great plot !! Absolutely loved this book & would highly recommend it as well as anything Katy Evans has written - really love her work !!

Million Dollar Marriage - Katy Evans
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Million Dollar marriage is the second book in this series by Katy Evans and a gem of a read it is.

Nell and Luke are desperate to clear some of their personal debts but the best opportunity to do so, comes in the form of a reality TV show, shrouded in secrecy.

With just enough heat and a heaping, helping of wit and sass, these characters are easy to read and easy to like.

A totally fun, lighthearted and sexy story, based around the ever popular reality TV world. Good fun!

Luke and Nell are strangers who meet on a reality tv show. As fate would have it they both go on this show to pay off their debt. Penny has an abundance of student loans and Luke is in debt with his bar. These two could not be more different. Would you get married for money on a reality show? You will enjoy the easy and fun way this story reads. Katy Evans book are always amazing.

Sweet predictable read. A light hop through a reality game show that shows that it isn’t as real as they make it and how the producers can do what they want. Total opposites attract story. It got old on how they both thought they weren’t good enough for the other. Penny really upset me when she knew better about what happened and still reacted dumbly. I like the premise but just could not love it totally.

Even though Nell has a mountain of student debt, she is reluctant to go on a reality tv show to win a million dollars. The bar that Luke inherited from his grandfather is dying a slow death and taking his hopes with it. So when he has a chance to win a million dollars on a reality tv show, he jumps at the chance. But neither Nell or Luke realize that they will have to marry each other at the beginning of the show.

This is a sweet romance with a cute storyline ... a little bit Bachelor and a lot the Amazing Race. Luke ... who wouldn’t fall in love with a hunk who has a heart and is a gentleman? Then there’s Nell ... I just loved her. She was so quirky and had no clue that she was sexy underneath it all. I really laughed at some of the challenges they had to do. A great addition to the series.

I received an early copy courtesy of Montlake Romance through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

Katy Evans is one of my fave authors, each book I read from her I devour it. MILLION DOLLAR MARRIAGE was not an exception, this opposites attract romance story was an amazing adventure with two people who needed money desperately because of their bad financial situation. They were ready to do whatever it takes to get the money even if they have to join a reality tv show in order to win a million dollars.

Luke Cross is the sexy owner of a bar with a bad boy look and attitude. He dropped out of high school at sixteen. Penelope Carpenter has a major in literature but since she lacks interpersonal skills, she continues studying at the university (her safe place) and keeps building up her students financial debt. They were opposites, the only thing they have in common was their financial situation, so the tv show paired them and now they have to get married, compete, win in order to receive the prize. So now they will have to work together in order to get to the finals and to the big prize.

Will Luke and Penny get to the finals?? Will they remain married? Will they win the million dollars? You will have to read the book to find that out!!!

If you are an adventure, love reality shows, and want to enjoy Katy Evans amazing writing, this book is for you!!!

In an era where reality tv is such a controversial, phenomenon this book is well, on trend for want of a better word.

Penelope and Luke, complete opposites, as night and day as two people can be, like chalk and cheese, antithetical, those are few ways you could describe the pair however there’s a common denominator they do share.... Debt, and it’s their debts that have working together as part of a team participating in a fun filled, steamy adventure which plays out on tv for all the world and it’s neighbours see. What started off as a business arrangement type situation soon morphs into something more, something real when these two collide proving once again that opposites do indeed attract in this lighthearted, fun filled adventure of falling in love.

A perfect addition to Ms Evans Million Dollar series.

This was such a good read. Really entertaining and funny. Luke and Nell are both broke and in need of some serious money. With both wanting to clear their debt, they are willing to do almost anything even if that means going on reality tv.

The book was a sweet, fun read. The storyline is unique with great writing. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone needing a fun read.

Nell is in a huge amount of student loan debt and she has no way of paying back. She thought it would be a quick solution to audition and say I do to a complete stranger on reality TV. It should be ok, right? A quick business transaction that’s all. Luke is in somewhat of a sticky situation too. He needs money and fast. The show is a great way to get that money he desperately needed. Luke and Nell couldn’t be more polar opposite. They can’t stand each other but oh the chemistry doesn’t lie. I like the plot idea. Fun, sweet, feel-good romance.

Book was different. It was like a real life Bachelor. I found it interesting and it kept my attention but I didn't find it to be a blowout read. It was a book that I saw the ending coming before it took place which is always a huge disappointment. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a fun light read.

This story is AMAZING! I felt captivated into it from the very first page.
Million Dollar Marriage is A story where two Total opposites are put together and have to say "I do" to participate in the contest. Sounds crazy? Yes, it is but Ms. Evans did a great job with this one creating those differences and slowly blooming emotions And relationship. It was a push and pull from both sides which made it really good and intriguing as both sides we're getting to know each other as well as discovering themselves while participating in the race.
Nell and Luke were both true in themselves which made reading and growing for them so much easier. I devoured that book!
Who can survive a race with a spouse that you just met and create a bond in it? No one is safe here. Remember it's a tv production so expect twists and turns of any kind.

What happens when 2 people are picked for a reality show called "Million Dollar Marriage"? This is the question that both Luke and Penelope/Nelle has about being selected and having no idea what the show is really about. All each of them know is that when they are still in the game at certain points of the show, their winnings increase. Both Luke and Penelope need the money to pay off their debts. Luke is a bar owner who has been through a lot during his life especially during his teen and early 20s. Penelope comes from a well to do family but she was cut off from them and the money since she wasn't willing to go to the college and major in what her father wanted her to do. So she ends up going to the college of her choice and continues pursuing higher education since she didn't want to face the real world. But now that she is graduating with a PhD, she realizes that she must be a grown up and find a way to pay off her student loans.

When Luke and Penelope are "matched" together to be partners during the show, Penelope isn't sure they are a good fit since they are total opposites. Luke convinces Penelope to give it a shot since they both are there for the money. The show, as all the contestants come to find out, is similar to "The Amazing Race" but with some interesting twist. As you can imagine, Luke and Penelope are struggling with each other and the tasks that they have to do. Fights, facing fears, and hilarity ensues reading about this couple and the other contestants going through all the different challenges.

In the end, Luke and Penelope must decide if opposites do attract and if the feelings for each other is not a result of the closeness but are true feelings that they have for each other. Each must overcome their own insecurities about themselves, especially when the show really plays on them, and face their true feelings for each other.

This was a fun read with the reality show and the twist to it and the final outcome. I rooted for Luke and Penelope and wanted to cheer when another contestant couple were the "leaders" during most of the tasks because they were just no likable at all. It was fun to see who won the show and then having to wait because there was a twist to the whole show!

Uuuh, such a smexy, adorable, fun read! And it’s about traveling! Talk about a perfect story for this bookworm! That and the adventurousness plus Luke really was what made the story for me – even if it was a little predictable.

I hate reality TV – let’s face it: it’s scripted, after all – but I loved how it played into their story. And all their pitstops along the way … let’s just say – my feet itch to be on the road yet again. Le sigh.

So … Luke. Such a wonderful and sexy man. He’s gorgeous. Plain and simple. Nell on the other hand … boy, that girl frustrated me to no end at times! As smart as she is, she really has some major issues. That changed a bit towards the end – though I am still not much of a fan of hers.

I enjoyed this one a lot more than I did the first book in this series – both standalones which can be ready separately by the way – and am looking forward to more.

This way such a fun journey through America – with hilarious moments, sexy moments, annoying moments, fighting moments and emotional moments – a great light read to brighten your day.

The writing in this book is crazy good, smooth, witty, fun and romantic. I love Luke, so determined and so willing to push Nell out of her comfort zone, which is so much needed. Nell is a favorite too because she decided to take on life in the public but is such an introvert. This is a very good storyline.

Another adorable and spicy read by Katy Evans!
Million Dollar Marriage follows Nell, a mid-twenty something bookworm as she tries out for a gameshow to reduce her school debt, and Luke Cross, the sexy and playful bar owner trying to save his families bar. These two had sparks flying, and not in a good way at first, but when they are forced to work together to win money, who knows what these opposites will find. I loved the banter, enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and Ms. Evans knows how to write them! The chemistry is fun, the characters likeable, and I was smiling throughout the book. Don't miss this standalone!

The teaser for “Million Dollar Marriage” says “a hot romance about two strangers and their race to fall in love.” If you’re thinking of the reality show “Amazing Race” with a touch of “The Bachelor” or “The Bachelorette” then you are correct.

With her fingers on the pulse of Americans’ (or is it the whole world?) fascination with reality shows like Survivor and Amazing Race, author Katy Evans imagined “Million Dollar Marriage,” a reality show wherein the contestants have to be married to “race” for the grand prize of $1 million.

It seemed simple enough; but it was not! The contestants were strangers and they were paired by a so so algorithm. The clincher, these total strangers have to get married at the beginning of the show and win the million dollars if they remained married till the end.

Whew! That’s a lot to take in. But, have no fear. Katy Evans can tell a good yarn and she totally nailed this one. It was a romantic comedy with a bit of drama. Front runners Nell Carpenter and Luke Cross were so wrong for each other that you actually question how the author could bring them to a happily ever after.

Just remember, we are in the era where reality stars become celebrities. Nielsen ratings and social media could do that. And in this imaginary world of “Million Dollar Marriage,” Katy Evans used that arsenal to make Nell and Luke three-dimensional.

In short, if “Million Dollar Marriage” was a true reality show, the Brainiac (Penelope “Nell” Carpenter, with a PhD to her name) and the High School Dropout (Luke Cross, bar owner and bartender) could be an audience’s favorite.

I will not describe the challenges that Nell, Luke and the other contestants went through because it would be a spoiler. Let me just say that Katy Evans have a wicked imagination, that is, she’s wicked enough to actually dream things up for Survivor if given a chance.

That said, the romance between Nell and Luke was also steamy enough to get you hot and bothered! Is Luke Cross swoon-worthy? If you’re into reformed bad boys, then, yes, he is!

A fun read that will actually crack you up in more ways than one. The interactions between the hero and heroine plus the supporting characters feel so real, they actually be people you know!

“Million Dollar Marriage” is Rated T for Teens. Parental guidance is strongly advised due to the challenges in the in-book game and some sex scenes.
