I don't watch reality TV but these two could convince me! Million Dollar Marriage is the perfect feel good, smiling because you can't stop romance. Everything is hard. As complete opposites, Luke and Nell are definitely not the favored team. These two couldn't be more different. But what none seems to notice is the fighting...not the fighting that everyone sees. No, I'm talking about fighting their attraction.

Million Dollar Marriage is sexy and sweet in all the right ways.

Million Dollar Marriage by Katy Evans is book Two in the Million Dollar Series. This is the story of Luke and Nell. I have read the previous book but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Luke is trying to save his bar and to do so needs money of course. Nell has been a dedicated student working toward finishing school. But now with goal in site she learns of her large student bills she has...so she needs money too. This leads her to a reality show. Luke ends up taking the same route that leads them to meet each other and to be paired up. But can these two opposite people find that maybe they aren't so different.
Enjoyed their story.

Million Dollar Marriage by Katy Evans is book two in her Million Dollar series , a series of standalones. The previous book is Million Dollar Devil.
Penelope Carpenter - Nell - is a woman who is in debt and needs money. Her conclusion? Go on a tv show and marry a starnger for money, a lot of.
Luke wants the money too and that Nell isn't bad to look at makes the deal sweeter. But they seem to have nothing in common, except wanting the prize. Reel turns into real pretty quick.
Million Dollar Marriage is a witty and fun summer read, excellent written and with a couple that kept me on the edge of my seat.
4,5 Stars.

This is book two in a series, but can be read as a standalone.

Luke, a high school dropout, bar owner (he thinks it’s a dump) and good friend of YouTube sensation Jimmy (Book one), needs money pronto.

Penelope (Nell or later Penny) has been going to school for years, always extending her degrees instead of finding a job and paying off her student loan. She needs money to pay it off now.

When they both sign up for a reality tv show “Million Dollar Marriage”, they meet while standing in line and they couldn’t be more opposite, but both find the other intriguing...or not.

When both get picked and are paired up, things start to heat up. Fun games, fights, kisses and getting sh*tfaced bring them to the end, but will they win or lose? And will they both get over their personal issues of not being good enough?

This book was a very fun read, I couldn’t put it down. Will definitely read more by this author!

I received this ebook copy from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.

Million Dollar Marriage is book 2 in a series but can be read as a stand alone. This is Luke and Penny's (or Nell's) story. Luke is the bar owner and friend of Jimmy's from the first book in the series.

I felt the story was original and a fun read. It flowed nicely. I loved Luke and Penny. They try to win a reality TV contest and are made partners in the competition. There was definitely tension, suspense, and passion in Million Dollar Marriage.

Overall, a great read. Not sure if there will be more to this series but I would read another by this author.

Such a fun premise to base a romance on a reality TV show. Really enjoyed this one!

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for ARC. All opinions are my own.

I really loved the narrators, I think they did a great job. I sorta liked the amazing race aspect of this trope but reality TV marriages aren't my cup of tea. I also had a hard time connecting with the characters.

My Thoughts:

Million Dollar Marriage was signature Katy Evans! I loved every single moment of it! I am a huge fan of reality television, and my favorite show is The Bachelor. Million Dollar Marriage was The Amazing Race meets The Bachelor! I thought this story had such a fun and entertaining premise, and I felt like I was right beside Luke and Nell on their many challenges and adventures with reality television, falling in love, growing as individuals, and as a couple.

I must admit, at the beginning of the story, I was a little worried about Nell's likability. She came off as overly judgmental, critical, and full of self-importance. However, Nell really grew on me. We realize that she has a low self-esteem and a lot of baggage. Once she starts to address these issues and Luke makes her see her self-worth, she grows so much, and I ended up loving the person that she becomes.

Luke was an amazing character. I loved him as a secondary character in Million Dollar Devil, and was thrilled that he got his own book! He was outgoing, loyal, and the type of guy that helped everyone whenever they needed it. His heart was huge! I could feel how much he loved Nell, and any woman would be lucky to be loved and cherished by a man the way that Luke loved Nell.

This story was so fast-paced. It was filled with fun, romance, adventure, and a breathtaking love story. I kept hoping it wouldn't end, because I wanted it to go on forever! All of you Katy Evans fans, or readers that enjoy reality television, and sexy and romantic love stories with a lot of fun and adventure, need to check out Million Dollar Marriage! It was such a wonderful reading escape!!!

3 reviews - all 4 stars

This is the second book in the Million Dollar Series but can be read as a complete stand-alone but I would recommend the first book Million Dollar Devil too! I really enjoyed this book and would give it a 4 stars! Luke was the perfect Alpha male and Nell was the perfect hard headed heroine, and we all know how she can write some great characters!

A million dollar bet... Marry a guy/woman you have never met... and try not to fall in love because neither Nell nor Luke are looking for a relationship but both have reasons for needing the money. But they have to fake it till the make it to end to survive. Will they be able to put past there differences and split a cool Mil? Or will it all be too much and they call it quits?

Get to one clicking to see what happens you don't wanna miss this one!

Oh how I loved this story. It was so different. The miscommunication, lust, friendship, angst, steam... this book has it all.

Nell is afraid to take a step towards adult hood. She is hiding behind being a perpetual student with degrees she hasn't used and surmounting amount of debt.

Luke owns the bar Tim's and is in debt. This bar was left to him by his grandfather and he really wants to save it.

Nell and Luke are paired on a tv show - Million Dollar Marriage - and compete a la Amazing Race style, but as a married couple. At the beginning of the race they are polar opposites, have nothing in common and argue. But somehow they manage to stay in the game, every round. As the race progresses the more they learn about each other.

So what happens when the race is over? Will they stay married and win the big cash prize? Definitely one click to find out.
------------------------------------
Penelope needs the money.
Her student loans have piled up, and she has no job to pay them. Luke's bar has mortgages that can't be covered. Million Dollar Marriage is looking for contestants for their new show. What could possibly happen?

I liked the concept and the idea of this story. If you can get past Luke's over the top roughness and language, you'll love this story. Definitely one click this.

Million Dollar Marriage is absolutely one of the best books I've read this year. I love pretty much everything that Katy Evans writes so it wasn't much of a surprise that this one was just as easy to love as the rest of her books. I did have my doubts about this one in the beginning, one I thought there was absolutely no way these characters were going to fall for each other because they were too different, but two, it was a reality show type romance and I am in general not a fan of reality shows so I almost stopped reading. I am SO glad that I didn't stop reading because Luke and Penelope stole my heart and I don't want it back. Now I'm wondering how soon is too soon for a re-read.

Holy cracker jacks, I freaking loved this book!! Katy Evans NAILED IT with this exciting new story. What an awesome roller coaster of adventure mixed with a love story that had me hot to trot and swooning over hunky lead man Luke Cross. Million Dollar Marriage is a fantastic read!! I was flipping the pages so fast to keep up with the adventure of a lifetime.

This story combines reality TV sensations Married at First Sight and The Amazing Race for a super fun, heart pulsing, race to the end where the prize is not only a million dollars but perhaps an unexpected soulmate. Dr. Penelope Carpenter and Mr. Luke Cross are coupled up to take a gamble on this brand new reality show. Complete strangers with completely different personalities, they compliment each other perfectly. I loved every page of watching them grow together. Each adventure in the race brought them closer together and I swooned so hard.

This book was so unexpected, I went in blind, but Katy Evans never disappoints. I literally couldn’t keep a smile off my face the whole way through. I’m totally addicted to this story, Luke and Penny made this book EVERYTHING. So fun, charming, exciting and blowing up with dynamite chemistry. Hop on board this race, you’ll love the ride.

Million Dollar Marriage, Luke and Nell both need to make a lot of money in a short amount of time so they try out for a reality show. Despite not really liking each other, they agree to be paired in the contest. The big catch is that they must marry and agree to stay married at the end if they win.

For the most part, I enjoyed the book. I wasn't sold on Nell at first. She was a bit pretentious and looked down at people who didn't seem to be as smart as her. I also had zero sympathy for her financial issue. She was the one who chose to keep going in school for a degree that would not easily result in a job. I felt more for Luke because he had more at stake financially. Let's just say, Nell had to grow on me, as did their relationship. They were so opposite that I had to suspend a little bit of disbelief. However, as the contest went on, I did find myself rooting for them to not only win, but to make it as a couple. This is the perfect book for anyone who loves reality TV shows. I will admit to watching at least one season of The Amazing Race, which this book reminded me of. The challenegs were fun and the contestants cut-throat. I do recommend picking this one up.

Oh my God, Katy Evans! What have you done to me? I loved Million Dollar Marriage! Luke and Nell are such a delight! Complete opposites but you know what they say about opposites. That they attract and the sparks flying off these two  almost ignited my Kindle.

Million Dollar Marriage is a fun, fast-paced, feel good story.

Million Dollar Marriage is Luke and Nell’s book. Luke is the bar owner in Million Dollar Devil. Luke owns a bar that has been in his family for a very long time. The bar isn’t doing so well and Luke could use some money. He signs up to do a reality tv show in hopes of winning a million dollars. While doing the show he is paired with Penelope aka Nell. Nell is a forever college student with tons of debt. She joins the show in hopes of winning to pay off her student loans. They couldn’t be more different, but eventually start working well together. I enjoyed all of their witty banter and the game show aspect of the story. This was a fun and sexy story that I think many people will enjoy.

I enjoyed this journey into reality television as a romance novel. Honestly, I don't like to watch it on TV but I had fun experiencing this world through Nell and Luke's eyes as they took on a crazy challenge to help them each deal with financial issues in their own lives. I don't think either one expected to be picked yet they both rose to the occasion. Nell's journey was more profound as she had to find who she truly is after putting herself in a box to cope with issues within her family and pursuing her passion in literature. She carried a lot of fear and Luke was just the right person to push her out of that comfort zone. Luke is that easy going, likable guy but he's let the business he inherited fall apart. He needs someone to push him and realize he is more than a sexy face. Nell and Luke are definitely opposites and this crazy TV show throws them together where they have to decide to either get along or lose. There are so many amazing moments as each one of them is forced to dig deep to find their true selves. I was pulled in and anxious to know if they could really survive this wild adventure.

Million Dollar Marriage by Katy Evans is the second book in the Million Dollar series and it can be read as a stand-alone. This book was sooooo good! Once I started reading I couldn’t stop. Full of adventure, drama, and a unique plot, Ms. Evans knocked it out of the park with Million Dollar Marriage!

Luke and Nell were two amazing characters that I couldn’t help but fall for the both of them. They were complete opposites of each other, but it really worked well for the story. Both needing money for different things, they sign up for a tv show. But neither of them expect the other…

I loved this story so much! It was everything I’ve come to expect from a Katy Evans novel. The writing was fabulous, and the characters were likeable and relatable. Looking forward to reading more in this series!

I love this book. Penelope “Nell” keeps to herself and has one best friend. Luke is a sexy bartender. They both signup to do a reality tv show. They have to work together. They are so good with one another. Love them together. After both being stubborn and hard headed, they both get what they want...each other. I highly recommend this book

An ok book. Based around marrying a stranger for money, reality tv based.
Nothing special sadly.
Thank you to both NetGalley and Montlake Romance for giving the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest unbiased review

Katy Evans cleverly capitalizes on the world’s obsession with reality TV to create an intense, unique and emotional romance in Million Dollar Marriage.

We have already encountered Luke in Million Dollar Devil as Jimmy BFF. Luke is a true success story having beaten his addiction moving into the world of entrepreneurship running the bar he inherited from his grandfather. Although everything he has worked towards is close to falling apart prompting the necessity of entering a new reality show. However, Luke is a natural people person who tends to bring out the best in those around him, his good looks may also factor into his appeal to the producers (in more ways than one).

Penelope (Nell/Penny), on the other hand, is a total introvert, an academic who has hidden away behind her studies so she doesn’t have to face the real world. Unfortunately, education comes at a steep cost; rather than drown in her debt, Nell steps outside her comfort zone to participate in the reality show alongside Luke.

Both motivated by the prize money, as well as innate competitiveness, are just the initial similarities between Luke and Penny.

It is obvious the producers of the show have gone out of their way to partner couples who are the complete opposite in every way. Rather than cause a rift between Luke and Penny, their differences actually serve to strengthen the developing bond between them. They compliment each other in many ways, working in partnership brings out the best in both of them.

The trials they undertake provide a great deal of self-reflection for Luke and Penny as they get to know each other. While Luke has accepted who he is he still has moments of self-doubt and feelings of inadequacy; while Penny has carefully buried herself in layers of intelligence she has never allowed herself to look beyond the barriers she has enclosed herself in. I adored the way in which Penny blossomed through her time spent with Luke.

Despite, the growing feelings and bond between Luke and Penny, their own self-doubt and the twisted media perception create a crack in the foundation they had begun to build. IS Luke and Penny’s connection strong enough to withstand the real world? You’ll have to read Million Dollar Marriage to find out *cue evil laugh* 😂😉
