These quotes are simple to say and help create a steadiness that is helpful in meditation. I enjoyed following one at a time, while also flipping through when I just needed a good thought.

Before I became more spiritual I never really thought of using affirmations. I just thought it was New Age stuff so I didn’t pay it any attention. The older I became the more my thought processes changed and I now see how powerful affirmations can be. This book is a great guide to help you become in-tuned and attract the things you want. Although you still have to put in some work, but the universe will definitely guide you. Blessings!

I was unable to download this book so sadly unable to review it which is a shame as I was so looking forward to it.

I quite enjoyed this little book. I like that the affirmations are weekly rather than daily, so you really have time to absorb them. The meditation style the affirmations are intended for is pretty doable- each one is two sentences, breathe in, repeating the first sentence, breathe out, repeating the second sentence. I can do this! I appreciated the accessibility of the technique. The illustrations are colorful and fun, each done by a different illustrator. Would make a great gift!

Ani Trime left behind her black leather jacket and motorcycle to become a Buddhist nun. During her nearly four decades, she practiced meditation and found the teachings to be positively transformative and sought to share this wisdom with others. Contained in this little book are 52 affirmations, one to meditate and ponder for each week of the year, accompanied by delightful illustrations. These works of art were created by 14 different artists from all over the world.

Trime believed that we too readily believe our negative thoughts and that we have the power to change our lives with our thinking. She wanted people to understand that they have the power to have a more positive life experience. These 52 affirmations, which Trime refined over the years, are full of inspiration and encouragement. While seemingly simple, they are powerful ideas that will reassure, energize and embolden. I have already ordered this little book overflowing with wisdom. I recommend you do the same and use these affirmations. There is sure to be many that will immediately resonate with you.

Thank you to Storey Publishing and NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

Found this to be very helpful! It was short but sweet and it doesn't pose itself to be anything other than what it promises. The affirmations in this book were impactful and helped ease some of my worries in just few words. I've only just got into meditation but this was the perfect book to get me started.

ANI TRIME'S LITTLE BOOK OF AFFIRMATIONS contains 52 Illustrated Practices for a Peaceful and Open Mind. It measures 3.6 x 4.8 inches so it is indeed "pocket-sized." The thoughts from this Buddhist nun and teacher are very positive, often dealing with letting go and releasing control. The illustrations were created by 39 different commercial artists and will also promote reflection. It is a nice, compact collection that could possibly make a graduation or "off to college" gift, but not one that will be easy to circulate from public or school libraries.

This was a nice, cute book with lovely affirmations that I’ve found quite helpful to have. I recommend this little book to anyone who needs daily reminders about a life that is worth continuing, for sometimes it can seem quite hard.

I had to google Ani Trime when I started reading this book, and was happy to watch a few interviews and TED talks by this lovely Buddhist monk, even though I didn't find her until after her death at 88. The book is composed of 52 very short meditations designed to concentrate in as you breathe in and out. Each meditation is two sentences. You think of the first line on the inhale and the second line on the exhale, again and again. Each one is accompanied by art.

An example meditation:
My mind is the source of all my joy.
My mind is the source of all my sorrow.

It would be useful to watch Trime's short TED talk to really understand her message about how our thoughts create our lives and how to meditate (she points out it's fine if you think during meditation, any human will, just notice it and keep going). She was a big believer in being kind to ourselves, and that comes through in this book. She wrote many of the meditations in preparation for her death and her friends (associates? fellow practitioners?) finished it. Trime encouraged people to meditate for 15 minutes a day for a month and said it would bless their lives. I can see how this book could help that happen. I plan to give it a go.

My rating system:
1 = hated it
2 = it was okay
3 = liked it
4 = really liked it
5 = love it, plan to purchase, and/or would buy it again if it was lost

I read a temporary digital ARC of the book for the purpose of review.

Love it. Love it. Love it. It’s exactly what it purports to be, and the affirmations are so good. I have never had a book of these before, only ever collected them from places like Pinterest and Instagram. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to change their outlook.

I love everything about this small book! The introduction to the life of Ani Trime and how important Buddhism was to her was short but informative. That was followed by instructions on how to best utilize each of these affirmations that were so beneficial to Ani and her followers during her lifetime. After that, the book continues with stunning artwork and an affirmation that is to be used for a week. The book has a total of 52 affirmations, and since they are not dated, I would feel very comfortable skipping around in the book, if I wanted to.

Thank you to Netgalley for an e-ARC of Ani Trime's Little Book of Affirmations in exchange for an honest review. This was short and sweet basically. I enjoyed most of the affirmations and I will definitely use some of them in my everyday life. The art was my favorite part of this book, it was beautiful!

i absolutely needed this, and adored it. i repeated many of them to myself and want to remember their weight forever, for that weight made me feel light for the first time in a long time. i'm currently going through the roughest period of my life i've experienced in awhile, and these words and images helped me immensely. i need to own this collection so i can open it every time i need a reminder of where i should be instead of where my mind may take me.

"she knew first hand how prone most of us are to negativity, self-criticism, even self-hatred."

i don't want to do that anymore. i want to be okay. i want to realize i am okay.

This gorgeous, spiritual resource is a gift to all who meditate or seek to begin the practice. The 52 meditations and their accompanying art offer peace, simplicity, clarity and gentle encouragement from the soul of a beloved Buddhist monk and her students.

When I got this book, I had never heard of Ani Trime. However, since I like to meditate and I'm continuously on the lookout for things which might help me to become more mindful, I thought I'd give this book a try.

I'm very, very glad that I did.

It's filled with wonderful illustrations and affirmations. It's very short and can be read quickly, but it's the kind of book that you can come back to over and over again and keep being inspired by it.

In fact, returning back to it regularly is exactly what's suggested here. There are 52 affirmations in the book, one for each week of the year. It is suggested that the reader try to focus on one affirmation per week.

That's exactly what I plan to do now.

I loved this book and was very inspired by it. I highly recommend it to all people who are interested in this topic.

*Thank you to Storey Publishing and NetGalley, who provided me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.

Each affirmation is written in two lines, with the first meant to be said on the breath in and the second on the breath out. These little gems are guaranteed to enhance your peacefulness and positivity. With one (beautifully illustrated) affirmation for each week of the year, you'll have plenty of time to absorb each one fully.

Ani Trime’s book is both inspiring and thought provoking, and the illustrations are magic. This is the perfect gift for that special person who is going through difficulties, or for yourself to reaffirm your joy in life. I really enjoyed reading about the artists at the end, and how the affirmations inspired them. Great little book to dip into from time to time.
