Sasha Summers’ first book in the Draegers of Last Stand, Texas series, Sweet on the Cowboy, is all kinds of goodness wrapped up in this sweet story. With just a tad bit of tension and intrigue to make the story even more interesting, Lam and Gwen’s story is the kind that you can hug close to your heart.

With witty sibling banter and a cast of unique characters, this is the type of book you find yourself immersed in from beginning to end. Throw in a pair of precocious and too cute for words little twins girls, and a devoted cattle dog and you having the makings of a “can’t turn the pages quick enough” and feel good story. I only hope that Ms Summers has further plans to expand upon stories about Draegers family...I can only see myself gathering those stories close to my heart as well.

Absolutely loved this book. A sweet romantic story with two characters having had a difficult past. However, there was no going back and forth and the usual quarrels, just a simple loving story!

Lam Draeger and Gwen Hobbs couldn't be two polar opposites. Lam runs the family ranch after his father passed away and carries the burden of the family of the family on his shoulders and Gwen is the family cooks daughter and a Chef and a free spirit with twin daughters.
Yet , when the first meet its sparks at first blow.!
This read is short and so worth the time it will make you smile, laugh and even cry.
Kudos to Sasha Summers for such an incredible write.

I love a cowboy romance and then one was wonderful. Lam was a tragic figure and Gwen was lovely. A story about healing and love. Can't wait to read more by this author.

Set in Last Stand Texas, Sweet on the Cowboy is a lovely warm and comforting story filled with hope, healing and second chances for rancher Lam Draeger and chef Gwen Hobbs, who has brought her twin daughters back to the Draeger ranch after being abandoned by her fiance. This story is sweet and heart warming. It deals beautifully with the issues of body image and emotional bullying. I found it emotionally engaging and a lovely read.

Lambert Draeger was in charge of running his family's farm now that his dad had died. He had so much grief that he was dealing with in addition to the death of his dad, his young son's tragic death and the break up of his marriage. He didn't think he would ever find joy again. He went through he motions of life and stayed busy and never missed a meal that Marta, their cook, always had waiting for him. Until, he walked into a messy kitchen with a strange woman singing and "cooking". There were also two young girls asleep under the table. Who was this and what was she doing in his kitchen? And where was Marta?

Gwen Hobbs had left her children's father, or actually he had left them broke and practically homeless. She had come home to her mother's care. Marta had told her she could take a break and Gwen could take over her cooking duties at the ranch. She could enjoy time being a grandmother. Apparently, no one had cleared that with the Boss Man. Here he was glaring at her in his kitchen. Would she be able to stay or would she and her girls be leaving again?

I absolutely loved this story. It was about healing and love, real genuine love. The kind of love that makes a hardened cowboy don fairy wings to make two little girls happy. There was one descriptive sex scene that could have been left and a smattering of hardened cowboy kind of language but the story was beautiful.

An enjoyable, sweet with a bit of spice story. The characters were decently developed- I would have liked a little bit more about their past which was mentioned in passing, yet had big ramifications to their current outlook. The secondary characters were developed and added a nice bit of humor and sweetness to the story. SWEET ON THE COWBOY begins The Draegers of Last Stand, Texas series, part of the Last Stand, Texas connecting series. Much like the Marietta, Montana connecting series, also from Tule Publishing, this small Texas town is sure to turn into a destination reading location for readers who love that sense of community that an overlapping set of series does – and that certainly includes me.

Gwen is back home, well back where her mom still works trying to hide from her jerk of a fiancé who left her and their twin daughters, took off with their savings and generally is determined to make her life miserable. Coming back made sense in many ways, she’d give her mom a bit of a vacation, take over the ranch cooking and figure out how to put their lives back together – all while making certain her sweet little girls are not harmed by the sudden changes in their lives. She had dreams once, but not they’ve disappeared in the puffs of smoke from her bonfire of life. The one thing she never thought of was this unexpected, burning attraction to Lam, technically her boss and the owner of this ranch. Trusting another man isn’t in the cards for Gwen any time soon, but how do you resist a man who will put on fairy wings just to make her little munchkins smile?

Life has hit Lam hard. The loss of his son was devastating, the divorce that soon followed completed the job of destroying his dreams. The absolute last thing he needed or wanted was this attraction to not only the new cook but to her adorable little girls who melted his heart faster than a popsicle in the summer Texas sun. He’ll do everything in his power to fight against this spark between them, but Lam also knows it’s a losing battle. Who would have ever thought that Cowboy-Man would don fairy wings just to make little girls smile? Certainly not Lam, but that action only proves just how deep he is. The chemistry is strong between Gwen and Lam in SWEET ON THE COWBOY, the tensions high as danger from Gwen’s past finds her once again. The sense of family is strong in this story and I can’t wait to discover Lam’s siblings’ stories later in this series. The twins stole scenes left and right, it will be hard to resist these little ones. In all, I had a blast discovering a new family to get to know, explore a different part of Last Stand, Texas and meet two people who are so right for each other they simply have to get to that point as well. If you love a good romance, cowboys, little girls in tiaras and the sense of community that an overlapping set of series brings then you’ll love SWEET ON THE COWBOY.

Sweet on the Cowboy by Sasha Summers is the first book of the The Draegers of Last Stand series. This series is contemporary romance and this first book is a full story so I imagine the rest of the series will change characters making each fine to be read as a standalone.

Gwen Hobb had always vowed to make something of herself but when her fiance and father to her daughters leaves them Gwen finds herself returning to her hometown. While Gwen has had training as a professional chef and is way over qualified she still finds herself taking over for her mother in the kitchen at the Draeger ranch.

Lam Draeger had thrown himself into taking care of the family ranch and the rest of his family after he and his wife divorced after the death of their son. Needless to say Lam likes things around the ranch just as they are and was not prepared for the young woman in his kitchen or her two daughters.

Sweet on the Cowboy is a fairly short read being novella length that it was easy to do in one sitting and it sure packed a lot into those pages. This is one that has a lot of emotion to it as both characters grow along the way. One that was a bit of an opposites attract but find they are more alike then they thought, a nice little tale overall.

I loved this book. Lam Draeger lost his young son and then his wife through divorce. He spends all of his time on the family ranch looking after his siblings and not thinking about all that he has lost. Gwen Hobbs is the daughter of the cook on the ranch. Except that now she is all grown up and a single mother of two daughters. Her baby daddy left with all of their savings leaving them broke and homeless. Now she is working in the kitchen at the ranch filling in for her mother. Lam seems crabby and stubborn, but she sees a softer side of him when he interacts with her girls. Can two broken souls help each other to heal and think of the future? Great read.

Two wounded souls that find an attraction that neither were looking for, but will help each other heal from their pasts. Lam is busy with his family ranch after his divorce and Gwen, single mom is at the ranch only temporarily with her two little girls. Gwen is the cook until she can get back on her feet. Neither can resist the attraction that I feel but will their wounded hearts let them.

I so enjoyed this book, great characters that were very likeable. Loved how the little girls called Lam, Cowboy-Man. This is my first book by this author and will not be my last. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

Leaving a tough relationship, Gwen moves in with her mother at Lam Draeger’s family ranch. She has a lot to prove in order to be able to stay there and luckily she is a world class chef. Lam finds himself intrigued with and drawn to Gwen as she is to him. Throw in a dog named Jax who becomes protective of Gwen’s shy, reserved daughter, Amy, and it’s a delicious recipe for love.

This is a wonderful story of two wounded souls finding each other, coming together almost against their will, and helping each other heal. It's a beautiful love story that will steal your heart. I enjoyed this new to me author's writing style. It is very descriptive and layed the little town of Last Chance, TX right out before me. Her characters are interesting and well developed while the story has a nice pace to it. Overall I thought this was a very enjoyable read that I and I think everyone will enjoy it. I definitely recommend.

Sweet on the Cowboy by Sasha Summers is an engaging read that includes ranching and cowboys but has a strong family theme. I found this to be thoughtful look at disappointments in others, making the best out of what life throws you and finding that there is joy still.

Lam Draeger has had more than his share of losses and unwanted surprises in his life. As for Gwen, her daughters and her pastries, she turns out to be a pleasant surprise for him. He may not have thought so at the beginning but as the story progress, even a stubborn cowboy can change his mind. They are genuine characters with realistic problems and concerns in life.

I enjoyed this latest story taking place in Last Stand Texas. There are secrets to be revealed, family drama and romance between a grumpy overworked cowboy and one amazing chef. I look forward to more by this author and the Draeger Ranch.

No pun intended this is a sweet story and a quick read. Lam Draeger has been grieving the loss of his son, his divorce, and shouldering secrets and holding up the family ranch following his father's death. Gwen Hobbs leaves an emotionally abusive relationship with her twin girls Jilly and Amy and returns to her mother, the cook on the Draeger ranch. Gwen is an incredible chef and fits right in with the Draeger family, who are charmed by her little girls. Lam and Gwen fight a growing attraction as concerns arise that the girls' father may want them back and that Gwen might be wooed away to do a cooking show. They give in eventually and the entire family gets the HEA they deserve. My only criticism is that I would have liked to have seen more of a connection to Last Stand and characters introduced by other Last Stand series authors.

The first book in a series of hunky Texas cowboys. This is Lam (Lambert) and Gwen's story. He is the oldest in the family, and is still mourning the death of his son and the divorce of his wife. She is a single mom of twin 3 year old girls, and hiding from her ex-boyfriend, who threatened to take the girls away from her. Her mom is the cook at the ranch, and she goes there to be with her. She is also a professional chef, so takes over cooking to give her mom a break. The little girls are darling, and soon melt everyone's heart. A sweet and quick read, and one that was hard to put down. Highly recommend this story and author.

Sweet on the cowboy is the first book in the Dragers of Last Stand, Texas. This story was a heartfelt, enjoyable, and heartwarming story. It was well written, wonderful, and easy to read. I truly enjoyed reading about these two characters.
