Leslie North continues to captivate her readers with her genuine and authentic storylines, a wealth of interesting and likeable characters, and plots that flow with relative ease and keep your attention throughout the entire book.

The Cowboy's Surprise Nanny definitely provides readers with all the above and was a wonderful, heartfelt and feel good romance. I’m looking forward the whatever comes next from this talented author.

This was a quick afternoon read with some really likable characters and a cover that is easy on the eyes! 😘
There wasn’t a lot of time for character development but this is what kept this story short and sweet.
I really enjoyed the relationship with the nanny and the Cowboys son. They needed each other and it was obvious in how quickly their relationship blossomed.
This was a great start to the series! Looking forward to the next book!

An internet chef run into scandal about plagiarizing recipes and ends up working as a nanny to a little boy with terrible food allergies and a lonely widowed father. There aren’t a lot of surprises in this book, despite the name, but it is a sweet and enjoyable tale of love and people brought together through love and food.

This is a light and fun read, something to warm your insides and make you appreciate the way love grows on people. Ian's not expecting to fall in love with Katie but when it happens, they both have to come to terms with a lot of things and it doesn't help that a sweet kid is involved.

This is the first book I've ever read by Leslie North and the first in this series. I won't be picking up another.
At one point the H's life is compared to a Lifetime or Hallmark movie and the h wants to help make it more Hallmark. That is a good summary of this novel- it's a Hallmark movie. Complete with the low character development, awkward dialogue and jumps in feelings. BUT there's also the super sweet moments- albeit few and far between- that make this an okay, quick read.
2 hours and a few memorable moments make this a 2 star for me.

Overall, another great story by a great author. I liked this one, as it is a quick easy read. Katie is a tv chef, who was mixed up in a scandal, so she comes to Texas to hide out and reboot, and is given a job with Ian, a widower with a young son who has special eating issues. Naturally sparks fly, and the attraction is strong. Andy, the little boy is darling, and really adds to the story too. Only a couple of minor issues. First off, didn't see why the four women surrounded her and then interrogated her after she dropped Andy off at school. And what is with the one glaring at her? Never seen again, so didn't see the point. Also, the blow up at the end, that leads to the make up and HEA seemed a little slow. Ian has a temper that seemed out of place. Other than these minor issues, I highly recommend this book and author.

A wonderful start to this new series by Leslie North. Relatable well delivered characters and a delightful story I recommend you add this one to your collection.

Ian is a widower raising his little boy after the death of his wife. Katie is reeling after her professional life imploded due to bad decisions she made on impulse. Ian promised to sign Andy up for the Strawberry Festival but missed the deadline because Andy was in the hospital. The Mayor puts Andy in the last slot of the Strawberry Festival but with the condition that Ian hire his niece as a nanny while she is figuring out her career direction. Ian is expecting a teen and is blown away by Katie in her 4 inch heels and tight black dress. What really wins Ian over is Katie's devotion to Andy and to making food free of Andy's allergens that he enjoyed. Katie discovers great satisfaction in helping Ian with Andy and creating delicious healthy food for them. Affection develops between Ian and Katie but when Katie starts having professional success again without telling Ian of her new efforts on social media, he sends her away. They get to their HEA but it requires personal growth from each of them.

The Cowboy's Surprise Nanny, made me smile and sigh while reading it. The love and dedication that Ian has for his son comes through. I really loved this book.

Ian and Katie's story was short and sweet. I liked that they both had another chance to make things work individually. Andy was a cute addition, but not a main character. I felt like I was missing something throughout the story, most likely because it was so short and didn't go into a a lot of detail.

The story follows Ian, a cowboy with a young son who finds himself agreeing to take on a nanny in exchange for a favor. He’s been grieving his wife and seeking solitude of late, so he is hesitant to welcome an unknown woman into his home. When he meets Katie, he is immediately drawn to her beauty and fiesty personality, and Ian also loves how she interacts with his son. The more time they spend to together, the stronger the attraction between them grows until they give in to their urges.

I enjoyed the story but not to the extent that I’ve enjoyed some of Leslie North’s other books, where it felt like there was more depth to the relationships. Her books are typically short, so there isn’t a ton of relationship-building, but this book seemed rushed. The romantic relationship took a backseat to the family dynamics, and that made it so the chemistry was lacking. The timeline was also pretty vague so I didn’t get a real sense of how long Katie and Ian were together as the story went on.
