A good top holiday read I really enjoyed, especially as the ending was not as expected. Charlie, like many of us from time to time wondered what life would have been like if we had made a different decision.

I absolutely loved this book and was so gutted it had to come to an end. For me, this is more than a romance novel and a will they won't they? It touches on real emotions and feelings that the reader can surely identify with. There is a touch of sliding doors about this story, what would happen if the characters were to take that different path in life and if they had the chance in future to walk that path, would they? Will they? Being in the right/wrong place, deciding on the right thing to do, regrets, guilt, love, family, friends, secrets, lies, this book has it all. It just got better and better as the story unfolded. A wonderfully written heartwarming, emotional story. I heartily recommend reading it.

This book touched my heart in a way few others have. I loved it from start to finish. From tears to smiles and back again. This story reminds us that we all have a past and sometimes it can come back and haunt us.

One of my favourite books this year.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. To be honest this was a bit too soppy for me and a bit Mills and Boon but I did finish it but did not really like it.

As I opened the book, the song from The Greatest Showman of the same name kept running through my mind. Quite apt, considering the musical theme that runs through the book.

There are moments in all our lives where we wonder "What if?"

This story was exactly that. The story of Charlie Taylor, a young teacher with a passion for songwriting.
She meets Tom, a drummer who plays in her brother's band.

He turns her life upside down within one meeting.
He feels like The One.
He understands her music.
He makes her feel unbelievable.

Yet her brother goes to many lengths to keep them apart.

A chance meeting a few years later makes her wonder whether she should have heeded her brother's warnings, or listened to her heart.

Tragedy strikes and she is torn away from him again.

More time passes and she is happy, settled and married, with a wonderful husband, great friends and a life she is more than happy with.

But that "What if?" keeps popping up in her head, on the radio, in magazines...

What if, indeed.

I'll tell you something, One sign of a good read for me is when I don't constantly look at the percentage counter on my Kindle, to see how much is left, or how much I have read. With this book, I glanced down at 38%. The next time I looked, it was at 73% and then, it was finished!

It only took me over two days to read, because kids needed their mother, but a wonderful read. I'd recommend, definitely.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Rewrite the stars is a good story. However it didn't make me want to re read it in future. The characters failed to leave a mark.

Charlotte / Charlie and Tom's paths cross over the period of the book - starting at a one off meeting and then progressing. Some of this happens at Christmas - but that's not a massive feature of the book (so don't think you need to save it until the festive period to properly appreciate it or anything, I was fine reading it by the pool in the sunshine!)
Whilst the Charlie / Tom relationship is the main thread running through the book - and who doesn't love a 'the one who got away' story - their relationships with other people are also really well developed.
It's set it Ireland in a number of different rural and city locations - and they are described really well and evoke the differing vibes of the geographical areas.
It weaves historic information in with present day so that the whole back story is eventually unravelled. I did guess some of it - but that didn't detract from the book and wanting to finish reading it.
Occasionally I did want to punch Charlotte and tell her just to be honest - but I guess that might not have been such a twisty and turny book!! Overall it was a lovely easy read and I'd recommend it.

The title of this book suggested to me that someone, or multiple someone’s, were going to be trying to re-write their love story or correct a bad choice or set of circumstances that’d happened earlier in their life. In a way, this is right. But in other ways it’s so wrong.
Many of us face the inevitable “what if” question all the time. This book explores that following a single character (Charlotte), her relationships and general life choices over the span of like 10 years. To most people I believe we’d agree that Charlotte made the right choices. But all she can see is the “what if I’d gone with him” and “what if I’d never done this”.
I really liked how Charlotte explored these choices and the impacts they’ve had on her life today. Both in the way that they’ve given her a great life, but also in the ways that she missed out on opportunities to be with her family when they needed it.
Even though things hit a kind of bad patch towards the end, I loved how Charlotte reconnected and found out what would have happened if she’d made a single choice when she was younger. By doing that, it felt like she was able to finally put those questions to bed and follow her dreams, and her heart, to the happily ever after she deserved.
That emotional rollercoaster of what if’s was so easy to relate to that I couldn’t help but feel like I was involved in her decision-making as I read it. Even the way the final decision was written left everything in the air as to what choice she’d made. So much so that I needed to re-read it to make sure I had interpreted it right.

Cute story, though I didn’t love it the way that many other reviewers did - it may be that I’m too old! The story premise though of first loves, regrets and choices is a good one.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an arc of this book and the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my review.

Overall, a good read. I thought some of the main character's introspection went on for too long in parts, and that Jack's character was too perfect. I mean come on, who knows a man like that? I also can't help thinking that considering the whole plot was about Charlie being haunted by the thought of 'what if' and her first love, that the conclusion of this plot was a bit too convenient. It didn't seem realistic and a little more time should have been spent on it. I do, however, think she picked the right man, but I couldn't help feeling sorry for the one she turned away from. And Charlie's brother, talk about a diva! I can't believe how, in effect, he was controlling the lives of his family members. Charlie was sometimes a little flat - I needed to feel more emotion coming from her. Despite all these comments, it is a good story. I liked the musical element, and hearing about Charlie's teaching job. I really liked Jack too, but as I said before, he was just too good to be true.

I loved this story. The characters felt so real and Charlie’s feelings seemed so honest This is the type of love story I really like. I like to go through an emotional rollercoaster along with the characters and I have definitely done that with this book.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

I have mixed feeling on this one. Both the story and the narration was gripping until I turned to the last page where everything went topsy turvy. That I was not able to digest the ending is, to say the least. I was with Tom from the very beginning and hated Mathew with a vengeance. Obviously, the conclusion doesn't do justice to my emotions leaving me betrayed. And the way Tom behaved looked really improbable. He is the guy who recognised Charlie's hidden talent and he remembered her even after years evidenced by the meeting outside the pub. So how can such a guy have a drastic change?
Well, maybe I have become an emotional wreck and is letting the story to have an undue influence. Anyway, I want to give a heads up to my fellow bookworms because if you are a romantic at heart, you might be disappointed with the way things end.

Many thanks to HarperCollins and Emma Heartherton for the opportunity to read and review this book. Rewrite the Stars was a wonderful romantic , feel good read. I loved the main character Charlie who falls in love with rock star Tom. It never seems to be their time and Charlie sacrifices her one true love to care for her brother when he has a tragic accident. Just when Charlie finds her happy ever after with the lively Dr Jack her happiness is in jeopardy when Tom's band comes touring in her town. Who will Charlie choose. A great read

Ok I’ll be honest when I started this book I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy it but I’m so glad I stuck with it as it was amazing and I ended up staying up to the early hours of the morning as I couldn’t put it down. This is a beautiful story about love and life and that first love that we all romanticises about and wonder what if. I loved it.

Perfect title. It follows the story of Charlie who falls in love with her brothers best friend and the ramifications of that spread far and wide. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend

I’ve got to admit that, until half way through this book, I wasn’t convinced. The dialogue was stiff and it seemed like another book trying to be One Day (don’t they all?!)

However, something magic happened and this turned into a real page turner for me - and I loved it. It’s difficult to find something new in this genre, and new it certainly isn’t - but the read is really, really enjoyable. Highly recommended.

A light romantic read even if at the end I was still unsure how the title came about. There was great promise at first but I became increasingly irritated by the main character (Charlotte/Charlie) who became more and more self obsessed, lacking substance and she was so indecisive that there was a good amount of introspective self imposed self pity that I found it difficult to keep with it. She basically needed a good shake! Despite all that, the ending was so much better than I anticipated and probably worth picking up for a holiday read.

This book was an enjoyable read and I was quickly engrossed in the story.

The story follows Charlotte/Charlie through the years after meeting Tom - how different would her life have been if events were different?

It is difficult to say more about the story without giving away the various twists to the story - however I found the story to be well written, believable (although maybe Jack was too perfect?) and thought provoking - many of us will wonder what would have happened if some event in their life went differently.

This is the first book I've read by Emma Heatherington and I look forward to reading more if they are as well written as this one.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperFiction for a digital ARC - my thoughts about the book are totally my own.

A good read. I really thought at the end that Charlie was going to 'fly away' to try to re-live her earlier passions. I was so glad she didn't. The ending about her brother was a bit expected and a bit of a let down.

I enjoyed this book and I think many readers will find it a cosy, romantic read. I imagine many readers can relate to the story of wondering if your life would have been different had you decide to follow a path with a different person and wondering if your lost love was really ‘the one’. But it also makes us realise that we should be grateful for what we have, rather than trying to chase what we think is the greener grass.
I enjoyed the ‘will they, won’t they’ nature of the book but I also felt sorry for Jack, as I felt that Charlie was not truly living her life with him because she was always wondering about Tom. I thought the ending was good and the very end did make me cry, so I obviously did feel some emotion towards the characters.
Not sure how the title fits in – jumping on the Greatest Showman bandwagon to grab attention?
