absolutely adored this book. I'm a psychological thrillers type of girl generally but every now and then I need something to break up all the crazy and this was a very welcome distraction. The fact that it's a homegrown book made me love it even more.

Charlotte meets the love of her life at 21 years old but it's never really meant to be. Years later she still finds herself pondering if the other version of her would be happily in love with the gorgeous Tom Farley (who in my eyes would totally look like Sawyer from Lost if this was ever a movie). As she finally finds love with Dr Jack Malone, the man who literally put her brother back together, she still has a nagging feeling at the back of her mind of 'what if'. Can Charlotte finally lay or feelings to rest or will she seek out Tom for another chance at reigniting their electric relationship.

I found this book so entirely relatable. We all have our regrets and the discussion that Charlotte and her best friend Sophie have about having another version of themselves taking the life pasts that we didn't, really intrigued me. Imagine!

Ohh and how exciting was the acknowledgements with the revelation that Tom's song actually is a real life song! I can't wait to hear it when it is officially released.

This was a most engaging book, taking us through the emotional struggles of a woman who is married to one man but can't get a previous love out of her mind. Charlotte knew Tom from her much younger years and fell hopelessly in love with him. She eventually has to make a choice, to go with him on his musical travels or to remain near her family to care for her brother.
The delightful Dr Jack appears and becomes an important part of the story.
Charlotte learns what true love is, and also how shallow the man she previously loved is.

A good book with an engaging storyline and a great cast of characters. This is the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be the last.

An easy reading book, perfect summer reading. Typical not meets girl, they separate, but he remains her first love.

Many of us can relate to this story of wondering if the love you have is the love you thought you were meant to have. A wonderful romance!

Written in a bright and bubbly style but with deep emotion at its core, Rewrite The Stars takes that ‘what if’ and sees it through to the end.
The latest novel by Emma Heatherington had me hooked from the start with an impassioned, all consuming depiction of first love that felt like it leapt off the page.
That same passion is evident in the way Emma writes about music, another central part of the book, but I think what really intrigued me was the deeper look at the crossroads that many of us face.
The ‘will they, won’t they’ back and forth kept the book interesting and my thoughts often veered from wanting her to be with Tom to not wanting her to be with him and back again as the story progressed (no spoilers).
I liked the way time shifted in the book, they felt like natural jumps and Emma soon caught us up so it wasn't like I was missing any of the action.
My only minor criticism is that on one hand, the story felt too long for me but on the other there were also some things I would like to have seen explored more.
However, a very clever ending more than made up for it.
On the whole it was a lively, enjoyable read.

As much as I appreciated the 'Sliding Doors' nature of the story, with someone desperate to know what if they had made a different choice in their life, the main character really put me off. Very self absorbed and ultimately quite whiney, sadly. She needed a good shake and a reality check. And the guy!!! The rockstar she could have dated. The guy was an egocentric buffoon!!! Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid. I like my heroines with a bit more gumption.

A cosy festive read that makes you want to cosy up and devour. Warm and sparkly, with an engaging storyline, I really enjoyed this one.

I really thought I was going to like this book from reading the book description. But, it just didn’t keep my attention. My mind kept wandering. The main character, Charlie, really grated on my nerves. Talk about not being able to make up her mind!

I loved this, and would have read it in one go if I didn’t have to go to work! Well written with engaging characters The story takes Charlotte along the twists and turns of life while she copes with feelings and emotions for someone who may or may not be the one.

Rewrite the stars is actually the perfect title for this book! Emma Heatherington has done it again. She puts a lot of love and family into a story that is perfectly written.

Rewrite the Stars is about Charlotte. At 21, she finds the love of her life (as she thinks). The years that follow, gives us an insight about how Charlotte deals with this love in comparison with the family drama that appears. A couple years later, she finds love somewhere else. However, putting the past behind isn't so easily done. Charlotte deals with her past, while being in her future life. This gives a couple of struggles along. Even though Charlotte ends up in her 30s in the story, the author has put this nicely into the story. It has an easy line to follow throughout the years (story). Not alone the story is quite predominant, it actually has some points to make about life. It is a perfect combination.

This is a real Christmas romance and one that you must read. Can Charlie and Tom make things work after years of knowing each other, it is a real will it wont it read. Very well written and I personally look forward to reading Emma Heatherington other reads. I will recommend this book to everyone and enjoy it as much as I have.

Brother Matthew has some personal demons to deal with, and Charlie isnt sure how he will react. When she tells him it doesnt go well, spiralling a chain of events that changes life for Matthew forever and causes Charlie to vow she she will move on from Tom. She meets and falls in love with Doctor Jack....but Tom is never far from her mind. A tale of family love, and sliding doors....Absolutely loved this story.

This was a wonderful love story of past and present. All of the main characters had their own quirks. This book was a love story, but not predictable, which is a refreshing change.

As a fan of romantic novels such as One Day in December and Us, I was excited to receive an advanced copy of Rewrite the Stars by Emma Heatherington. From the first page, I was transported instantly to Dublin during the 90s and the beginnings of a fleding relationship between our protagonist - Charlie Taylor and dashing young rock star wannabe - Tom Farley.

The novel deals wtih love and family and guilt which can last a lifetime. I really enjoyed reading this gentle novel however at times, I had the blurry feeling of wtaching a romance that was entirely built up from the imagination, lacking the solid base of reality. Whilst this did not detract from the novel´s charm, I did feel that I would have appreciated some more interaction between some of the main characters.

I would really like to read further books from Ms Heatherington and am inspired to go to Ireland one day as a result of reading - Rewrite the Stars.

Although billed as a Christmas romance, this was just as enjoyable reading on a summer day (other than a key event happening at Christmas time, it’s not actually Christmas themed!)
An interesting examination of the feeling we all have at some stage or other, “What if...?” This novel follows the life of Charlotte as she questions the decisions she makes, which sometimes are made for others and not herself. This was relatable... but I found myself unable to believe in the “what if other man” as I didn’t feel the author made him a viable what if, the lead character seemed naive and silly in this area which didn’t match how she was depicted in others... however, maybe I’m just a cynic...

An author to watch and read more from!

I really enjoyed this novel but I couldn't give it 5 stars because I have to admit that at times the main protagonist quite frankly got on my nerves with her indecisiveness.

I just wish there had have been a bit more emotion behind some of the situations that arose. I think the way Charlie reacted at times fell flat, as though for all her backwards and forwards on matters, she didn't quite care enough.

Over all it was a well thought out story and I think the ending was right one. Decisions that were finally made gave across the right message.

A beautiful story well written.
Charlie Tayor is part of a loving family. Her older brother is part of a rock band and Charlie falls in love with the drummer Tom who encourages her with her song writing and singing. Her brothers band breaks up for reasons unknown to Charlie. and she doesn't see Tom again for five years when she bumps into him while on a girls night out. It begins to look like Tom and Charlie have a future until a car accident causes them to go in different directions.

I loved Charlie and really wanted the happy ending for her, but will she chose to chase her past dreams. I really enjoyed this book and although I couldn't wait to reach the end and see if Charlie chose the right path, I was sorry to leave the characters behind.

This is a very well written and realistic story from the start to the end and I simply didn't want to put it down as so brilliant. Full of how you have to face your feelings for someone and having to let them go for one reason then never forgetting them but trying to move on. It's never to late to say I love you but will it be to the right guy or not. Also plenty of romance and about families to a brilliant Christmas read.
Charlotte is only young and her brother is older and is in a band she writes songs to and Tom is in the group and she falls for him but he's not available so she lets him go. She moves on forgets her singing and becomes a teacher and five years pass and Tim sees her again and they really think they can make a GP of it but due to her brother she has to let him go and she really wonders if she's made the right decision. Her brother has a nasty accident and is in hospital for a long time and she then meets her husband but she can't stop thinking of Tom. She goes to a concert with her husband and then things come out about her past and her husband wants to know if she's ever loved him and he wants her to make up her mind who she wants so he goes away and she meets up with Tom so she can make a decision of if her first love is the one she really wants or her husband who will she choose and can she be happy and can she ever make anything if her singing now or has she left it to late.
A brilliant read highly recommend very emotional and heartwarming.

Charlie's brother Matthew played in a band when she was a teenager the drummer a friend of Mathews called Tom was the drummer and he was drop dead gorgeous in Charlie's eyes they started talking about her songwriting he even persuaded her to play him some of her own songs,he was blown away and told Charlie training to be a teacher was madness when she could write these amazing songs, when Charlie tried to tell Matthew how she felt but before she coul in walked Toms amazing girlfriend walked in
Not long after the band went their separate ways and Matthew cited musical differences
Charlie got on with her life trained to be a teacher and loved teaching at the small village primary school.
Fast forward 5years and schools was out for the Christmas break so Charlie decided to go into a local pub with friends for a few drinks, a lovely guy at the bar was chatting to her and just buying her a drink when she decided she needed some fresh air, out the emergency exit to the little outdoor area covered in at least a foot of snow
After realising she can't get back in she leans back against a wall and a familiar rusty voice said Hey Charlie that you? She is so amazed it is Tom from the old band
They start talking and she goes home with him and they talk all night the following day Charlie tells Tom she has to Stella Matthew if she is to start a relationship with Tom. She drives home very carefully and finds Matthew in the local corner shop he is delighted to see her and so they go next door to the pub to have a few drinks to celebrate she is home and it's Christmas.
After a few drinks Charlie plucks up courage to ask about why the band had really split up he was confused why she asks now so she tells him about her random meeting with Tom and how they feel about each other Matthew freaks out runs out of the pub and gets in his car Charlie tries in vain to stop him but can't
Matthew crashes his car and the after effects change Charlie and Toms plans
Will she ever get the chance to be with Tom?
Will she find out why Matthew stormed off?
