This is book 7 of the Novella Nostalgia Series. The Courageous Witness was quite entertaining. Loved the characters and the overall story.

Synopsis:
A rising star at The Bar, barrister, Amanda Buckingham is persuaded by the Head of Hartington Chambers to take on a case that she instinctively would have preferred not to. The defence counsel, as the Trial neared its denouement, had surely done enough to cast sufficient doubt in the minds of the jury. Amanda was hurtling towards a career-defining loss. There was something though that Amanda just couldn’t reconcile – something she had forgotten in the evidence that had been put before the Court which had re-opened memories of her own traumatic past. To turn an acquittal into a conviction Amanda needed to delve deep into her own personal nightmare as well as find the key evidence before it was too late for her and Sarah.

I did enjoy this short, snappy, straight to the point, novella. There are six more in the series and if this is the standard then I am looking forward to more excellent future reading.

The book would be great turned into a film. It would show the realities of dealing with rape and the reactions of others. How do we become guilty if we are the actual victim? How fair is the justice system and the society around us?

A truly gripping and harrowing story. I felt really connected to the main character as it was well written. Great story highly recommended
